25% of time, 40% of your weekly cash! Your fond of the percentages, are you a math student by any chance? If you are then try work out what % of AH sympathise with you and your dodgy knees. This thread is 100% ridiculous if you ask me.

No its just a easy way to get a point accoss, instead of saying four tenths of my money or one quarter of the time.

OP likes converting everything into percentages 100% of the time.

100% of bus drivers don't give a **** about the pathetic moaning of some student who was delayed for 10 minutes (thats 16.66% of an hour by the way)

We have a ranting and raving forum for this, there's a whole thread for public transport. You've no proof he was shopping and not making an emergency visit to a toilet, hence total lack of sympathy. And on a forum known for pisstaking- this is what you should expect here.

I used to live in a small town in Staffordshire. I was getting the bus to school one day for an exam (around lunchtime, it was me and old ladies on).
The bus driver got off and starting delivering newspapers along the road.

Also had a BÉ driver from Dublin-Cavan stop the coach for a fag break.

i was on BE bus from dublin to arklow when the driver stopped in wicklow town, wen into the butchers and got a bag of meat. he got on, apologised and shouted 'the wife wiould kill me if i hadnt got the meat for the dinner'

People who are unhappy with a service find alternatives. if you so unhappy with the atrocious service, get another job and earn more money to get a car and shut up whining.
The real world is really gonna bite you in the ass after your finished college.

Can you give examples of excellence in service in other European countries so that we can compare and contrast?

Pathetic is crying like a bitch on Boards when you don't have the bottle to speak to the driver yourself. You will miss those "Irish traits" you seem to despise if you end up having to emigrate!

Its PUBLIC transport, expecting it to be reasonable efficient is hardly to much to ask for (especially considering how much money they receive)

80% of the average industrial wage.

Far from it. 33000 euro a year is average for a dublin bus driver. Average industrial wage is about 24000/25000. Since your fond of your percentages that about 33% more :P lol

Some things in life are worth the infraction...

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

In fairness there's the *possibility* he desperately needed to go to the toilet and that SuperValu was the only place nearby but I'd imagine it was to pick up shopping. It doesn't take 10 minutes to take a s**t!

I know exactly how the OP feels. It's this attitude that permeates all of DB. They know they can get away with sub-standard service with 0 repercussions. We've all seen it.

Just the other day I was waiting for a bus at the terminus. It arrives 7 minutes after the time it was supposed to depart which means he was probably around 17-22 minutes late (they normally park up for about 10-15 minutes). There were 4 people including myself waiting and I was about to find an alternative route just before he arrived.

You'd think he'd let people straight on and try catch up with the timetable but no. He turns off the lights and leaves the door closed. I knocked on the window and he just shakes his head. I said "YOU'RE LATE", shakes his head again. I was pisssed off so I pressed the emergency open button under the flap thing and he tells me he's going to leave after his cigarette!!

I should point out that this was about 10 pm so there was no traffic to blame it on. The driver is running 20 minutes late and instead of apologising, explaining the reason for the delay and getting a move on he decides, instead, to leave the customers clueless outside in the cold and have his well deserved smoke break.

In any other job if you're tight on time or things are extra busy you have to just suck it up and work that bit extra. But no, not for the CIE jobs club - it's an employee orientated company, never mind the customers.

I am not sad enough to be forced to work my life to suit the bowel movements of a bus driver as I can afford a nice car(thanks SIPTU) .You are proving my point. You wouldn't open your mouth to me face to face, just like the bus driver. The only "keyboard warrior" on this thread is you.

For the sake of 10 minutes what's the big deal. If I was in the situation I would laugh it off and be thinking "Only in Ireland". That's not a bad thing though. Would give me a small sense of community spirit. I'd say if the driver knew you'd spend the evening whining about it he wouldn't have done it.

I was been sarcastic. I couldn't give a fiddlers monkey what they get. Or what you get.

Look, if this is all you have to complain about you're doing pretty well my friend.
