In fairness I wouldn't have Podolski ahead of Bale since he is in no way a winger. I'd have him up front ahead of Defoe though.

I'm sick of us "watching" players and "monitoring" them. Sign some of them! The wheels are going to fall off the wagon this month with the amount of tough games. Ambition would be signing a couple of winners so we can win the FA Cup and give Bayern a game in Feb.

I don't blame wenger, in 2004 when he had a star studded team he went out and bought Reyes, breaking our transfer record. In January.

I blame Kronke. A chairman who was a fan would be wanting signings. He's not a fan. He doesn't give a sh1te.

But Wenger says HE decided who is bought and what money is spent.

well does he though? all of them? Park? Why spend 9mil on park only to never play him? its bizarre. I'm willing to accept the fact that we were operating with the handbrake on while paying for the emirates but we have money to spend so why would he not spend it? it's baffling. Really baffling.

the other thing is why have the club got cash reserves? why do we even need cash reserves? if we don't get CL football this year we'll be in a worse position to sign top players than we currently are. Spurs are becoming a more attractive proposition than us! if you don't believe me ask Vertonghen and Holtby.
I'm annoyed when I see levy making shrewd deals for good players and Silent Stan contributes NOTHING to Arsenal.

no it won't happen :( his mrs is 8 mths preggers too so it'd be a big move for both him and his wife at this stage. He'll stay in Barca.

Transfer windows are so painful, linked with everybody and singing some "huge talent" on deadline day is just so disheartening. This squad needs so much and January could be our most important month of the season with all the games we have to play. I definitely think we need to strengthen now to get top 4 this season. I haven't ever been as worried of that before!

He looked to have tweaked his hamstring as well. Would be a great player to sign, but he is looking dodgy with his legs recently.

I've already gave up hope of 4th place to be honest, we just don't have the squad to compete with the likes of utd, city, Chelsea or even spurs for that matters :(

We can compete with Spurs, but we really do need some signings in this window. I haven't given up hope yet as there's still so far to go, but it's a worry.

    Arsenal 5 Spurs 2

In fairness they were much the better team until the sending off so we don't know how it would have panned-out with 11 each. It was great to win obviously but I had serious doubts and we looked poor when 2 down.
We definitely need new signings, I feel, if we are to get Top 4. We look so weak and one dimensional.

Independant apparently running with the story tomorrow that we are after Loic Remy.

Exactly what I was gonna reply well said.

The thing about us the past few seasons as well is we put a few great performances in and string a few wins and it gives us false hope and then we come crashing back to reality when we put in some pathetic efforts, (Southampton game springs to mind)

Im actually really fearing a hiding against City on Sunday and if that happens its gonna be hard to lift us for the next few games after it which will define our season.

You're at one end of the spectrum when it comes to Arsenal fans... those with blind faith in Wenger being the other. I'd like to think I'm somewhere in the middle. We are still better than Spurs, although the gap is narrower now, and we aren't going to get a hiding off City either. City won't even try to give us a hiding, they generally park the bus at the Emirates and try to nick a win.

What we are, as we all know, is inconsistent. For every moment of brilliance or great team performance like Podolski's thunderbolt in the CL or Anfield away early in the season, there's a horrendous individual error or limp, disinterested team showing like Sagna's "clearance" directly to the Southampton forwards or Swansea at home.

The frustration for me anyway is, as usual, we're two or three quality signings away from being right up there in the mix again. Just how much longer it can go on for is anyone's guess, but I reckon it will be a lot sooner than later with season ticket holders paying the highest prices in the league to a club that refuse to invest that money in a team capable of challenging for it.

That's one of my favourite CL nights ever... only sickener is an Arsenal supporting mate from my hometown was there! Would have given anything to have the funds to go at the time. Same applies to the upcoming Munich match sadly.

Nearest I've come to a CL away game is making it to Finsbury Park to watch the final in 06 in the Twelve Pins. Great atmosphere... to a point :(

Latest from Wenger. 'We have two players for every position, one is not enough and three is too many'.

Messages like this piss me off, if they aren't going to sign anyone I rather they just fcuking said it so we can move on

We shouldn't be looking at numbers, we should be looking at quality. Signing players to try push no 1 out of team and 2 out of squad, improvement

Quotes like this from Wenger are seriously p1ssing me off. I've been a big believer that this window would define our season, and sadly it looks yet again as if we're going to take two further players away from an already depleted squad.

It was only on January 1st, after the Southampton game that he was quoted as saying “I will be active, yes,” he said. “We are looking everywhere. We are open-minded. We want to strengthen the squad everywhere.”

With Giroud seemingly out of the City match, I dread seeing Walcott up against Kompany co - hopefully this comes back to haunt me.

I think we should play Podolski up fornt if Giroud doesnt make it. Kompany and Nastasic would dominate Walcott you'd feel.

I think after the next 5 games i can see up being 12 points behind spurs, i still have hope for 4th and its all well and good having 2 players in every position but when the first choice is average we're in trouble, we really do need to improve for any chance at 4th.

If that statement is true and he does not want or intend to sign anyone then my faith in Wenger is at an all time low. He is a "company man" as opposed to a "football man" and as such will soon lose even more supporters behind and disillusioned. It has been clear for some time that Arsenal is no more a football team but more and more a business being ran for profit. The fan is only there to donate in their eyes. The silence at the home games tells the story as the away fans (true fans) are far noisier and passionate.

We're always 2/3 signings away from being up there. That's been the case for the past 6/7 years. The problem being is that we're running to stand still when it comes to improving the team. for every Cazorla or Arshavin (back when he was interested) we've signed, a Nasri or RVP has left.

To be honest, I'd argue that this team is more like 5/6 world class players away from being right in the mix. At the very least. Of the current team only Wilshere, Cazorla, Koscielny, Sagna and, if they improved significantly, Walcott and Szczsney would be starting for a title challenging team.

Signings are needed, only thing I would say a lot of who and what we need are probably not available in Jan, the spending should have happened in the summer, its extremely hard to get good signings in January historically, you are probably looking more at squad players.

I just hate the mixed messaging its just pisses me off more!

The Stadium is quite, but from what I have seen the away fans seem to be very much in favour of Wenger they get more a vocal ribben at home!

When a manager is getting abuse it is usually at home. Away fans don't ever seem to give abuse to their manager at opponents grounds as far as I have seen over many years. If they do then they are drowned out by the home fans and hardly audible. I don't like to hear booing but sometimes it's necessary if they are to get their message across. They are the people paying out the big money for season tickets so they're probably entitled to rant.

The mixed messages are worse than no messages as they are like lies.
