Even though it's still the best thing on TV by far the writers need to tone down Carrie's bizarre facial expressions and constant hysterical fits. Also the way she starts sobbing at the drop of a hat is getting really annoying.
She is going to become a bigger figure of fun than David Caruso on CSI if they don't stop. The Anne Hathaway piss-take will be just the start.

The only reason Brody's time with Nazir was shown through a flashback rather than as it happened is so that they can reveal at a later stage that it's not actually what happened.

    That's exactly what I think.

Brody was with Nazir for 12 hours. The CIA had brought him and cracked him seemingly in about half an hour so Nazir and co had plenty of time to re-crack him. Brody is definitely working for Nazir and has told him everything.

I think everything we see in flashback actually happened. Note he mentions something about being threatened with torture then Nazir coming in with a cup of tea - we only see the tea bit so that actually happened. Its the bits we don't see that will tell us the full story of what happened.

I can see Carrie and Brody running off, escaping from the CIA at season end, when she discovers the plan to assassinate him, she'll be to the rescue.

One thing that bothers me though, is Carrie's love for Brody. In Season One I never felt she was actually falling for him - just pretending to in order to prove that he really was a terrorist. Proving this was an obsession for her, but he himself didn't seem to be her obsession. Then this season she's all about loving him and wanting him to leave his family. It doesn't ring true from what we saw in Season One. S1 Carrie never would have tried to protect Brody from assassination, but this season it's looking like it will go that way.

I love this show overall, however Carrie is just kind of getting on my nerves. This last episode (thankfully) she didn't do anything, but overall this season she's been crazy.

With the whole last episode thing, that definitely wasn't the terrorist attack. Nazir and Brody had plenty of off-air time to plan an attack that we don't know about.

In the season finale Carrie will probably end up protecting Brody by either killing Quinn (when she follows him and see he's about to kill Brody) or running away with Brody.

During the flashbacks scene, they ask Brody did they say/do anything else, and it showed the very last flashback being him and Nazir praying together. Brody then says 'no'.

I think this flashback was the 'real' flashback and shows that him and Nazir are on the same side again.

Maybe I missed it but why were they so sure Nazir was going to be on the operation,I would have thought a general stays on his horse on yonder hillside out of harms way to plan another day.

Dramatic effect on behalf of the writers. Quinn was under orders to shoot Brody if Nazir was in the car. It was just a way of keeping the audience on "the edge of their seat" for a while.

It's good but nowhere in the same league as Breaking Bad.

I still don't get why they thought Nazir would be in the car? I mean I know Nazir pontificated about not hiding, but do they really suspect he'd be so brazenly open either?
Now though they've gone and shown their hand.

Well at least the characters did ask how the hell Nazir got into the country.

One issue I had with the flashbacks is that during them - and we are to believe that Brody was describing the flashback to the CIA as we were seeing it - he definitely discusses the text he send Nazir to save him from the CIA attack.

At no point has Brody ever discussed this with the CIA and I can only imagine that that type of reveal would have raised an eyebrow or two.

So that leaves a number of questions as to what we can believe from the flashback and what we can't

Not withstanding the fact that the initial conversation could have lasted twenty minutes followed by Nazir badgering Brodie until we'll see him go: "Y'know, you're right! Blow 'em all to hell! I'll be a triple agent!"

I just watched the Season 3 finale on TG4 again and the manner in which it pales to BB is crazy. No plot holes of any sort and so much more tension than Homeland has ever had.
We all knew Brody was not going to go boom

Looking back how it beat BB to the Emmy's makes me sad. :( Bryan Cranston deserves all the awards for everything. Anyway to even things up, I like Saul...although now that I think of it BB's Saul is actually better too :D

I don't think it's that unbelievable. In S1 Carrie did whatever it took to crack Brody, including ridin him. I think we could say that the more she gets to know him the more she is falling for him.

As Brody says to her it was a smart move getting Mike to take his family to the safe house. She could be hoping that that relationship would resume, leaving Brody to her.

The more I think of it, it was probably one of the best episodes.

True but Breaking Bad isn't on TV at the moment :)

I think carrie has been in love with him fro day one, just another one of her obessesions that she cant live without along with her job,on the other hand, brody is stringing her along because its to his advantage,he just wants to get out of this Sh*t,kick her to the kerb and sort out "uncle"Mike with blow to the neck and get back to Jess.

    MMM Jess.

I don't think he's in love with Jess any more. He hasn't been able to confide in her since coming home, the fact that she hates him being a Muslim is probably a bigger deal to him than he shows (like when she threw his Koran on the ground) and he can't bring himself to have sex with her unless he forces himself to. Not exactly good signs.

I'm not convinced he's not playing Carrie too, though.

Might get himself a good muslim girl like Roya.
    MMM Roya.

Just wondering if I missed something but how did Saul know Quinn's former partner was going to ring him?CIA instincts that she smelled a rat and get Quinn to check it out?Something else nagging at me,what does Quinn's job descript....CIA analyst entail?

I think it was Saul's instinct. He knew he wasn't going to get anything out of her and assumed she was either
    a) looking out for Quinn and would call him
    b) pissed off that someone was sniffing around her personal business and was going to call Quinn to give out to him

why didn't carrie say anything about the vice president?

Good episode but two things; First, for a guy at death's door 2 weeks ago Danny did well to recover just an arm in a cast.

Second, Carrie getting a pipe to take down was oddly funny in a moment of great tension. Still, all of what happened sets it up for the final two episodes of the season.

Have to say homeland is great at building season long tension, it builds and builds with every episode, can't wait for next week!

That was another action packed episode, I really don't know where to start..

Danny's been taking lessons from Quinn on the 'Jack Bauer wound recovery course'.

Speaking of Bauer, the remote control pacemaker was a wee bit 24-ish, but is technically possible according to the episode's writer. I suppose the usual suspension of disbelief has to be employed re. no cameras in the VPs study, no security around, Brody taking the longest bathroom break in history etc. etc.

re. no cameras in the VPs study

Ah now....politician's can't be having their work blowjobs filmed now, can they? :p

Great scene when Brody is "killing" the VP. I am a little disappointed that he didn't mention Isa though.
