I am thinking of picking up the flip cover, any opinions either way from people who have it? Is it durable, does it feel like it might break or anything? Does it affect the overall use of phone?

Ya its very durable, ive been pretty rough with mine though
and could do with bit of a clean and edges have bit of wear.
But its great and no need screen projector and actually great uses as a stand to watch movies. Id recommend official one.

Great accessory. Well made and fit is perfect.
Team it with free intelliscreen app nd phone will turn on when you open it. Works great with my grey cover but think it has some issues with the black one.

Wife got one of these after years on iPhoneProblem is that she can't get her iTunes music onto it even after trying a couple of converters.

Can anyone direct me in an uncomplicated way so that I can explain it to her

Also, where is the best site to download music for this phone

Forgive me for sounding a wee bit thick but I use my phone for making phone calls and not much else

What settings do you use in the app to get it working with the cover? Having problems getting it to work. Also, does it have to be the premium app for it to work? Thanks.

I just did copy and paste to get all my music accross. Open itunes and highlight all the albums you want on the phone, then connwct the phone to the pc as a usb device and paste into the music folder on the sd card. Disconnect the phone and all done!

When you connect phone to PC you have 2 options - media device or camera. If you choose media device the phone will appear as something you can sync to with windows media player or similar (not itunes though).

If you choose camera it will appear as 1 or 2 drives (2 if there's an SD card in phone) that you can then drag/drop files into.

Actually, you're right. The method I did in my last post was for my previous phone and I swapped the sd card into the Note when I bought it.

Apologies for giving the wrong info there. :o

No it's def the free version. Lockscreen turned off on the phone so that when it senses it being opened and screen turns on it is ready to go and then turns off screen when closed.
I'll see if there is anyway to export setting but don't think I changed it too much.

Sorry no export option. Have you ticked to run in foreground?

Yeah, figured it out... I hadn't turned the lock screen off! :o

    Thanks for the reply. :)

Got one of these last Friday and it's my first experience with Android, previously coming from a WP 7.5 HTC HD7. I must say I am loving the power of it, it's just amazing, everything is so smooth on it and can run a fair few apps without breaking a sweat.

Haven't done anything to the ROM or Kernel yet as I am still learning Android but I am lobving it so far.

What network are you on? Or is it a sim free phone?

Mine was supplied by Emobile, but is sim free (definitely unlocked, and with no sign of branding) it's on 4.1.1 and says, "latest updates have already been installed"

Mine on 4.1.1 still says, "latest updates have already been installed"

Same for me at the moment. I bought mine on Three, then unlocked it. Will probably have to wait for Three to push out the update.

Rooted my phone, checked for updates and it says that I have modified my phone so software updates are unavailable... :(

Will using Kies get around this?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 981 ✭✭✭Lardy

Just checked Kies and it says that it doesn't support upgrades for my device. I'm guessing because it's Three branded, even though it's unlocked.

No update for me. :-( Sim free, no branding, from clove UK. Did you guys got OTA or used kies. Does the Google service framework trick work on Note 2 as well or it is only for nexus devices?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,059 ✭✭✭Sinbad_NI

Mine is an EE UK 7105 but now using giffgaff sim. Nothing here yet. Still 4.1.1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,982 ✭✭✭long_b

Any issues with wifi for those who have received the upgrade?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,324 ✭✭✭tallus

    On Three.ie, Still waiting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 180 ✭✭Supertoucher

Bought mine SIM free from Handtec in the UK pretty much release date.

Could have sworn I received this update a couple of weeks ago but mine updated again on friday and it is still 4.1.2.

FWIW it appears to be a French handset given the included instructions.

Decided I'm going to get the flip case for my phone, but it's €30+ inside in Carphonewarehouse, and even Amazon will cost ~€25. Is there anywhere that may have it cheaper?

Its a 600 euro phone. 30 euro flip case is cheaper than a new one :-) so quite cheap :-)

Thinking of trading up my S3 for this. How's the battery life on it? My only real complaint on the S3 is the battery life.

    Ridiculous.

unplugged at 8.20 this morning 75% left.

yesterday was the first in 2 months that it fully died after 13 hours, spent loads of time on Web and hours playing angry birds.

That's why I sort of want one. Heard reviews of the battery life being great. The only concern I have is that once I put an otterbox on it, it will def be a behemoth.
