Encouragement and fun~!

Hi, not sure what thread to post this so sorry if its in the wrong thread!

But how much homework/study is recommended for us at this stage?

I do lots of extra curricular activities and often dont get home till 6:30, so manage about 2 hours homework (we get loads) and about 30 mins study MAX daily.. I try catch up on the weekends but still feel like I really should be doing more!
Any replies would be gratefully appreciated

I don't think my homework helps me to study, its usually off-topic and irrelevant to JC, f.e. in maths we do questions on geometry from the book and we are far behind etc and its all really simple and in my opinion we should concentrate on harder stuff and JC questions since we're HL! Seriously, we get like essays each night but I would love to study!

Practice for the Leaving Cert: All the regular exams; Leaving Cert Past Papers. No?
I never said the Leaving Cert wasn't important, but considering the layout is extremely simple and enough practice is given from past papers, the Junior Cert isn't necessary to be capable of comprehending the Leaving Cert layout. Why should a Junior Cert be required to determine one's abilities? We have consistent exams all year round. Forcing people to take part in a memory game proves nothing about a person's intelligence or capabilities, only mindless, possibly slavish, determination.

"Plus I want to be educated". Irrelevant to Junior Cert? I not only learn a lot from school, but from self education. The Junior Cert isn't a device to educate people, it's a futile exercise. "You have to balance out fun and work". I agree. The Junior Cert knocks it out of proportion and necessity.

"As much as I really love going online, it does you no good in life." Let's not squabble on something quite as speculative as that.

If you want to waste portions of your life on tasks so laborious yet trivial, be my guest. I intend to live every spare moment of my own how I see fit.

Anybody recommended a revision book for HL French?

Or know which is better: "revise wise" or "less stress more success" ?

I do German, but same concept. Do Aural tests at home, from past papers (your exam papers should have a CD on it)

Listen to french radio, you'll start to pick up the colloquial after a while, which may be useful in the listening and the letter ;D

You can also watch french TV and practise your pronunciation, so that you can recognise what they say easier, try improve your speed!
