How many of the current crop would make it into the great double winning sides or the invincibles ?

    All of them ;)

Where the fook do you get off with this sh**e that the only true supporters are the ones that optimistic ?
    Talk about BS.

As in life everyone isn't or bloody well don't have to be an optimist or cheerful.
Ever met somebody that is always optimistic and cheerful ?
They are bloody infuriating and usually a bit of a halfwit.

People can be pessimistic and still cheer on their team.
I can give a prime example although it is from GAA.
The likes of the Mayo Football team would have only a few thousand everytime they make it to an All Ireland final if it was only relying on the optimists.
Instead you always have people that don't really think they can win, that they will probably come up short as per usual, but come game time most if not all of those are still roaring their ar**es off and hoping that their team make it through.
Hell I could have used the Connacht rugby team as well.

People may be pessimistic but they still want their team to win.

So less of this sh**e about you are less of a supporter if you are pessimistic.
Even the pessimists have a little part of them that hopes.

Anyway I don't believe Arsenal are good enough to beat Bayern, but that still doesn't mean I don't want them to stuff the likes of Muller, Neuer, and robben (especially if he is playing) and beat them.

Wigan should be a straightforward enough game with their current injury problems, they may well play for a draw though so we cant afford to go down a goal first. It'll be interesting to see if Wenger will keep the front three from Reading. Part of me wants to see Giroud back in action though, he'd thrive on the crosses Podolski was delivering against Reading.

Theo in his prime may get to clean that muck off Henry's boots if he is a good boy

I'd say Sagna would. One of our midfield trio could probably compliment Vieira in the centre too, depending on the match/situation. Other than that, nobody.

Just a thought that popped into my head while we were asking who'd get into the invincibles.
Wo do we think is the best player at the club these days?

Personally I think its Jack. Loving watching him in full flight again.

Yeah Wilshere when fully going is the best to watch. Cazorla has to be up there with him too and Sagna in his position is very effective hard to complain. Those three would be in a bracket above everyone else I think.

I'd rate Cazorla considerably above Jack TBH. Sagna is one of the best in the world at his position so it's hard to not include him as one of our best.

Santi is great and without doubt technically he's our best player IMO. But I think Jack gives you more and he gives it consistently more. When fit, he plays well. Guaranteed.
Santi had had several days already where he hasn't got to grips with a game or has been marked out of it. That doesnt happen to Jack and that's why he gets the nod from me.
Agree with the points about Sagna though. Definitely up there. World class full back. Hope we can keep him.

It's Santis first season, and he has done incredibly well,I think your views of Jack been a better player,is a bit nostalgic

I'd say Jack could be one of the best in the game in a few years time, but right now if someone asked me which of the two I'd rather have miss a game I'd have to say Jack. Santi's ability to unlock defenses is just magic.

Tbh I think it will be anything but straightforward. Typical Arsenal to make hard work of it after a good match on Monday, it's how we roll.

Hope Wenger goes with the same front 6 as the other night, they deserve another go, if aonly to see how Theo does against a different type of team i.e i'm expecting less space to run into behind their back 4 compared to Reading.

Hearing a few mumblings that we want David Villa on loan with a view to a permanent deal.
I know he has been injury prone as of late and is 31, but he could still have 2 or 3 good seasons left in him.

I imagine he is on a massive wage. Whatever about a loan, no chance of it being permanent unless he took a fairly big cut.

Yeah, would imagine taking on a player in their 30's and on wages well in excess of 100 grand a week wouldn't go with Arsenal philosophy.

Id tend to agree but only because Jack is still developing whereas Cazorla is probably the full product or close too it

He's not injury-prone. He just had a broken leg that kept him out for ages! That was his only proper injury I think. I do agree with you though, we could get 2-3 seasons out of him. Can't see it happening though.

Walcott set to start up front again tomorrow. I expect us to win this one but you never know with Arsenal :P

3 league wins in a row if they actually manage it. I think thats called a winning streak or something.

It'd be the first time since March. If we did a start to the new year like this year we may give up.

Could you not ask them to speak up?

Cavani, Falcao and Villa. No new contract for you Theo :P

I also heard Chamakh is off to West Ham for £4million in January. I'd wager good money he'll score against us on the rescheduled Boxing Day match.

    same team as Reading.

good to hear, looking forward to seeing how it works today.

Giroud ill and doesn't make the bench:

Arsenal team v Wigan: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Podolski, Walcott

Subs: Mannone, Jenkinson, Koscielny, Coquelin, Ramsey, Arshavin, Gervinho.
