Absolute utter ****e again from the team and Wenger.

Leaves Wilshere on the bench and brings on the two clowns on the wing, lost the ball everytime. Arshavin starts tieing his laces in the 93rd min with the ball on the edge of their box.....:o

Takes off our only recognised striker for a defensive midfielder. Embarrassing! There was no urgency, no work rate. We looked happy with a point.

Villa lost their last 8 games ffs :(

Absolutely awful, what's worse than losing games is the frequency of games with this team where they just don't seem to give a ****

    Ramsey is awful.

Games like this show Walcotts worth to the team

How can you make Ramsey the scapegoat again, one of our better players second half

I wasn't making him a scapegoat or referring to just today. He slows our game down no end too many flicks, stupid passes and check backs. At one point today with 15 left he just stopped with the ball in the centre circle and walked the ball!

I hate when he starts a game just takes confidence away, he is okay off the bench

Oh alright picked ya up wrong thought there were at least 4 players worse than him today
And yeah he is frustrating at times

Gervinho drives me fcuking mental. I'd rather have Arshavin come on even if he is lazy. At least he's a proper footballer and is capable of doing something special.

Ramsey is playing terrible and was average enough today.

Wenger needs to answer for this. Why was Wilshere not brought on, why take our dangerman Chamberlain off? Why was a defensive midfielder brought on for a striker when we needed a goal? Why no striker on the bench?

Chamakh should have been on the bench at least its absolutely ridiculous. Call back Benik Afobe, promote a young player.

No striker on the bench, its just poor management plain and simple. Apparently wenger has refused an interview aswell.

If I could ask Wenger one question about today it would be why was Jack on the bench. Surely if he was on it, it was with the intention of bringing on if needed. He was needed, he was what was missing from the game.

If he wasn't fit someone like Gnarby should have been on the bench, a real option

Not bothered he didn't play, resting him is fine, but putting him on the bench with no intention of using him at the expense of another player is shocking

its no excuse, he played 90 minutes since. He was fit, he should have been brought on as a sub when needed. Either bring Wilshere on or if hes "injured" dont have him on the bench.

Tony Adams seems to think he was being saved for Everton away next week. Makes no sense, Everton is a far tougher match, 3 points here was far more achievable :(

If we played him it would have been something like 4 games in 11 days way too much for him

I agree shouldn't have been on the bench he should have giving tommy a place
But not bringing him on is def not an issue with me

Most of what Im thinking has already been said. I have a serious problem with Jenkinson though, his crossing is terrible, I cant figure out how guys who train day in day out with a football cant measure a 30 yard pass with a bit of consistancy. Also his movement down the wings is poor, how many times was he standing like a statue in the one spot.
Making the same mistakes every game really makes a person wonder what exactly do they work on in training?

I'd imagine Wilshere was only going to be thrown on if we were losing. It's too easy to point to decisions like that; I think this was one of those days we're all very used to where it didn't matter who we put on the pitch- it was always going to be a flat disinterested performance by Arsenal no matter who we brought on or took off.

Mertersacker did well; I don't get why so many rate him so lowly.

Can someone explain why we stopped crossing the ball worked ok the last two games

    No Walcott and no Sagna

It was an awful game. Have gotten immune to the poor heartless displays at this stage. You could have left watching that game this evening after 20 minutes and be safe enough to assume Arsenal would draw nil nil or lose to a goal.

You should never be allowed to feel that way but we are that one dimensional that you can.

We should have gone for the win at Villa and maybe except a draw at Everton.
This has backfired big time on Wenger. Poor decision. Three points there today for the taking.

Well Coquelin for Giroud was a little baffling to say the least

We have got very slow in the build up. None of the crisp passing we loved and are famed for. Very little movement up front either.
Ramsey takes too much out of the ball at times but he was not alone in playing poorly today. However i copied this from an article on Sky Sports football by an Arsenal fan regarding Ramsey -

"Since the start of last season, Arsenal's Premier League win % with Ramsey starting is 41% compared to 71% with him not in the first 11".

Wenger blaming fatigue, saying they had not fully recovered from Wednesday night. Every time I hear this said about professional footballers, I wonder how they would get on in a real job where they have to work 40 or 50 hours a week. Fatigue my ass, it's just another pathetic excuse for another sh1t performance.

European competition always has an impact on the following weekend's football, it's always been the case, it's hard to argue otherwise. The real problem it points to though is the lack of strength of depth of the squad. We simply don't have good enough back-up in too many areas.

I see the mail are linking us with a 10 million bid for downing

If we sign downing I give up

    And I'm a positive supporter

Terrible performance again this evening. Its either a feast or a famine we either play fantastic and create loads of chances and score lots of goals or we just fail to turn up on the day. Theres too many of the latter days in my opinion at the moment!

It's funny not being the reactionary tonight :P

Ramsey isn't too hesitant, the whole team is. I mentioned Gervinho in the match thread. The whole team is too ponderous. It's 10 years since Arsenal had any pace about them.

I'm not sure your serious here or if your joking? He cant even make the Liverpool starting XI at the minute!

I still think we'll be comfortably in 4th place but its not good enough for me because we really should be in the title race we have thrown it away ourselves.

The only sides bar the top 3 to impress me have been Everton and WBA. Neither have the squad to finish above us. Similar to Newcastle and Villa in recent years.

Poor performance today, never looked like scoring. My god we need a second striker though, sad times when were chasing a goal to win a match only to sub off Giroud and bring on Le Coq. Not good enough Wenger.
Taking off Giroud for a defensive midfielder is a fúckin baffling decision. Shambles.

    Wenger interview, from here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20482646
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said he did not have to justify his decisions after Gunners fans chanted "you don't know what you're doing" against Aston Villa.
The chant started when Wenger replaced Olivier Giroud with Francis Coquelin with two minutes left of the 0-0 draw.
"What is the thinking behind the substitution? I will not explain every decision I make," Wenger said.
"I have managed for 30 years at the top level and I have to convince you [journalists] I can manage the team?"
The result leaves Arsenal sixth in the Premier League, 10 points behind leaders Manchester United.

When asked about the chants following the game, Wenger said: "I don't want to comment on that. I do my job and do my best for the club. Why should I create a rift? I have given you the answer.
"I leave it to you to judge. I try to be as good as I can be. You are all great managers! I read the newspapers every day and I can tell you that you are always great managers!
"You judge the game for the papers and I sit here and explain to you our game. How many games have you managed? I promise you if you manage one I will sit in the stands and chant 'you know what you are doing!'
"You can discuss every substitution. You think what you want. I do my job and I let people judge it. I do that every day and I do my best every day. I know why I do it."

    ...............

And Wenger defended his decision not to play Jack Wilshere after the midfielder's long injury lay-off.
"It's more dangerous to bring him on in weather like that [wet and windy] when he's tired. It made sense for him not to play."

replace journalists with armchair managers & it Wenger way of telling you to STFU you haven't a clue :pac:

Well we had RVP last year which would boost anybodies win/play percentage.

Ramsey I think is getting a lot of slack but Chamberlain is just as guilty of holding up play and losing the ball a lot as well as others.

Gutless performance, we looked like we just didnt care after 60 minutes or 'tired' as the manager put it. We need energetic players that can move the ball fast and run at opposition players like- Rosicky and Diaby but who arent injured!

So frustrating to watch us especially after seeing utd 1 nil down and look at the efford they put in to come back.
