Feckin tube strikes. Worst stephen's day ever. Could the fans not cycle/walk/drive/get the bus? Humbug!

if there was any doubt before, watching the results coming in this afternoon should convince who ever needs convincing of the need to strengthen this coming month. (Providing the quality is out there of course )

I really hope the reason for not bringing Henry in is because Chamakh is not going to the ACN

I think when Van Persie headed the ball back across goal there it was a cry for help rather than a genuine suicide attempt.

Hope his club are looking after his mental health.

The league is too tight to be looking at one or two teams only. We should keep an eye on probably half the teams in the league, we should be keeping an eye on everyone from 3rd (maybe 2nd too) to 11th at least. Chelsea in 3rd are five ahead of us, Norwich in 11th are five behind us. Thats how tight it is. We also now have a game in hand over all those bar Chelsea.

Some very strong teams around us. Spurs and Everton, in particular, worry me.

Some real strengthening required to guarantee Champions League football.

Being honest i think we should really only be worried about Spurs and Everton , I think Chelsea will pull away again they've looked fantastic lately, The likes of WBA are always likely to fall away , Spurs seem to be the main ones to be worried about in the run for 4th place as we still have to go there, as for Everton i think there lack of depth will catch up with them in the long run like usual,

Of course we're not a shoe in ourselves the need for a player or 2 in january is massive and i believe wenger is right it should only be players that improve us not more dross to clog up the wage bill like Chamakh,Squillachi and the like we need some genuine quality that can hit the ground running much like Jelavic this time last year for everton , glad to see that henry mightent be coming too

I'd say a good few had the league written off by mid-october if i'm honest.

We'll have some struggle for 4th this year I reckon. Spurs are looking fairly sharp lately. United and City will battle it out for 1st and Chelsea will start to motor off now and secure 3rd, leaving us competing with about 6 teams, and I daresay we can consider at most 3 of these teams to be riff-raff of sorts. We certainly aren't guaranteed 4th by any means, and unless something is done during the window we really have no right to be shocked or surprised if Spurs scrape it ahead of us.

Anybody know much about Arda Turan? Apparently he wants a change of scenary and Arsenal is his destination. Doubt it's very concrete information, but you never know.

Never even heard of him. Sounds like a Wenger target so!

:o never seen him play but from what I hear hes the playmaker for Athletico Madrid, who are 2nd in La Liga, and hes very good.

If he could convince Falcao to join him that would be nice!

All I know about Turan is that he plays CAM and is 84 Rated in FIFA 13 :pac:

Is he exceptional enough though. Wenger coming out again with the we'll only sign super duper players, makes me think we'll sign sfa again. It's not our fault there's just noone super duper enough for under a fiver.

In all fairness we no what he means no spending for the sake of it, unless they can improve the team what's the point
We have enough deadwood as it Is

Would i be right in saying that he wouldn't be cup tied either?
Also could be a good player to give one of Wilshere / Cazorla a rest every other match or just take their place altogether.

I dont know much about the player himself but another attack minded central midfielder is the last thing we need if you ask me.

A DM, Wingers, LB and and CF should be our main conerns.

I'd push Cazorla to the wing if we signed another CAM. This guys supposed to be very good though.

I dont know Cazorlas strongest position is in the CAM role, I have this terrible feeling if we pushed him out onto the wing he would end up like Arshavin, plus hes not the paciest of players.

Dont get me wrong if this players is as good as reports suggest I wouldnt have a problem if we signed him but Its not the position we need stenghtening and Ive a fear it would lead to more players being played out of there best position like Ramsey, Arshavin etc.

Being honest I have never heard of him. Would be a great signing. He's exactly what we need.

What's the story with Sahin these days? I was annoyed when Liverpool beat us to teh punch, but from what I can tell, he's not even getting into their team a whole lot. Was he a lame duck or has he been injured?

    Lame duck I think

I hope that is the case after the abuse Wenger was getting for not phoneying up the big wages and letting him get away.
Speaking of wages, it looks as if we are going to have to subsidise Chamakh's wages if he's going to leave because nobody will pay the 60k per week that he's on at us.

Diaby to be back training with the squad next week , jesus who knows we might even get one more game out of him this season but it will probably be the bad Diaby not the one we got at the start of the season.

Even if we have to pay half it'd be worth it. 60k a week on a player who never plays or 30k for the same thing. Hope he goes.

Sahins best position is Lucas' spot who is probably Liverpools best player after Suarez so playing him means dropping Allen who is their only effective attacking midfielder or Gerrard who is pretty undroppable. Basically playing Sahin creates an unbalanced midfield for pool. Wouldn't write him off totally.
