think i will stay up for tonights game. got to go with the bengals. vick and mcCoy still out. vick possibly would have been dropped anyway.

1.51 on the bengals is very short for an away team in the NFL so i will stay away from the betting side of thinks

Bit of a noob question but I see the 49ers record is 9-3-1 . What's the 1 about?

They had a tie against the Rams, so won 9 lost 3 tied 1.

well as usual preview on my blog bengals@eagles

gone into more detail on older match think its just a case tonight of going for home dog and hoping their best side turns up

Thursday night game doesn't interest me much to be honest. Might watch the highlights to see how Foles does. He looks impressive so far and hasn't wilted under pressure. Mike Vick is gonna have to get used to that sideline.

I'd be on the side of the Eagles in this one. Even though the Bengals need to win to keep their playoff hopes going, Foles has looked decent enough and that win last week will have raised the moral somewhat, even if it was only a minor victory.

    I'll go with 21-14 Eagles

My little princess has been cranky all evening, hasn't slept all evening, Mrs. Clareman went off to bed at 10 saying "if she doesn't settle you can have tomorrow night off", she's been making little bits of noise all evening and has generally been wide awake, right up till 1.28 when she fell asleep, she's now in her basket, I'm having a beer and watching some football, life is good.

Oh yeah and tomorrow night I'm going playing cards and drinking beer with the lads :D

Looks like a long night for the Eagles.

Awful start by the Eagles here. Dont know why im watching this team, riddled with errors and turnovers.

Eagles look like a team waiting for the season to end. Feel sorry for the kicker there, the snap was high and to his right, the block came from the same direction, not much he could do about it.

That was a pretty awful game of football, don't see dem Bengals beating the Steelers, nevermind progressing through play-offs.

Talk about throwing the game away by the Eagles. THose 3 fumbles in a row were a joke.

Kirk Cousins to officially start against the Browns. Not much of a quality drop for the Redskins imo

Wow, the fact that RG3 has left 2 games early to injury, and now missed a game, would terrify me as a Redskins fan.

Believe me it does. We have another Michael Vick on our hands here.

I just can't see a way for Baltimore to win despite their fantastic home record :(

I do think the Browns are going to beat the Redskins, Browns are getting better and better.
Even with RGIII I still would have picked the Browns

Anyone think the Jets could sneak the playoffs, very winnable game over the Titans on Monday? I expect Luck to have a lot of turnovers tonight, hoping he can keep the game tight but feel Foster and co will tear the Colts apart especially after Monday!

I think the Colts win at least one of their last 3 games, so the Jets probably have to hope to beat the steelers and bengals! Jets have 3 winnable games in front of them but so too do the steelers! Bengals have two tough games left!

I think he'll be sat down in the off season and told to try reign it in a bit, to slide, atm he is not going to make it to a new contract as he will be broken! While it's good to see a qb like him it is doing nothing for his longevity

It's really annoying when people say that RG3 is like Michael Vick. Just because he can run does not mean he'll get injured all the time. You might want to actually look at the spots he's been injured in before jumping to conclusions.

The first one (concussion) looked like he slipped just before getting hit! I have only seen the end of the knee injury one, not the full play so not sure on that one!

It looked like a really bad attempt to slide, he should have just stepped out of bounds. It's not even about how he's getting hit, I'm not worried because of when he's getting hit.

My comparison with Vick wasn't to do with his QB style, more along the lines that he never plays 16 games.

My comparison with Vick wasn't to do with his QB style, more along the lines that he never plays 16 games.

I'm fairly confident that RG3 will play 16 games in the coming seasons. He's not getting constantly pounded on designed runs.

His two main injuries have been:

vs Falcons. Game tied 7-7 in the 3rd, 3rd and goal. Play breaks down and RG3 scrambles. He made a mistake by not sliding correctly or running out of bounds. That was his only rushing attempt in the game.

vs Baltimore. Losing 28-20 in the 4th (1:42 remaining), 2nd and 19. Pressures comes and he scrambles.

Both injuries have come from situations where he was taking a risk to try and win. He won't have that much more risk than the average QB going forward in my opinion. I didn't see his early games but from what I've read he used to be getting hit a lot. He's not doing that anymore, and it just seems like the media refuse to acknowledge how his injuries happened. They just want to compare him to Vick and Young.

Hopefully the Browns can keep their run going against a RG3-less 'skins!
And I'll be up for the Cowboys later (shudder)

Chris Kuper, RG for Denver is out today. This is critical, he's a huge difference maker in our OL. Ramirez, his backup, is terrible so i expect to see Manning under consistent pressure and a faltering run game. Could tip the game to Baltimore if its tight.

The fact he wasn't starting suggested he wouldn't have been dressing, if he's not fit enough to go from the start no way he'd be getting on the field at all!

@MorrisseyCST: #Bears LB Blake Costanzo will be making his first NFL start today. Previous job: assistant to the traveling secretary for the Yankees

    That is some job improvement....

    Terrelle Suggs OLB out
    Ray Lewis MLB out
    Bernard Pollard SS out
    Ladarius Webb CB out
    Danelle Ellerbe MLB out
    Jameel McClain MLB out
    Haloti Ngata DT struggling
Ed Reed FS a shadow of what he once was
The linebacker with the headset is UDFA Josh Bynes. Who you say?

    Peyton Manning coming to town?

    Ravens win

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,174 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Suggs was reported as active 36 minutes ago...what's changed that?!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,395 ✭✭✭✭mikemac1

The teams offical twitter said he was wearing a sleeve to protect his biceps injury. Just 7 minutes ago

Ok, I just read that and assumed he was out

    Happy to be corrected

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,174 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Nah think with how short handed they are he was going to go! Got a second opinion on the injury IIRC and said he could play with it....obviously still a risk for damaging it further!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

No need for all the pessimism guys. Last time we lost to a non-Steelers team at home was November the 22nd 2009. I doubt you'll want to know the name of the QB of that team though... Point is we're still the Ravens, we're still at home, Ed Reed still is a big game player, as is Suggs. Perhaps the biggest worry though is Marshal Yanda's absence. We'll probably have to score a fair bit to win, but I can see that happening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

We've got our issues too, Kuper is out, meaning Manning will be under repeated fire as his replacement Ramirez is a turnstile.

Ye have a lot of injuries though but id say theres at least a 50% chance we lose this.

Disagree. Players are often fit enough that the team will consider playing them but still carry a higher risk of re-injuring/aggravating the injury. Wouldn't of been surprised to see RG3 play if the skins were in a hole.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Biggest injury concern for the Ravens is Ellerbe. He's been great this season. I have faith in our depth, after all the list of Ravens defenders cut loose who start for other teams is long, but a 4th/5th in depth chart ILB pairing... not great news.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,395 ✭✭✭✭mikemac1

Yep, Yanda is the best Olineman by a mile.

Looking forward to see what Jim Caldwell will add
