    Getting destroyed over it!!!

    Yes there is!
However, there is no minced meat in them aka no meat.

Minced meat is what you get when you start with meat and you mince it.
Mince meat/mincemeat is the stuff in the mince pies.

There originally was meat in mince pies.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mince_pie

Adding heavy sugars (honey) and dried fruit disguised the poor almost rotten taste of meat kept without refrigeration.

Until a couple of years ago, I always thought that battered sausages were sausages that had been ... well, battered ... as in, hammered flat with one of those little mallet yokes that chefs use. :o

In my defence, I'd never tried one (still haven't!), and had never seen one. I guess I assumed that 'battering' them with a hammer improved the taste ... somehow ...

That only happens when you beat eggs.

Maybe not too obvious but that pepper sauce was originally used to cover the taste of meat that had gone off

For many years I thought Tracy Chapman was a man :o

In my defense this was pre-youtube days and I didn't have ready access to the internet.

In fairness, even with access youtube videos I'm not 100% sure

You don't need to type www. before many well known websites. Boards is one

I spent years and years typing www. every time

Only copped on this year and was treated like a fool by someone I told

If only people on tv and radio would realise you don't have to say "www" while reading out a web address. Just saying "boards.ie" is fine, people know what it is. It's happening less, but still a lot.

Got to love the cringe when presenters say "H T T P Colon forward slash, forward slash, W W W dot"...etc etc

It has a large muslim population. Mumbai/Bombay has had quite a lot of violence between Hindus and Muslims over the last decade.

That Uncle Phil in Fresh Prince does the voice of Shredder in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Ah, I found that out years ago, was delighted to see the looks on peoples faces when I told them. The surprise, the recognition, followed by the "Oh my God, how did I not know that?" - and me sitting there like a smug pr1ck :D

I just realised that duct tape used to be called duck tape tape due to it being waterproof but after the war it started being used for ducts in buildings.
