Does the fact that Ba would be gone at the end of next season come into it for anyone?

He leaves after 18 months. Except when Hoffenheim were stuck with him when he failed the medical at Stuttgart.

If he leaves Newcastle it'll be the first time hes ever left after 18 months.

I don't pay much attention to Newcastle, but did see someone post on here (don't know which thread) that Newcastle are heavily linked with another striker, which probably means Ba is leaving.

they're being linked with Loic Remy a lot

think Ba refused a 80k/week deal from QPR as well + a new offer from Newcastle

    He's holding out for a big/CL club

    Yeah, usually less.

    why don't you like Ba?

He left West Ham as he'd a clause in his contract that let him leave if they were relegated - smart move

don't think it was mentioned yet but the new sponsorship deal with Emirates is performance based

    Emirates VP Boutros Boutros
"There are certain clauses, from 2015, that we pay them a percentage less if they don’t perform. The Champions League is part of the new contract. It’s just to keep them on their toes. It’s fair to us and fair to them.”

it was in one of the english papers at the w'kend but i can't find it, the quotes from here: http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2012/12/23/a-new-pressure-to-win-at-arsenal-now-its-about-big-money/

Very Happy Christmas to all my Gooners. Thank you for your optimism, your pessimism but all round laughs through the year.

Wenger: "I do not think it would be good for Henry to play with us again. He should relax & prepare for next season." (beinSport) #Arsenal

Shame but hopefully this means Arsene has more long-term targets in mind.

    Not as a player anyway.

    Not as a player anyway.

Couldnt agree more. Even though hes a legend at the club and i would like to see him back coaching or in another role in the future ,i think its time we stopped hanging on to past legacy's and move on in a new direction with a fresh approach to build a championship winning team again.

Feckin tube strikes. Worst stephen's day ever. Could the fans not cycle/walk/drive/get the bus? Humbug!

Arsenal/West Ham shudda paid the drivers time and a half for the day. Although that might not fit in with our wage structure...
