There is no point in having a discussion here as it has been shown time and again that there is a total proNot-automatically-anti-abortion bias on this site from the majority of posters and moderators.

Their slogan, "If you protect my right to live, some day I will protect yours". Don't know about most people, but if it came to it, I would much rather they protect my right to die.

Fair point, it wouldn't be first time such a thing has happened. Propaganda is rife on both extremes of the argument.

For what it is worth I am in favour of abortion in circumstances such as which we saw last year in the tragic case in Galway. However I am totally against the liberalisation of the law which would lead to abortion on demand and what is needed is to protect the mother equally and suicide imo is not grounds for an abortion.

Stick to the topic though. Where to you stand on fetus bollock transplants?

    Is this really their argument??
Surely the issue here would be with the doctor who stitched foetus balls onto a mans body.

I feel like whoever thought this up is mentally unstable.

What's the source of that photo?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

That's not too much of a stretch. For somebody who, wait for it.....

....believes in this God dude, who was actually angry, mean and vengeful, until he got a young girl pregnant, and thereby fathering himself and becoming all new-testamenty and nice. Following this little headbender, he goes on to volunteer himself for execution so as he can die and go to spend all eternity with himself in the sky. He then invented shamrocks. And is a ghost too.

Its in a book, and therefore uncontradictable.

Fetus bollock transplant operations wouldn't take a feather out of that kind of credulity.

And there's one episode of itchy and scratchy we'll never forget....

Fortunately these pro-abortion people are in the minority.

30,000 people turned up to show support in Merrion square. Less than a hundred people held an opposition demonstartion on the East side of the square.

not according to ANY of the polls that have been run in the last 3/4 weeks
take you head out of the sand - you have your view , but trust me , it is NOT the majority view , and with the sands of time falling away , the elderly generation will pass away , and so will the VAST majority of your support

as the song says " times are a changing "

It won't make the pain go away. But the pain will be teeny tiny. Next best thing.

On the downside. None of your hats will fit.

Still only about 36% in favour of liberal abortion. That's no majority. The UK might still move on reforms to its abortion legislation too.

Tha days of using abortion as a means of contraception are drawing to a close.

    Thank fcuk.

I think discussion IS needed as long as abortion remains unattainable in Ireland, so if you don't want to partake, no worries.

The discussion is pointless because one side has to resort to this kind of bullshiit scaremongering to try and give their (weak) argument some sort of gravity.

keep you propaganda to yourself - the ****e dont wash with me

as for days drawing to a close , did you see the age profile of the majority at that american prep rally ??? plenty of them will be drawing to a close soon enough

and you see , trotting out the " abortion as contraception " mantra just is total bull**** , EVERYONE knows it is , what is being discussed at the moment has NOTHING to do with contraception , its about saving SERIOUSLY sick women's lives but your black flag propaganda will only muddy the waters for these women and put their lives in MORE danger - well done you

so sure of your views being the majority ??? dont hear your lot calling for a full referendum on the issue - afraid the real opinion of the people actually might win
