It's a fictional zombie apocalypse so I tend to give it a bit of slack.

The only thing still bothering me is the typo in the thread title tbh ;)

One thing that I've noticed is the distinct lack of walker children in any of the episodes. The only ones I can remember have been Carol's daughter and the governor's daughter.

Out of the tens of thousands of walkers that have appeared in the series so far, it's hardly realistic to see such few children, especially seeing as how vulnerable they would be when they're alive.

First episode; Rick encounters a little girl. Great scene.

Ah yeah, forgot about that. Still, 3 child walkers and all female ones is pretty unrealistic. Don't understand why they haven't had a lot more in it.

Its because its a bit unorthodox for a cable tv show. People generally dont like seeing children dying/ being murdered on a tv show really...Why, I dont know, its just a tv show , its not like its real. But I suppose they dont want to hurt their ratings.

They've used the child walker to add impact now and again, if we keep seeing child walkers well stop caring.

Exactly, they give the shock factor.
Sophia, Penny and the little girl at the start of season one were all there to add impact on the storyline, the characters and us the viewers. the fact that we only see them every once in a while adds to that.

Its been bugging me that walkers seem to have a universal outfit of grey, drab, torn, baggy clothes. Why are some of them not wearing stronger colours?

They don't have Penneys in the USA

The walkers are the ones who got away from the zombies before dying. Children probably wouldn't be able to get away, and would be eaten.

Artistic license. The grey, drab clothing is representative of their dismal existence.

Maybe before they turned they went on the run without any of their own stuff and they're now wearing other people's clothes that they picked up along the way. They've been wearing them a long time by now and have been roaming around forests etc, eating people and are now very well coated in grime and blood. I think as well it's cos when they come as herds they look more cohesive and threatening because they all kind of melt into one and it also gives them a better chance of creeping up on people because they blend into the landscape.

Rick comes out of the coma in episode 1. A while after the outbreak. I hope that doesnt need spoiler block outs ;-)

One of those times when the term 'smart phone' seems like an oxymoron... :pac:

Santa brought me S1 and S2 on DVD, so my first time watching them on the telly as opposed to the laptop..........so I've a few 'that's bugging me' questions:

    1. how did the animals on hershel's farm survive so long - how come they were never killed by walkers?
    2. similar to iPink's first question - when someone is bitten, how come some walkers eat them as din-dins, and some don't (say for example Sofia wasn't eaten after she turned) - this isn't meant to be like a buffy / angel thing where some of them are food, and others are turned to be vampires..........so what gives there??
    3. how come Hershel's gaff still looks completely normal - lights are on light a flipping lighthouse!

and a random comment - E8 of S2 (the one where they eventually 'find' Sofia) still gives me goosebumps

and one more observation - Andrea, when she was bunking down with the Guv - they show her getting dressed in one scene and the undies are starch white - I mean, seriously!!!

I'm guessing that the farm never really got overrun because they weren't killing the walkers, only capturing them. They couldn't have done that with a herd. Maybe the horses/cows were able to outrun the walkers? Also the only time we've seen walkers eating animals (I think) was the horse in S1E1 when it was surrounded and S1E3 when a walker was eating the deer that Daryl shot, when chickens were fed to the walkers in the barn and at the beginning of S2E1 when they were eating a dog I think, which is probably easier to catch than a horse or cow.

Maybe they got away? Like Jim in season 1, then died from infection from the bite and then turned.

Can't help you there. It is weird. They seemed to have an unlimited supply of fuel.

Me too! I started shouting at the laptop the first time I saw it. That whole scene is great. I'm currently rewatching it and am on S2E2 and will have to resist the urge to skip ahead to that one now!

It's Andrea. Just chalk it up to one more annoying thing about her. Come E9 she had better step up and do something amazing or else she should be gone. She's too grating - from her whinging and moaning the first time we see her, to essentially abandoning Michonne to her whiter than white knickers now. Have I masked my dislike for her well? :P

plus - how come the 'we bury the ones we love and burn the rest' was fired out the window at the prison when they decided to plant crops and didn't fancy the thought of rotting walkers in the soil????

Zombies do it during their time off.
Union rules allow for 10 hours of eating flesh and saying NAAArrrggg !
Then it's 4 hours hobby time when a zombie can relax and cut the grass or combie-harvest a field.

and ANOTHER thing - why does your wanno that plays Andrea deliver all her lines standing off to one side, it's like she literally can't act standing straight!

I think it was the bright red shopping basket that she was carrying. Walkers dont usually go shopping

    :D

Tout au contraire - I thought mindless shopping was a Zombies main activity outside of eating the living. Haven't you seen the January sales for god's sake.

old thread bump - if they're so worried about gunshots alerting the walkers, why don't they just use silencers!?

They have been. Opening shot of series 3 shows the group clearing a house using silenced weapons. They use makeshift silencers such as flashlight casings.

I could be wrong but isn't the problem with silencers that they reduce accuracy over a longer range, which would be necessary in a situation such as shootout with another group. I could be wrong though! Basing that on my years of playing Call of Duty :P

Yeah, pretty much. Silencers that just make a slight pop noise are Hollywood myth apparently.
