    Wii-U-LAN-adapter-1041428.jpg

u can use lan adapter hook to the ethernet cable to a wifi router, if u find the wii u hard set up through wifi set up

Does the Wii U not have a standard network port? I prefer hardwiring all my consoles, wireless speeds are just too shody. I have a proper Nintendo Wii lan adapter, I wonder will that work

    No port:

Don't know about the adapter, but worth a try!

I never understood why they did this with the Wii and still don't understand why they've done it with the WiiU.

From what I've read though the Wii LAN adapter works perfectly on the WiiU as do most of the accessories.

Wampy I'm pretty sure that is the standard Wii Ethernet adapter, you can tell by the bevelled edge. So far as I'm aware, Nintendo haven't re-launched/re-branded this for the Wii U

    It will still work though.

So I've read, I just wanted to highlight it wasn't a Wii U LAN adapter, so that people know to just get the Wii one if it's needed.

Most lan Wii adapters will work.I have this one below......

    2rwomli.png

But I will mention I get faster speeds through wireless. It just seems that the
Wii U hardware is not optimized for the USB lan adapter.

Does the Wii U work with an RGB cable, and if so does it use the same one as the Wii. I ask as Dealz are selling a third party Wii RGB cable for €1.49.

Yes it works with the Wii's RGB cable but it, of course, won't output in HD that way.

Good stuff then, I will buy it as a back up cable.

if tv is not HDTV, then use wii RGB Scart cable to play with wii u

for users that dont have HDMI connection

I wonder how accurate the poll ended up being. I voted 'not getting one as it stands' & ended up first in line to HMV at 9am on launch day :o

Yep I'm the opposite. I chose 'day one' but ended up missing it.

I had a pre-order with Amazon but I forgot to update my payment method to new debit card and lost out.

I have just been informed that the wii U I had ordered has fallen through:(

Im going to hit the streets tomorrow in search of another. To save me some hassle can anyone tell me if the Wii U is sold out everywhere?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,120 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

I think they may have had some in HMV Liffey Valley when I was walking past on Wednesday. Worth a phone call so a few different places I'd say, if they have it they may put it aside for you till you get there. Beats wandering place to place and being disappointed!

Just FYI, their website and shops are completely independent, don't share stock or anything.

£299 for premium, £260 for basic

Thats retail though. I meant like a good deal or something. HMV's website is rubbish, and the only other place I can think of is sainsburys.

Amazon France. €269 for basic, €315 for premium plus €10 for shipping and the VAT difference. Brings them to ~€287 for basic and ~€334 for the premium shipped.

    Edit

The best up North would be Toys'R'Us in Lisburn at £240 for basic and £290 for premium. They accept Euro usually at around €1 = £0.87 so they work out around €275 and €335 each at that rate.
