Put it up...and boobytrap it! ;)

Just put it up! I'm sure you can compromise. If not, I would definitely suggest bullying in this situation!!! :pac:

Oh that sounds good, warm mulled wine is fantastic at Christmas ( well at any time of year TBH ). Love Galway, been ages since I was there. Now would be the perfect time methinks.

The 6 foot inflatable Santa Clause, accompanied by flashing lights across the road from me, is now getting slightly annoying.

    Bah Humbug.

    I'll be fine come December.

Just buy something for 25 or 30 euro and wrap it up nice, the limit is 50 doesn't mean you have to spend that much, it's the thought not the price!

That was actually said today my mam said ''Just because its 50
doesnt mean you HAVE to spend it thats just the max spend 30 if you want''
and she was interrupted immediatley by my 4 older siblings saying ''No no thats not fair you have to spend 50''

Where are you supposed to get 50e for each of them at 16?

Thats madness, you can get something nice for a tenner. Its the thought that counts :)

This is my first time not being in Ireland for Christmas. Not only that, but I'm not even in the right hemisphere, it's summer!

I thought I was fine with that until I started looking through this thread, but it's making me yearn for those cool, crisp winter evenings, Christmas decorations lining the streets in town, a warm crumbly mince pie and a drop of mulled wine. :(

It should be illegal for grown men and women to wear onesies  They look particularly bad on men though. Who wants to be with a man who is dressed up like a baby?:D:D:D
they start to look more attractive with each gas bill :(

I love the An Post Christmas advert with the 'Walking in the Air" theme from The Snowman.

I must have seen this a million times as a kid and I just now noticed how he over does rolling his r's at every given opportunity.

    Oh love this thread!

I put my tree up tonight, took me ages! It came in 40 bits and I didn't actually think it would take as long but it's beautiful :) and I only have the lights on!! Will finished the tree tomorrow and put up the rest of the decorations then :)

In relation to some one asking has a tree ever stayed up all year Round? When I was living with a few friends in Limerick years ago our Christmas tree was out until about Feb, then someone moved it as far as the landing upstairs with the intention of throwing it in the attic. It stayed , dressed , on the landing for another 2 or 3 months and eventually it went up into the attic!!
