Cheers for the head up on littlewoods.
I pre- ordered the console with HMV Henry street, still waiting to see if they will honor pre-order pricing.
I have 250 euro on a HMV voucher so can't shop elsewhere.

I did manage to pre-order super mario bros for the WiiU on littlewoods for 46.80
I used a 10% off code from bargain alerts.
    Happy with that.
    Thanks again.

Has anyone heard anything about HMV in Liffey Valley regards honoring the price? I'll ring them now, but I expect the usual 'ah the price is gone up sorry" lark, be nice if I could throw back at them some people are getting the old price

I am going to try HMV henry street if its any use to anyone.
I should hit there about 12:20.
I will post back once I get back.

    Yep thats it..
I used a code for 10% off and it came to 46..
I don't imagine I will get it cheaper anywhere else.
The only thing is , I probably won't have it on launch day :(

So are HMV honoring the €380 for preorders or not, conflicted posts on the thread regarding it

I went in yesterday. They are honoring mine.

HMV Liffey Valley told me I was first in their pre-order list, and that yes, they'd be honoring the price, and that they'd *possibly* be opening at 8am. Recommended to call during the week to confirm with them. See ya there Friday morning? :pac:

    *EDIT*
They also said that they have to point out to some people that they might not be able to get their console until December 15th. I'd give them a bell if I were you just to double check!

Hmm, should be very interesting to see what pans out...was it a manager or just a till worker you were talking to? The guy I spoke to today seemed unsure, couldn't give me a straight answer really barring my pre order is on the system at the old price & as such I 'should' get it for that price. He was aware of the price increase, but stated nothing has come down from head office about price changes for pre-orders.

He was also unsure of the opening time on Friday  What time are you gonna be there?

The guy I was talking to got the girl that is the "Games Manager" to confirm it with me. I'll probably be giving them a call/visit tomorrow to double check what time they'd be open. She'd said to me it'd depend, but they will probably be open at 8. I'm due in work at 10, so I'll be in early if they are!

    Why?

    Good deal at harvey's. :9
I just couldn't stomach cancelling my gamestop pre-order and having to spend the 380 in store there. Would be a far worse robbery.

I have it booked in Gamestop so €420 for the console and I want three games, Mario, Mass Effect 3 and Batman so €180 for them plus €420 is €600.

I could get an Xbox with 10 top games or a 500gb PS3 with 8 top games and still have change enough from both to buy New Super Mario Bros 2 for my 3DS and more. I am going to take today and tomorrow to decide if I want my WiiU or not as I am sure there is a queue of people that would buy it if I canceled my deposit.

Just back from HMV Henry st.
Handed in my pre-order receipt, girl typed it in.
Told her the concern I had, she knew nothing about the price change and confirmed that my premium will cost 350.
She said there is a bit of hassle getting stock and that peoples orders are in bits and pieces, what she meant I don't really know.
I presume extra controllers and games might not be ready on launch day or something.
Just need to check what time they are opened on Friday now.

Spoke with HMV and they haven't got their stock in yet so have to wait for them to phone me back.

Are u gonna try and sell it for a profit??

Yeah I definetely want to buy a bigger longer lasting batterry but that one looks terrible very bulky and just doesnt fit the controller well

I am thinking of cancelling the order as it would be to much hassle to sell it on, If I do buy it and want to sell I will be selling it at cost price but that is for another day and place, not here.

If the headset has a 3.5mm jack it'll work. So long as the game supports voicechat.

But is a new console, it's an investment into the next 5 years not a short-term/last 5 years of the other console's library.
That's how I think of it anyway.

yesterday i sent in an email to a gaming site about the HMV situation before it was sorted out and they posted it in the readers emails section. they site just contacted me there saying that surprisingly HMV have contacted them asking for my email address so that they could assure me that they will honour the price.

Thats a pretty good result, fair play.

So, I am rethinking I want the black wiiu now, Hhavent preordered at all, anywhere, in Dublin.
What are the chances of getting one between now and the next two weeks?

    What are the actual prices?
I see Ign have the UK prices up etc here http://ie.ign.com/articles/2012/11/27/wii-u-uk-launch-guide

I would like Nintendo Land but I can see that going for €12 in the new year so ZombieU and MarioU maybe.

Argh, do i need a WiiU?

Nevertheless, it shows if your prepared to rant about it, they're quick to avoid negative publicity over it.
