According to Meteor its say No for BT :o

You need to ignore the info you get from the network shops and websites. They are generally done by some bored, shop assistant or admin worker with little technical knowledge and even less interest.

You need to look at sites like GSM arena to check out the spec's and details of phones. http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_lumia_800-4240.php

But note that Windows Phone 7 like the iPhone has limitations on how you can use Bluetooth.

Thanks mate ill check it out...Bluetooth is just for sending pics to herself...wont be using it as a main form of transfer.

Seen a few problems with Camera focus..battery life....problems at start up! Seen a few updates also so hoping Nokia have it all sorted!

I don't have a 800 bit AFAIK it can't transfer photos like that. Use dropbox or something. Or send an email with them in it. Bluetooth is soooo slow for doing this.

Yep it won't do photos at the moment, although Nokia have an update or app for that on the way. At the moment Bluetooth is only for handsfree and music streaming (but works great for both of those)

Bought an 800 2 months ago and sent it back after less than 30 days as it wasn't ringing properly and I was missing a lot of calls, Now this one refused to send picture messages. Have been back tot he store 3 times already and now they replaced the sim to test if it is that. Still no joy. I am considering returning the phone and asking for a different one or a refund. Do you think I am entitles to this?
    Thanks

In my experience, it depends on the policy of the network. Some require 3 repairs before a refund and some will just keep trying to fix it till you kick up a huge fuss.

Is there an ETA on that Nokia Bluetooth sharing app? Or is it still just "Coming Soon"?

Why ? Don't get get me wrong the 800 is a good phone. I wouldn't really try to switch and 4S user unless they really loved the interface.

Make note of the apps you use often on iOS and see if they're available on Windows Phone. If there's anything crucial missing, post here and someone will suggest an alternative.

I am interested to see how you get on with the 800 after having an iPhone, especially I am interested to see if you think it is boring after coming from a 4S. I went from the 800 to a 4S, and then back to an 800 (not by choice in any way). It killed me to have to go back to the 800 after the 4S.

Anyway, you might post your thoughts on it once you have started using it?

Any way of disabling the notifications (text, Whatsapp etc) from the top of the screen as they arrive?

Has anyone found an app to make texting easier on this phone? Something like 1=abc predictive text thing would be perfect as texting is a chore on this phone

There's an app called T9 Keyboard or something like that which will do it.

I tried it myself for a while, for the reason you outlined, but I couldn't switch off predictive text so I ditched it. Shame really as Id prefer the keypad than the qwerty malarkey!

How is typing a chore? Lets be honest here if you can't type on the phone you must have carrots for fingers. Using the abc predictive text doesn't make typing any quicker. You are more likely to have more errors using the abc predictive text. There's a reason why its not used any more.

I'd pick space, star wars seems to be the same as angry birds. You can download and try both to see which you prefer.

Anyone know of an app to download podcasts over the air? Is it actually possible to save anything on the phone? Honestly my old symbian phone was better at multitasking than the 800.

That's a bit harsh. Who mentioned a "quicker" method? Perhaps ryan... doesn't want a "quicker" method, just a more error-free method for text imput?

For QWERTY text input, I definitely think that it is certainly more difficult to type on the 800 than the iPhone 4S (for example). I don't know why, but I have a far higher error rate when using the 800. The 4S just seems to always get it right. I guess it's a combination of things, i.e. the screen (sensitivity, tolerance etc), the keyboard map sizes (keys are smaller on the 800 I think), the software programming (prediction at al.).

My fingers are the same regardless of the phone. It's quite frustrating to be honest. When I happen to be typing on a 4S I realise how cumbersome the 800 is. So that falls into the category of a "chore" for me...

And I don't necessarily agree that one is more likely to have more errors using ABC text input methods. Why do you think people will have more errors? And are you saying that that is the reason it's not used any more?

And as far as Angry Birds goes, it's Star Wars all the way. Fab array of weapons and cool things to do. Great novelty value!

IOS seems more accurate, both in accuracy of the screen and also the predictive text is cleverer.

In theory predicitive text should be quicker. You use less key presses. But its only in specific scenario's, common works, accurate typing and spelling. It would be slower for text speak I'd assume. Some people just don't like it. Which is fair enough.

Its far more accurate and quicker. If it was any good that's what we'd used as keyboards. qwerty keys and predictive text will always be quicker than T9 keyboard input.

It comes with a silicone case in the box. If you like flippy cases, I got one of these and find it good.
