    Well done!
I'm a bit out of action this week, heading to osteopath in morning, did 10 miles Sunday, will try to get out tomorrow night or Friday. Bit of a pain in my back. Boo!

To be honest I'm not sure! I'm all caught up on one side, and it's painful, heading to osteopath at 7am so he will sort me out, I need to be in tip top health to start my plan next week! I may have lifted something that triggered the problem.

Just back from the Osteopath, pelvis was out of alignment, and my lower spine was twisted! A few yanks and shunts and Im back to normal, no running today, will get out for 3 miles tomorrow if Im not sore, and I plan on 8 Sunday.

Back from a 3 mile run, liking the saucony shoes feel really light 50 grams lighter than the asics

I loved my Saucony runners too, they started me off!
How many miles are you set for Sunday?

Well not really. Officially I am looking to complete it! But I would secretly love 5 hours, what races have you planned in spring?

If you are a Louth man then you might consider Balbriggan HM on St Patricks Day?

I guess lots of people have begun their training for a Spring Marathon. I see Sian Williams off BBC tweeted today she did 16 miles yesterday for London which is a month before mine! Gulp.. I'm trusting in Hal to get me round

    Week 1 report

Ok so after months of trepidation the countdown is HERE! With one eye permanently fixed on the weather I got stuck into week 1.
Monday morning I headed off to a spin class, through the heavy snow and ****ty sleet. I really enjoyed it.
Tuesday dawned with heaps of snow, and very icy conditions indeed, I opted for the safety of the treadmill and did 3 miles varying the incline to no lower than 1.5%. Wednesday was a copy of Tuesday, but thankfully by evening time the snow had started to melt. Yay!
Wednesday morning my alarm went off at 4.55am as it had the previous 2 days and I was out on the road by 5.30 with my trusty headlamp on full beam. No music as I wanted to hear any vehicles or rogue bullocks on the lanes. It was great! I felt a wee bit tired as it had been a long time since I had done 3 days straight running. This morning was BEAUTIFUL after the last few torrential days of rain, my plan called for 6 miles and I did that in 1hr 11. SLOOOOOW but hey I'm going faster than anyone sitting on the sofa...
I end my week positive, with a slight feeling of OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING....
I am going to do my best to follow Hal Higdons plan as close as possible, I'm trusting that his knowledge will get me round 26.2 in May.
    BRING IT ON!

    Week 2 report

Well it was all GO this week, a tough spin class on Monday, and 3 miles on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday I was glad of the rest! I'm just in from my long run of 7 miles in 1hr 22, I felt quite good and I am definitely sure the mid week runs are the big help. Next week is "step back" week on Hals plan, the mid week runs increase slightly but next Sunday calls for 5 miles, a decrease in distance. He works on a 2 week increase and then an easier week, I'm trusting in his programme and so far I'm enjoying it. I'm loving crossing off the runs on a big wall planner I have taped to my fridge.
    How's everyone getting on?
    Q. What do you eat before a run? This morning I had 2 belvita biscuits and black coffee about an hour before.

If I go for a early run its porridge late run Id have my dinner, wait a hour then go for a run. I hoping to do run a half marathon in sub 2 hours. Going to start doing intervals. keep up the good work.
