I find they generally stock a whole lot of things for Christmas and a lot for the family.

Add a bit of 'Love Actually' or 'Bad Santa' or 'Elf' on the telly and that will be my house exactly when I am putting up the tree :D

Ahh Home Alone. I think I know every word of every bit of it. My sister was a tad obsessed with it as a child! (and still a bit as an adult!)

I think An Post does something with them. My mum says that when we were little Santa used to go on the radio and say hi to everyone he'd gotten a letter from, by name. I don't remember it at all, but she insists that we used to sit and wait for our names to be read so that we'd knew he'd gotten our letters.

Oh, and they do get read, and not just binned on receipt. I once got a letter which referenced something I'd written in my letter so, at least in the 80s, letters to Santa were read by someone at An Post.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2236382/Celebrities-fuel-trend-onesies-Asda-stockpiles-ONE-MILLION-time-Christmas.html

"Sales of onsies in ASDA have gone up by 606 percent, with one million stockpiled for Christmas... Debenhams have also see an increase of 155 percent.

So the odds are someone here is going to give/receive a onsie this year.
Mine is very comfy, it's a bunny rabbit one with ears and tail, would never go out in it, but I have answered the door with it on a few times.

Do you already own one, would you be happy to receive this as a Christmas present ?.

An Post open all the Santa letters and they send out a special Santa letter in response.

I remember receiving the An Post Santa letter as kid and now my six year old loves to receive them.
From An Post: In your letter clearly write your (child's) name and address. Post your letter to: Santa Claus, North Pole (using a 55c stamp). Santa's helpers in An Post will make sure you receive a personal reply from the great man himself, just before Christmas.

    More Christmas Adverts

This old ESB advert always reminds me of one of my favourite parts of Christmas - meeting family and friends who come home for Christmas!

Christmas tree arriving on Monday at my place of work, 22 ft tall indoors, it took six guys to put it up last year (probably about 2 hours) it took 3 girls 3 hours to decorate it, the guest seem to love it (pictures being taken all the time by guests with their friends standing in front of it),

I don't have a proper camera but one of the guys I work with does so I hope to get some pictures and put them up for you guys to give your opinions,

they have done it every year for the last 6 years, I do hate the clean up after it.
