susi didnt even send me a letter requesting a final course acceptance form i just got fed up and sent it...that was about six weeks ago and just got my letter asking for bank details today so i wouldnt give up hope.

the best advice i could give you is literally email, call, message on facebook (the one that is most effective i found they are quick on that-got a responce within hours today.)
i messaged them all the time and put the pressure on and i believe that did help.

hope it works out for you.

Theres no harm in appealing but if you are definitely over then the appeal wont be successful

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

While the others who said every Friday until Christmas are correct, those who have been awarded and waiting for Decembers, the next installment is on December 21st. It was confirmed by a member of the SUSI facebook team.

Cheers. Getting the grant a week later this year is really annoying :/

Just wondering if anyone was in the same position. I qualify for definite for the full fee relief from SUSI for my postgraduate course. I am dependent on my mum, and she has one of the designated social welfare payments. Her income per year is 12,000. I received the special rate of grant for the last year. Today I was awarded the 2000 grant rate. Will I be okay to appeal this? Is there anything they can do to stop me getting the special rate?

Appeal it - based on that info you should be getting 6270 fees

Well, SUSI is in the bad books with me today. Got a call about 20 odd mins ago from a SUSI rep who's name I missed (lucky for them), telling me that I had outstanding docs to show proof of residence. Apparently, items from year 2012 aren't accepted! Naturally, I though fúck this and told her I wanted to check some papers that I had sent them and when I got the papers, SUSI was gone. Bítch. So, I'm FB'd them to see what happens. Looking at the sheet that SUSI sent - B4 - Evidence of Residence in Ireland or the EU for 3 of the last 5 years. Doesn't exclude 2012. Opinions anyone?

    Hi all,

I have read many other posts on here and i just wanted to check if anyone else has had the same experience... i received a letter at the start of November stating that i had received 100% tuition fee and 100% student contribution [to a max of 6270] for a postgrad. i called and asked what this entitled me too and they told me all fees covered [ even though my fees are 14000, she said all is covered]. i received a cheque this week for 1333! I called susi and the only information they had was that i may have been sent out the wrong letter in the first place. anyone experience this?

    Thanks

    Ok

Firstly the person on the phone who said they cover all fees was wrong

Secondly - what is your income? If your income is less than 22,703 and you are receiving a social welfare payment then you can get a grant of upto 6270 for fees. If your income is less than 31500 then you can get a grant of 2000 towards fees. If you know whether you should be entitled to the 2000 or 6270 then you can ring SUSI back and query it then

Thank you for replying to me Mango Salsa!
My income last year was a bout 12000 so way under the threshold. i was on jobbridge so yes i was on social welfare payment. i have tried to query it with SUSI but the only information so far is that i may have been sent out a wrong letter and that the amount which i received was correct. They have to investigate it! They are impossible to contact in the first place!

Contact them again through facebook or twitter - ask for clarification on how they arrived at 1333 - be calm but persistent about it

Called on Tuesday and was told to wait for a letter in a weeks time which would state whether I'm refused or granted the grant.
I have no hope that this will happen but I will wait and see

You are not entitled to maintenance.

Email them and tell them that you are receiving btea.

Grant finally came through today! I was a bit surprised actually, as I have had very little communication with them, I received only 2 letters I think over all and was told that they email you when they are lodging money and I never go one so I was surprised when I checked my account and I had €676 extra, which is only 2 months worth. Does anyone know if there is a chance I could get another months worth on the normal lodge date?

OK, got a Facebook message back from them yesterday evening that I had been awarded my grant, and that the letter was sent out Thursday so I should go ahead and enter me bank details. After that, they said they will check with the college and it could be two weeks before I get a payment.

Has anyone gone from inputting bank details to receiving a payment in less time than two weeks? I really need something before Christmas, but I realise that it only gives me a week.
