This arrived in the post today. Good fit, adds minimal extra bulk and looks good on the phone. Far superior to the flip cover in my opinion and cheaper too.

It's on mobile fun and amazon. Have one on order on mobile fun too but that's looking like the new year for delivery...

    www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B009KZ36ZM/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?ref_=pe_217191_31005151_dp_1

It's slightly loose half way up each side not that I've used it for a few hours but I think that's just the size of the distance between the corners. I'll wait to see what the quality of the one from mobile fun is like. In my experience they seem to be better. I don't known why...

The smart dock is still not in stock! Why the hell did they announce it if its not going to be available for months.

Hey all, I am nearly certain that I will be getting the Note 2 from Santa, the choice is between the Note 2, Galaxy S3, iPhone 5 :o or to wait for next big thing.

Opinions please? How do those who have the phone find it?

I've owned a couple of big phones, from Palm Treo, to Dell Streak 5 to a Note 1 and now the Note 2. I use mine mostly for browsing/email, the odd text and not much at all as a phone :) If this fits your use case, go for it. The stylus is a really cool feature not present on the other phones you mention. I can never see myself using a screen any smaller than 5".

guys, not 2 has a MASSIVE screen, but still same resolution of 12xx x 8xx? Should not that be quite pixilated? as most phones which use that resolution are around 4.3inch size.

btw how much ram those bad boys got? i know they got quad processors allright.

I have both the Iphone 5 and the Note 2 and it's horses for courses in my opinion.
If your main use was voice calls with a little browsing/reading I would take IOS and the iphone every time.
If the balance is vice versa like myself at work, i.e little calls, lots of reading, flipboard, surfing etc. plus a bit of "playing" customising etc.then the Note wins every time.

I need help! The language setting for the Idea Sketch app is wrong and I can't find a way to change it anywhere. The language settings for every other app is fine just this one. I have even resorted to a factory reset but no joy

Is there anywhere in Ireland or UK that sells sim free the GT-N7105 (the one with LTE) version?

I don't see any point in shelling out for a non LTE version as it an expensive machine and I would hope it would last me several years - by then LTE should have been rolled out to some degree in major urban centers.

    Thanks

Why would you buy a phone (n7105) that has significantly less battery time on 3g than the n7100 on the off chance that LTE will/may/should be implemented at some distant point in the future???

Pretty sure Samsung only have to support phones for 18months after release, so you run the risk of having a phone which will receive no further software updates/patches, no newer revisions of android OS etc.

My advice is get the best you can for what is currently available and not for a vague promise in the future!

    Hi Kave,

I have the 2nd one. I only have it a few days so can't really comment on it too much other than to say it seems to be well made, has clamped on firmly to a smooth flat part of my dash and the clamp is easy to operate and holds the phone including a gel case easily and firmly. It's important to understand that like all suction pads it won't stick to a textured surface or even worse a curved textured surface unless it comes with a stick on disc and it doesn't. Neither does the Samsung model according to the reviews.

I'd say if you want to just easily drop your phone into a cradle and are happy to a) have the phone in portrait mode all the time and b) don't want to use the phone as a dash cam (search daily voyager in the Play store) then the Samsung model is probably the one to go with.

    Ben

Disable the double button press for SVoice - it sucks anyway - disabling makes launching the app drawer a lot quicker.

I actually find it really handy for setting an alarm. Its about the only thing it can do correctly!

Disable the LTE in settings and it doesn't drain the battery and adds a little future proofing for down the line.

Doesn't the One X do same thing, except you press + hold the home button on HTC (which is a soft button) and you press + hold the home button on Samsung (which is a physical button)???
