£30 million a year. How does that compare to other clubs' deals?

Utd. signed a 7 year deal from 2014-15 worth £25 million a year with Chevrolet. Sounds like we got a fantastic deal.

Not really when the stadium name is also tied down until 2028.

And wasn't the Chevrelet deal just for the training kit?

Bah i was hoping we'd get KFC.

Anything on the stadium name? it just said a shirt deal and the stadium name was just 10 years wasn't it?

    taken from The Independent(english version)
Emirates will remain shirt sponsors until 2019 while the agreement also includes a seven-year extension to the existing deal over stadium naming rights until 2028.

The contract, which was revealed in today’s Evening Standard, is being hailed as the second biggest shirt sponsorship deal of all-time behind Manchester United’s seven-year agreement with Chevrolet worth around £51m per season, which commences next season.

That verdict is somewhat clouded by the fact the overall figure includes a sum to continue naming Arsenal’s ground ‘Emirates Stadium’ but, regardless, chief executive Ivan Gazidis considers it a landmark moment for the club.

Gazidis has been under pressure to justify his £2.1m salary and has always insisted the renegotiation of this contract and a new kit deal — Arsenal are thought to be close to confirming a lucrative agreement with adidas to replace Nike — would enable the club to compete financially with the game’s powerhouses.

The previous Emirates agreement, stuck in 2004, was worth £100m and Gazidis said: “The original deal with Emirates was a key facilitator of our move from Highbury and this next phase of our relationship will be just as critical to keep us at the top of the game in England and Europe.”

Read somewhere we've gone from 5.5m per year to 30m per year, the adidas thing could be worth 10m+ extra per year and the extra money from tv rights (which is next year I think) looks like another 20m extra per year.

    Spend money please?!

I heard Wenger will buy a striker from Barnet youth team and put the rest away for a rainy day

YAYY - We should save the money so we have record breaking profits instead of wasting it on signings!

No eisfield or gnarby in the u21s this afternoon
Call up to first team squad with us having two games in 5 days maybe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,783 ✭✭✭emergingstar

Also I no we have more money now and I reckon we might pay a litter higher to get out targets
But if wenger can't get whoever he wants I reckon he jut won't spend instead of going off signing someone else
It don't matter how much extra we have

Yes 'm a bit worried about some of our ever-presents this season, they may suffer a bit of a dip if not rested soon.

Apparently the deal with Emirates is front-loaded so now we have even more money available for transfers, going to be interesting what Wenger does is January now.

As for Saturday I'd say Gnabry and Esifeld both be in with a shot of making appearances against Villa, we'll need to rotate and rest players for Everton.

I know were a bunch of sceptics in here:), but it will be interesting in the least to see what the board and Wenger do with the extra income.

Even if they dont change its going to be harder and harder for the club to keep rolling out the same old excuses with the new deal and and reported Addidas deal to come.

Looks like we will be renewing rivalries with Happy Harry again as it looks like he's going to manage QPR. Bring it on.

Just watched an ESPN special about Dennis Bergkamp. Can we buy him with our money?? What a player he was, I was 7 when we won the league in 98 so he was my first real footballing idol. Proper Arsenal legend.

    End of jizzfest

Two big games coming up, if we got 6 points from them it really would be fantastic, Goodison Park will be a tough place to go, particularly with Fellaini back from suspension.

Arsenal as a club have so much money now they could afford to clear all the banks debt in Ireland!

I used be against foreign rule (still am to a degree) but now i feel we should hand the country over to Wenger. In fairness he'd probably even fight tooth and nail to keep our corporate tax rate :) Any aspiring business could do worse then copying the Arsenal model.

I actually love big Per, I model my own personal game on his, the way he reads it is usually exceptional, he's a fantastic organiser and his timing of challenge is excellent.. we're also both big gangly and as slow as an Olympic Shotputter
