Accentually not sure you are genuine?
After 2004 Chargers where dominant. Chargers lost a lot of players by just having too many good players and injuries.

Also very good in early 90s, went to our only Super Bowl.

Also congrats to Gates on getting receiving TD record for Chargers.

....personally I thought they shouldn't have fired Marty Schottenheimer. He led them to a 14-2 record, but they were upset in the 1st round of the playoffs that year (maybe 2007?) Schottenheimer was fired and Norv Turner came in, continued to do well with Schottenheimer's team, but they became progresively worse during his tenure. A San Diego fan may be able to give more insight though.

In retrospect, I wonder what would have happened if they held onto Drew Brees - he was traded after an arm injury, and they had Rivers come in for him. Rivers has been good, no doubt, but Drew Brees has been other worldly during that time.

Thanks for the answers lads. Honestly a genuine question, I'm sure others will vouch for the fact that I haven't trolled on this forum (apart from posting a couple of pictures of Ray Rice after TD's which have usually come back to haunt me).

I had forgotten the Brees trade, that would have been very interesting had it progressed differently.

Brees was always good but he wasn't such a hot target

    Dolphins rejected him
So did the Ravens who signed Steve McNair, went 13-3 and went one and done in the playoffs

New Orleans took a chance and they win Superbowl XLIV

Jeez, Seahawks run a fake punt up 30 with 10 minutes to go in the 4th, drive resulted in a TD. Bad karma if you ask me.....54-17. That's assuming they don't go for 2!

Dolphins and Ravens rejected him? Wow, I didn't know that. Easy for us to look back in hindsight I suppose.

Edited just because seem to know your stuff. Brees issue and trade for Rivers at the time worked out very well for us, Saints where the only option for Brees, no team wanted him.

Massive problems to be dealt with in coming years for San Diego, we are better then our record but not by much.
New stadium is also another major headache.

If he hadn't been coming off the shoulder surgery he suffered in the last game of the previosu season, he would have been in demand. He was very good, but whichever team took him would be gambliing on the success of the surgery.

San Diego had to let him go after they took Rivers in the 1st round that year (well they took Eli Manning and instantly traded him for Rivers and a haul of draft picks)

brees had size questions, rivers has action questions.

poor form by seahawks running up score in such way.

Big ben looks back steelers might steel this

cutler is nothing without his blanket marshall

Fair play to the Cardinals. I know they've had a poor season and were destroyed by the 'Hawks last week but they've come back in fine fashion against the Lions today when they could have just lay down after being embarrassed last week.

Toler for the Cardinals goes for a 102yard touchdown on an interception. This is a big change for the Cards to what was the season norm! :D

interesting this year since no one really wants play for draft position and coaches and players looking to save their jobs or get new contracts, could see some seriously hard football last weeks

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Wow, what a huge turnover. Could have put the game to bed there with a TD or at least gone a long way towards it.

Protect the ball, Brown! Fumbles killing the Steelers this year.

The Cardinals only have 165 yards in the game. Their scoring drives were 3, 20 and 30 yards. Not to mention the two return tds.

Steeler tackling is atrocious today. Polamalu jumped over him for god's sake!

Pfft I couldn't care less what the stats are like now...it ends the 9 game losing streak :pac:
Of course it's still worrying the standard they're at now

Shouldn';t have taken that sack for the sake of the FG attempt, but not sure Tomlin would hav3e gone for it anyway from 50.

Jamaal Charles playing for the Chiefs must be the greatest waste of talent in the NFL today. What would he do with a decent team? His career rushing average is 5.7 yds per carry!

Garrett has 3 timeouts left with 2 minutes left in a tied game in the 4th

I think Dallas should go for it here, tough decision though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Dallas lucked out with a good punt and no return. Still game in Big Ben's hands now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Why aren't Dallas using their timeouts after that sack? They need some time left if they get the ball back....doesn't matter, steelers stopped the clock for them,. that's clock mismanagement imo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

Antonio Brown having a nightmare, what the hell is he doing going out of bounds? Between that, the missed catch on the punt and the fumble on the return.....he's single-handedly helping the cowboys to take this game.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

big stand there from the Steelers D, Dallas started on the Pit 47 and only made 4 yards.
Going for a 61 yarder? If they miss the steelers have an easy shot.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,052 ✭✭✭poldebruin

ah, change of mind by Garrett, going to punt now. This game deserves OT!

ok, that should do it, int return to the 1 inch line for Dallas. Even Tony Romo can't ruin this ?

At least he's not the holder anymore. Remember Seattle a few years back?
