We were short with them IN the team in fairness.

Ya thats what I was thinking. I had forgot Gervinho was off to the ACN. January could be a disaster if we wait til the end of the window to buy someone or worse still dont get anyone at all

One-third of the month gone and no signings. What's more some of the targets mentioned in the papers are now gone off the radar, Holtby, Shaw, Ba, Zaha and Villa. I feel that if we do buy now it will probably not be a player(s) from the EPL.

I have my doubts that we will buy at all and that Wenger will continue to "wing it" with the squad he has and come up with the usual excuses that the "players we need to improve ze club are just not there at the moment" and again fob-off the fans. If we were in the market I think the players needed would have already been targeted and the business done.

"We tried our best. If we were to buy, it would have to be super super quality. I have confidence in my players, we have Diaby back now, who is like a new signing".

    Repeat ad infintum.

That's probably why Rosicky was held back too. Another new signing. Diaby and Rosicky replace Gervinho and Chamack

Don't forget Santos. He's super super quality.

I'm just looking forward to March when we have so many injuries that we have to play Arshavin again. Can't wait to see him walk up and down the touchline doing nothing, while will be Gervinho blitzing past defenders only to pass is to the last man defending.

Lads look at some of the players signing for lesser clubs, ie Bryan Ruiz, Mathieu Debuchy, Benteke, Papiss Cisse, Diame etc, these were the type of player that Wenger would of snapped up 5 or 6 years back in my opinion, all of these players above would improve our team. So frustrating been an Arsenal fan these last few years on and off the pitch!

Looking at Spurs starting 11 I could only see Cazorla & Wilshere getting a start for them, its frightening how far were behind them in terms of quality.

Arsene surely has to have something up his sleeve.

Don't agree at all. Chesney, Sagna, Gibbs, Kos, Walcott and Podolski would all walk into that Spurs team.

The difference is they're playing as a team at the moment. And treat every game the same. We don't, we turn in performances like the Southampton one far too often.

    Lloris
    --Sagna--Kosc--Vertonghen---Gibbs
    Sandro----Wilshere
    ---Walcott---Cazorla
    Bale
---INSERT NEW STRIKER WE BOTH NEED--

    :p

I think Bale is the only sure thing there from spurs, everyone else you could argue. For example, I'd go with Szczesny over Lloris and Mertesacker over Vertonghen. Sandro or Arteta would be a 50-50.

The good news is now you won't end up with a Carroll, Henderson, Downing, Or Adam. ;)

Jaysus lads in my opinion no way is Chesney ahead of Lloris, Gibbs ahead of Assou Akotto and i would rather Vertongen over Mert!

I think BAE is fairly average so thats a toss up, agreed on Vertonghen and Lloris (at this stage in Woj's career). I think Sandro would provide for a much more balanced midfield than Arteta does at the moment, we badly need a player like him.

Do you remember the previous time something like that happened? Or have you tried to black it out :D

That happened when I was four so I don't remember it all .

I'd have Lloris over Scezney every day of the week sadly, He's one of the best in the world , I'd nearly take Friedel over him too to be honest

Whats new with us? Plus SSN are reporting we've pulled out of the Wilfried Zaha race

We were never in for in him the first place. Its just noise the club puts out to fool us into thinking they are trying up improve the squad. They aint.

a bit of blind optimism in this post, Chesney wouldn't "walk" in ahead of Lloris under any circumstances, Podolski over Bale is a definite no and Walcott maybe on the wing over Lennon. Sagna is the only guarantee but even then Walker is a very promising prospect. I rate Assou Ekotto over Gibbs at the moment.

We have to face the fact that we're not the star studded team we were years ago. We have maybe one exceptional player in Cazorla and even then he's been going missing lately. No-one in our team is truly irreplaceable beyond measure (aside of course from the ones we've already sold).

I'm not a Spurs fan by any means but I don't think blind optimism like this is going to help us in any way.

A lot of Spurs and Arsenal players share one thing in common - inconsistency. That makes it harder to judge which players are better options.

Man its sucks being an Arsenal fan at the moment, spend some fcuking money .

Spurs seem to be turning that corner though under AVB. In their last 9 they have won 7, draw 1 and lost 1. If they keep that going they will be hard to catch for teams chasing that 4th spot. Wish they kept hold of Harry.

It's a bit much to say he's being blindly optimistic and then in the same sentence say that Walcott is a 'maybe' ahead of Lennon. The gap between those two is much bigger than the gap between Bale and Podolski, which you've said is a definite no.

In fairness I wouldn't have Podolski ahead of Bale since he is in no way a winger. I'd have him up front ahead of Defoe though.

I don't know I've always rated Defoe think he's a great striker just had a string of managers who haven't trusted him to be the talisman
