I started off using a "Marlboro-like" juice as I couldn't get my head around flavoured cigs. After 2 days I ordered flavoured juice and would never go back to cigarette flavoured ones now.

i flirted briefly with fruity/sweet juices, and I still like one or two of them but 90% of what I vape are tobacco juices. 2 years off the cigarettes but I just prefer the flavour of the tobaccos.

Can you buy these in a pharmacy or are they available online only?

    I'm a B&H smoker.

Go to the vaping forum, a sub forum of smoking. You'll get all the info you need. Sir Digby Chicken really helped myself and my husband out at the time, and we had lots of questions!

No worries TS. I'll research some more tomorrow.Got the gist that you can inhale any flavour 'juice' with these things.

    Any weird juice flavours?

there' a shop on gardiner st in dublin I think.. ovale have a shop there, they sell their own branded stuff. pretty sure it's more expensive than online, but you'll get that when you have to pay rent, pay staff, etc etc

the best places to get them are online, there's about 15 irish sites so orders generally come in next day post and shipping is cheap

I bought my first one of these about 4 fcuking years ago.

What's it like to be 10 minutes behind the rest of the world?

Tone down your posting style or find another forum to post in.

    Seriously?
    Don't spam your message

YOU may want lots of people to see your message but they may not want to see it. Pick a forum that is MOST suitable for your message and post it there. Once. If you want it to be seen further afield on the site then consider putting a link in your signature, but leave it as a simple link, don’t make it conspicuous. If it’s truly straddles two forums' remits then ask the moderators of the forums what they recommend.

If I were to post here extolling the virtues of a new phone/iPad/TV programme/football game it would get shifted to the appropriate forum double quick. Why are e-cigs different?

Querying a moderator's actions on thread is not permitted as it drags threads off topic. However there are a number of paths of appeal you can take. If you are unhappy with a moderator's actions then private message the moderator in question to query it. We won't bite.

    uh-oh jimoslimos...

65 days off the cigs so far, thanks to my Imist vaporiser. That amounts to 1300 cigs not smoked and 600 euro or so saved, minus the 90 euro that two vaporisers and enough e-liquid to see me through until March cost.
Leaving the health ramifications aside, and I think it's clear not inhaling burning plant material is an obvious health improvement, these are no-brainers from the financial perspective, not to mention the convenience of being able to get a nic fix at sports events, concerts, pubs and the cinema.
One of the best decisions I ever made, I think.

Plenty of Apple threads on AH.

The products have a use that many mightn't know. The OP isn't shilling a product, it's bringing useful information to a wider audience.

    Well done Cavehill Red!

Ta mate. Here's the strange thing though. I actually had no intention of quitting cigs when I started. I only got one for the other reasons - to bring costs down and to be able to get some nicotine in circumstances where you're forbidden from smoking.
But when I started vaping that day, I actually never lit another cigarette again. I had a half pack in front of me in the house for about two weeks, but it went untouched. Eventually I admitted to myself that I wasn't going to be needing them ever again and went out and gave them to a tramp.

Well this is a self help thread, of sorts. So turn that frown upside down :)

I've also been on this bandwagon now for a year and a half. I actually enjoy my ecig whereas I never enjoyed smoking really, just did it. I've put all my cigarette money in a savings account since and it's around the 6K mark now. Switching to ecigs is one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Well done to all who stopped smoking! Keep it up! :) Hopefully your stories of success can help and inspire others.

    I was the same.

    These things are great.

I'm married to an anti-smoker & e-cigs have saved a lot of arguments this past while.

I'm glad this thread was started & hope more people get to know about Vaping.

A very useful & informative thread on AH . \O/

A few other benefits of vaping I've noticed:

    1. The gaff doesn't stink and nor do my clothes.
    2. My palate has improved. I no longer need to make curries so spicy they'd melt the plate.
    3. You can get your nicotine in a wide variety of flavours. I'm fairly conservative, but I have enjoyed rum and ginger and menthol flavours. My mate who also vapes has a collection of dozens of liquids and varies hour to hour depending on his mood.
    4. No overflowing ashtrays.
    5. No standing in the rain outside boozers.
    6. Some of the vaporisers are really stylish. My Imist looks like an expensive pen, and you can get vaporisers like tobacco pipes, or hookahs, or wooden boxes or even the hammer of Thor.
    7. You can use them on long plane flights. If the cabin crew object, just head to the loo. They don't set off the smoke detectors.

    Great story Cavehill Red.

Well, you're a few thousand euros better off now, and your lungs are in a much better state. Fair play!

Its great there is a viable replacement for fags, but I do wonder whats going to happen with legislating these, they are functionally providing a pharmaceutical function (then again I suppose you could argue a pint of beer has pharmaceutical function), but there is none of the testing and certifying usually being performed on them it seems. The big risk is that some cowboy puts out some dodgy aerosol that makes people sick.

I've a headcold and sinusitis at the moment and I'm still breathing better than when I smoked!
