Some retarded opinions in here. People seen to not be able to see the team for what it is this year. It's either 'oh we're back challenging for the title' or 'our players are lazy and disinterested'.

So frustrating to watch us especially after seeing utd 1 nil down and look at the efford they put in to come back.

Meh. Effort has nothing to do with it. They just have more, and better strikers and a more settled team.

Nonetheless, their great comeback was basically reliant on QPR not being able to defend corners.

Liverpool's worst player and we're linked with him. As Miley used to say "Well Holy God"

Huge pinch of salt with that one - as unlikely as Falcao or Cavani for me

I'm pretty sure there would be a riot if Walcott went to Liverpool and Downing came to us.

Just imagine downing and gervinho in the same team :pac: You would lose your hair fairly quickly watching them.

I think the only way Downing would come to us is if Chamakh or Squillaci went the other way.

No point having Huntelaar in the squad if he cant get a supply.

Giroud might as well have staying in london yesterday for all the support he got.

Saying that Id love to see Klass playing with us, but I cant see Arsene buying him

Says a lot when Giroud had to create what was arguably our best chance of the game more or less on his own.

i can't believe how little we created when we have Jack and Santi in the team. Even Arteta. Was a real downer of a performance.

I know it sounds like a lame excuse, but the lashings of rain and super wet pitch didn't help either. Chelsea and City played in similar conditions today and also played out a dull 0-0 draw where both teams, despite having huge quality between them, struggled to create clear cut chances. So, I wouldn't be overly upset about drawing a blank at Villa Park. It's a bit frustrating alright, but not the disaster some would make it out to be.

Big teams in post champions league funk.

Happens all the time but no-one ever gives it any credit.

Thing about us these days lads is there just isnt the pace and cohesian in the team that there once was! It is hard to imagine that it was only 8 years ago of our great invincibles team the best side ever to grace the Premier Lge :-(

There's no cohesion for a reason. The clubs transfer policy is ridiculous, we practically have a new team every 2 years. Our attack in particular don't have very much playtime together at all

    Giroud - new
    Podolski - new, Cazorla - new, Gervinho/Chamberlain - 1 season, Walcott experienced
Arteta - 1 season, Jack - 1 season but hasn't played with any of our midfield/attack bar Walcott so basically new

Is it because of the new stadium that weve had to sell our best players or is this just club policy under Kroenke? Ita very worrying how much we are regressing over the past few years, how many world class players can you honestly say we have in our team? Sagna and Cazorla maybe??? When you look back at the team we had of years gone by, Lehmann, Campbell, Lauren, Ljunberg, Pires, Vieira, Gilberto, Reyes, Henry, Bergkamp etc all world class players with the likes of Fabregas, Edu, Wiltord, Kanu on the bench!!! Wenger has to be applauded for the consistency of finishing top 4 especially the past few years with lets face it, a team that is a former shadow of what it once was.

Maybe but 20 points out of a possible 39 is a poor return after 13 games.
We need to turn on the gas soon as that is just not good enough for Arsenal.

Reyes was never world class TBF.

Part new stadium, part emergence of City and Chelsea, part age profiles of our squad.

Maybe not but he didnt really fulfill his potential, but one thing is sure. He would walk into this team we have at the minute.

Even look at defenders, Vermaelan and Kos are clowns compared to the likes of Keown and Campbell. If Mertesacker wasnt in our back 4 we would be shipping alot more goals than we are now.

Henry, Bergkamp & Vieira are the only world class players you mentioned there

I reckon Campbell and Cesc were/are world class, maybe got a bit carried away with Freddie and Bobby Pires but they were great players for us and would walk into our current team as would Gilberto & Lehmann and not to mention Cashley

I'm not convinced Reyes is better than Podolski or Walcott TBH.

Fabregas was only a boy then though with the rest of the players/team your mentioning him in with

but went on to be as you say, maybe that's what you meant first but i took it up wrong.

with cashley i'd say he only became world class after he left arsenal

campbell, pires probably even ljungberg & gilberto i'd class as just under world class players

I think partially it's to do with the debt of the stadium, mainly i think it's because of the insane money that barca, real and the sugar daddy clubs are willing to pay on wages and transfer fees.

As for reyes, for 2 months he was world class, then the nevilles and scholes triumvirate of evil got him and he was never the same.
