I was invited by one of my friends to go to his in Galway for New Years, but now it turns out I can't stay there that night, and have nowhere to stay. He's still saying I "have" to go up though, which is starting to tick me off.
Then tell him he "has" to put you up.

Yeah, GMIT, though I deferred the year cause of some stuff at home.

    What are you studying?

Cool. I enjoyed Galway I hope I get the course I actually want this year :/ Did you go to many gigs in Galway?

Not really, I'm not much of a fan of the places in Galway. What course are you aiming for?

Missed out by 6 points last year, got the LC score but not the entrance exam exam. Repeating the entrance exam in March so fingers crossed.

So the mammy isn't too bad this morning, although we discovered a little cut that was missed, and the bandage keeps rubbing on keeping open so I covered that up for her. She can't do anything involving water (joy of joys all the washing up for me AGAIN), but she can do more than we thought and doesn't seem to be in as much pain as expected

I was doing a fry for dinner last night and she said she'd help. So she was trying to get into a package of white pudding with a knife and the knife slipped and she stabbed into her hand. Thing was it was the parer from my school set (the most lethal knife there is if you ask me! the one I did myself in with on Christmas Eve) and it had just been sharpened. Blood all over the kitchen and a trip to Caredoc. Thankfully the blood made it seem worse than it actually is

 Jesus I hope she's okay.. Sounds horrible.

It was a bit yea. I heard her go 'ouch' and I turned round thinking she'd just tipped herself with the knife (as you do) to see her with her arm up, one hand over the other and blood going all over my kitchen. I was like FUUUUU, but my acres of first aid kicked in and I didn't panic. I got her something to press on the wound to soak the blood then I bandaged it and called Caredoc.

Actually you just reminded me I should really do need to do a first aid refresher course..

Fair play to you. Did she get stitches or anything?

    Ah that's great :)

I presume Caredoc is the same thing as Middoc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,921 ✭✭✭✭hdowney

Assuming Middoc is your out of hours doctor service? I thought it was called Caredoc all over the country now?!?

Huh interesting. Good to know it isn't called the same thing. Curious what number ya'll dial then. I am presuming it'l be different depending on where you are. Mine's an 1850 no if I remember correctly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,401 ✭✭✭✭x Purple Pawprints x

Yeah it's an 1850 number here I think too and you get through to somewhere in Tullamore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,921 ✭✭✭✭hdowney

couldn' tell ya where ya get thru to here, prolly dub

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,401 ✭✭✭✭x Purple Pawprints x

It's strange, you get through to Tullamore (AFAIK) and you're sent into Portlaoise.
