Why does Gary Neville talk such sense!

Doesn't sound too positive from Walcott about staying

On his contract situation: "It's one of those things which will take time. I've said in the past I want to have more opportunities to play up front."

In a month Walcott can sign a contract with another club who will most likely offer him double what we will and probably make promises (that won't be kept) that he'll play as a striker for them.

If Walcott was going to sign he'd have done so by now.

I don't think he said that?he said it takes time and there should be an announcement soon.

Yup. I think there is zero chance of him staying

My thoughts too. He'd have signed it last summer if he was going to.

Let's not be under any illusion that we won so well tonight because we finally got a good forward line on the pitch. The problems we have been having are down to a lot more than simply starting Gervinho/Ramsey.

Being honest, Reading were shockingly poor tonight. We would have still won had Gerv been playing. Not saying the team isn't stronger for leaving him out; but to to imply that dropping him was the primary reason for the team performance is ridiculous, to be frank.

Wenger on Walcott: "I played him in training sessions [through the middle]. There are very encouraging signs there."

It took him this long to figure that out? Encouraging signs yeah and then hes off. I don't think theres any chance of Theo staying.

That's true, they were absolute piss for about 70 minutes or more, Bradford were better.

If you give Arsenal time they'll punish you, if you don't different story

Yep it really does exaggerate the influence he has on this team and excuses the sub-par performances of Cazorla, Giroud and Podolski in the lead up to tonight's game.

We did well tonight not because of the absence of Gervinho or Ramsey but because Podolski and Cazorla played to their full abilities which hasn't been the case recently imo.

Missed the game tonight, first televised match I've missed since the 5-3 at Chelsea last year. Maybe I should make more of a habit of missing these games. Good to see the goals going in but I don't think anyone doubts the ability of this team to score goals, its whether they can do it on a consistent basis or not. Hopefully tonight can be a bit of a platform for us. We need to go on a bit of a run.

Taking Santi out of my fantasy team two weeks ago backfired spectacularly! What a player.

Hope Arsene's talk of resting Gervinho after the ACN is Wenger talk for
"He'll not play again this season"

Delighted to get the 3 points tonight

Apparently we're offering him in the region of £100,000 per week. Can you really see anyone offering him much more than that? Going to be a real wake up call for him when he is getting pretty much the same as what he is currently being offered.

I wouldnt be shocked if he signed a new deal.

Am i the only one that thought Ramsey actually played well when he came on?
I liked the fact the himself and Cazorla switched between the centre and the wing while Cazorla was on the pitch, and thought he looked much more composed on the ball and was always looking to be on the end of a pass.
Think he gets unfair criticism, as he is being played out of the position most of the time and is still only 21 (easy to forget).

how can it be unfair criticism when he plays ****e which he has been this year, its that simple.

Has he ever actually started a match in the middle of the pitch though? That is were he was bought to play originally not out on the wing were i will admit he looks like a lost child.
Obviously not going to get on instead of Wilshere or Cazorla, but rotation will be needed in the squad as we don't want a repeat of Wilshere getting injured again due to him being over played. The quality is there just needs more game time to fit in better with the rest of the team.

He did well and was on a hiding to nothing coming on as the Reading comeback was well and truly underway. He was composed and helped to stop the fightback.

Absolutely. Any of United, Chelsea or Pool will offer him more than 100k. And we didn't break our wage structure for Fabregas or van Persie, we're not going to do it for Walcott.

they were going to break it for RVP

    Interesting quotes from AW tonight...

"After building new stadium we had restricted potential financially - hopefully now we can be a bit more convincing"

Signs that the financial shackles are now off ?

God i hope so. He deserves one last real shot at it and to do that he needs financial backing.
