Staying in Ravello, Italy which is a town at the top of a cliff. Means that I have no choice but to run hills :(

This is about half way down:

Then going down some steps along a narrow "street" I met three horses coming the other way, not quite quick enough with the camera:

Then I finally got down to Amalfi, where I started is somewhere over the top of that cliff:

Right here, in the foothills of the Dublin mountains. I see the Google Street-view car even did a little spin around the car-park.

Ticknock is about 1 mile south of the M50, just past Sandyford Village. It's a forested area on the side of Three Rock and has paths and trails leading to Three Rock, Kilmashogue, Ballyedmunduff. Also has a pretty impressive MTB trail

This mountain is out my back window. A permanent fixture on the horizon. The good weather made it too good a target not to try. Cycled, trudged and ran a bit each way to the top. Great, if a bit wet on the feet.

Not seeing them? If memory serves pic 2 is looking out towards Arklow. On a clear day you might see Wales.

Kurt - run up there and verify please :D

Pic 2- lone hill in centre is Tara Hill, a Marilyn between Arklow and Gorey, the small hills to the right are probably what's left of Arklow Rock. Anything else is just clouds, but don't let that stop you aiming for them ocnoc:)

My last run of the year.
A nice wet 5.6km slog across Mossy Bed and back with the two dogs.
It's part of the Blackwater Way.
Great fun, had to power hose myself and the dogs when I got home.
I'm going to need shoes with spikes/studs :D

    cambo_gueno,

One of my pre-work morning routes. Love the pics. You've captured the atmosphere.

I think it was from one day over Christmas. Very clear but freezing cold meant that I was all but alone down there. It's a nice run for me, exactly 7 miles door to door across the nature park. Not the best surface for running mind...

Great photos, I had a super run there on Saturday, high tide had the waves crashing up around me. As you say the surface isn't the best but the view is worth it.

Here's one from Dec 2011 when I used to carry my DSLR. I gave that up after not too long :D

Great pics. That's my local handy run.

I find the surface good for strengthening the ankles. It's a ******* of a place to get caught in the rain. Like a mini squall!

Not from running, but Marthastew reminded me of this pic I had from the Great South Wall
    4125003548_a195a5c010_z.jpg

I was down there for about 20 minutes and the amount of eejits heading down the wall that day was amazing. One big wave and they were in the drink

The Promenade in Nice, where I did some running and bird spotting last Saturday!

Roughly 5K between where the two photos were taken. Total run was about 13K.

    Coat please!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,657 ✭✭✭brandon_flowers

    You'll need that coat...

Snowed here (on the coast) for the first time in a good few years this morning according to the locals. I have never seen panic and worry like it.

How about some proper depth of snow to run through...
    8398388701_6b59ca3f8f.jpg
    ...and some cliffs...
    8398407459_6228948c7a.jpg
    ...and some horses...
    8399463070_4e29c5a8a3.jpg
    ...and the Irish Sea...
    8399474342_5c31844404.jpg
...and a hundred odd other runners?
    8398396691_8e3cb10ff1.jpg

Was meant to be a 10k/ half/ marathon/ ultra around the coast of Anglesey/ Holyhead. Loads of snow on Friday meant a last minutes cancellation, but as people had spent all the previous day trying to get there they sent those who turned up around the 10km course. So we all jogged/ walked/ crawled/ fell up and down the hills and had a great run.
