Crap, couldn't resist SFIV: AE complete for $14, so that means I now have to buy an arcade stick for my laptop!

    Bought Dawnguard and Walking Dead.

Have to say, Walking Dead is quite possibly the best game I've played all year.

So was there a new flash deal at 4 and 10? Or are they done now?

I've held out all week, telling myself that there will be a Christmas sale next month and most of the stuff I want could be discounted heavier.

But I REALLY want The Testament of Sherlock Holmes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,564 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Managed to get through without buying anything.

Was very tempted by Borderlands 2 when it was 50% off but I have a feeling it's already been bought for me as a Christmas present and I couldn't get in touch with herself in time to check. If not I'll pick it up in the Christmas Sale.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,752 ✭✭✭pablomakaveli

    So far i've picked up:

    Age Of Empires 3
    The Walking Dead
Civ V GOTY and Gods and Kings expansion
    Galactic Civilizations 2
    Hotline Miami
    Stacking
    Hearthfire for Skyrim
Company of Heroes: Tales Of Valour
    Star Wars KOTOR 2
    To The Moon

Spent a lot more than i intended but happy with what i bought. Cant see myself buying a lot in the Christmas sale now though since i own a lot of the games ive wanted on Steam.

I think its crazy people buy so many games. (That they'll never even have the time to play!)

Gone are the days were you had a Sega with 3 or 4 games for 4 years and still got great entertainment out of it....

...although being 5 or 6, the attention span was probably a factor :D (Also, still have never cleared Sonic 1. These days i can't even get past sector 2!)

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,028 ✭✭✭witnessmenow

I surprised how much i bought,l and I would have bought more if I wasnt pretty broke :)

    Sleeping Dogs
    Walking Dead
    Garys Mod
Mark of the Ninja (excellent game so far anyways)

I'm really glad to see that someone else bought this.

A really lovely story, if not that great of a "game".

It's crazy alright. But when they are the price of a pint or lower, I'd usually jump on it. They will have rehab centres for Steam sale addicts in the near future, I reckon. Setting me alarm for 3am to check the flash sales during the summer was a sign.

In the end I got nothing; there were a few twiches but they where not at a "Shot me if I don't buy it at that price just in case" as I got to much sitting around and I think the Christmas sale will be better (and I know what game(s) I've gotten which held my hand on a few as well).

Seems my only purchase from these sales will be Skyrim from Gamefly. Well ****ing done AIB, yet another reason I want to get away from you guys.

    Disciples 3 Gold - 75% off
    Orcs must die 2 - 75% off
    Civ 5 expansion - 75% off
    Tropico 4 - got two DLCs I didn't have - 80% off

Witcher 2 was tempting but I didn't like the first one at all, so didn't go for it. Walking Dead, only 50% off so I'll wait for the next sale.

    So, final tally:

    Max Payne 3
Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion
    Sanctum

    About €30 spent in total.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,792 ✭✭✭Grumpypants

I bought 1 game and then started playing it and have not bought anything else. It feels weird. :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 770 ✭✭✭abbir

    In the end for me

    Orcs must die 2
    Max Payne 3
    Dead Island
Star Wars KOTOR 1/2 (which I already have on disc)

But I also got Skyrim, Walking Dead and Sleeping Dogs from other sites.

    Damn sales.

Let us know what it's like, might pick it up at xmas sale

Haven't bought anything in this sale - I rock! Finally got that discipline thing going. Alan Wake's even on my wishlist but I'm sure it will be similarly discounted during the Christmas sale... I think Steam might be shooting themselves in the foot by adding additional sales during the year, I can't believe it can be working for them, but what do I know! There just isn't much of a reason to stockpile games anymore, knowing that the next sale, with equal reductions, is no more than a few months away.

Well I have the original SoaSE which is, imo, absolutely great so I'm assuming this is going to be better.

Should you not be thanking them? :p

    Mass effect 1 & 2
(Picked up 3 on Special on Origin)

    Mark of the Ninja
    Orcs Must die 2.

Not bad considering other steam sales.. Not long till the Xmas sale..

I remember I was bricking it after the last sale because after I downloaded everything, about 150gb, it occurred to me that we might have a download limit on our internet in which case we were going to get a massive bill and my housemates would kill me. But thankfully we don't.
