Has anyone got an email from susi today about the payment tomorrow? Last month I got an email on the thursday before I get the grant.

Been wondering this myself. I was sort of expecting an email today and nothing.

But I was told by the people on the facebook page the date is definitely tomorrow.

Same no email here too, but as with you they confirmed that tomorrow there should be a payment regardless of email or no email, but I dunno, crossing fingers when checking bank tomorrow.

Around what time would the money be in? I'm thinking anytime from midnight?

I think it was in by the morning last time. I checked my bank at midnight last month and it wasn't there but had gone in by the morning time.

Still no payment here. I entered my bank details on November 28th. SUSI have been saying they've been waiting for my college to confirm my registration. DIT say this was done the first week of December. I sent an email with a letter confirming my registration this week and they said that's fine. But yet again no payment this week and I assume everyone will be off on Christmas holidays now until January. Great. This is getting beyond ridiculous.

So today I get a letter from SUSI asking for my Self Employment accounts. And that:
"The accounts extracts pages from your Return of Income do not satisfy the accounts requirements for 2011. F11 from ROS is not acceptable. AS requested previously please return copy of accounts which must at least include profit and loss balance sheet for yourself and your wife."

Except when you use ROS.ie and submit your accounts online that is all you bloody well have and all the info they need... profit and loss etc is on there. All we have extra to that is a sheet of paper that we do our computations on.

Absurd. They have the information. It's a legal document. It should be fine.

Oh and am I right in thinking that if you have never been through higher education before that you are entitled to Free Fees? - That's all I'm after - Even if it is a Post Grad. [I don't have a degree - got in on work experience]

I am so very very angry... sorry...

Same as me, it was lucky because I got a letter from UCC asking for the student contribution today too!:pac: What a time to ask for that money; Christmas time! I know it's because first term is over but that's harsh!:pac: I still may have to appeal though because I should get 25% maintenance but at least I have the student contribution covered.

On a seperate note has anyone else had problems with the SUSI replying to you on Facebook without properly reading your question and then giving you the wrong information? They are replying really fast but sometimes I think they should pay a little more attention to what they're saying, they had me panicked this week as they said that I only got 50% student contribution covered but that wasn't true, they meant 50% tution fees which I don't have to pay anyway and 100% student contibution.

I know SUSI is really slow but has anyone else been told that they have only been provisionally eligible since they sent in their application? As in it hasn't been looked at basically? I sent of all my documents in July and ring/email all the time, I was told it was in with the pre assessors but was then asked for more documents and was then told that my application has had no change since July? D'ya think it goes back to the beginning when your asked for more information?

Free Fees is for people doing undergrad courses, so you wouldn't be covered typically.

However according to Citizens Information, "In general, you will have to pay fees for a postgraduate course. However, for postgraduate courses subsidised under the Graduate Skills Conversion Programme, there is a reduced fee, which is €2,750 for the year 2012/2013."

So go find out if that applies to you.

Still waiting for them to physically put the money in my account... Bit ridiculous at this stage to be honest!

I take it those of us who have been approved but still not received a payment will now have to wait until the end of January?

Next scheduled payment is Jan 25th.

My son was approved in early December and bank details were entered immediately. Rang SUSi before Christmaas and told money would most likely be in his account by 21st December, not a cent has been paid into the account. I have had enough at this stage and I am getting in touch with my local TD to sort the whole soddy mess out. Absolutely disgrace the whole shoddy system.

I got a letter today looking for more documentation (stuff I knew they had!) I waited until I had calmed down to ring them. When I rang them, I was told that I was awarded the grant yesterday! They said that they'll be dealing with the college directly so I should be free from this bureaucratic nightmare!

I would like to advise you that initial payments are being made on a weekly basis so you will not necessarily have to wait for the next scheduled payment date to receive the first instalment.

Once you have received your Grant Awarded letter, you have entered your bank account details and your college has returned your attendance records, in most cases, payment is made within two weeks.

Good luck with the TD part. I've contacted the TD, USI. USI replied once . TD wouldn't return voice mails nor emails.

Taken me nearly 7 months to get accepted. Waiting for the letter now. Apparently I got accepted. Let's hope I won't have to appeal it.

WOW a SUSI rep online over the Christmas period, what a fantastic service:D Where were you Robbie when we were asking you questions for the past couple of months??? My son informed his college a month ago that SUSI would be contacting them about his attendance record, I will check as soon as the college reopens but I doubt very much at this stage if any one form SUSI have even attempted to make contact with them. 30,000 students were supposed to have been paid by the 21st December I would love to know how many actually were.
For goodness sake what does it take but one phone call to the college to confirm that Mary or Michael is registered and attending college there.

Today I contacted my local TD who was one of the elected members on the recent committee meeting to outline my disgust at the continual unnecessary delays in this service.

    Monday the 24th?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Sorry I'm confused?

Were you asked on Monday the 24th December to enter your bank details?

Ok - well then surely you can understand why there might be delays in paying you?

Monday 24th - Christmas eve - most employees off work
    Tuesday 25th - Christmas day - Public holiday - employees don't work
Wednesday 26th - St Stephens day - Public holiday - employees don't work

    Warning issued to bluesea.

Whatever anyone's issues with SUSI, its funding, staffing inefficiencies etc., being uncivil to a rep who is trying to help is not useful.

If you want to rant, please use the Ranting and Raving forum.
If you want to complain, contact TDs, Minister for Education etc..
If you want help with SUSI queries post here.

Has anyone else been asked for letter from employers? I have received a letter asking for further documentation from my fathers employer even though I have given them his p60 which states everything he has earned, I rang n was told that he didn't understand why they wanted it but to just send it anyway. It seems like they're just making up things to look for to slow down the application, this is putting another week or more on to the wait. If I could understand why they needed it it wouldn't be as annoying. I jus hope it comes soon because the college is withholding my results until my fee is paid :(
