Planning on pre ordering this, just wondering can I trade games against a pre order? Wouldn't mind off loading AC3 while its still popular. Thanks!

    Yeah, they can.
But I'd say with no certain release date they will probably just give you a gift card with the money on it.

Can you still get the posters in xtravision?

One of the things I can't wait to do (and something I did a lot in SA) is find the biggest, most awkward vehicle and try to drive it to the top of mount chilliad. You get the challenge of keeping it on the narrow winding tracks, with the satisfaction of seeing a fire truck or dump truck on top of the mountain.
And then you get to jump off the side.
    Hours of fun!

For the **** boaty handling in IV, Park your car half in the water (Not so far in to lose it) and shoot the wheel-arch and the suspension will collapse and make the car stiffer and lower.

The reason for parking in water is so if it goes on fire the water quenches it. :)

    Does that really work?

Though this was pretty cool, someone animated the artwork and made a trailer out of it.

Yup, I mostly do it with the muscle cars... (Dodge Chargers) and I can drift them.

Do people think MT. Chillad will be explorable or will there just be one road up the top. In SA it was a bit one dimensional looking back.

I like how they have decided to make money have more use, not not quite sure how that doesn't include buying property and businesses though?

"expansive environment includes beachfronts, wine country, a large wilderness area surrounding a fully explorable Mt. Chiliad, a Salton Sea region, a military base, and of course the sprawling suburban hills leading up to the bustling urban centre of Los Santos."

Looks like a Gorillaz music video

Ermahgerd. I only looked at this thread for the first time in a few weeks last night and read througha good 30, 40 posts per page, pages since then. Getting a new Xbox next month, gonna get GTAIV and the DLCs and play the absolute shít out of them alongside RDR until this comes out.

I originally wanted a CJ kind of character, but I'm fairly delighted with the 3 that are gonna be in it, Trevor especially! He reminds me of the Aryan Brotherhood fella from Sons Of Anarchy, minus the whole racism craic.

Rockstar just clarified that the graphics we saw in the trailer 2 was the actual gameplay footage.

    http://www.product-reviews.net/2012/11/17/gta-v-trailer-graphics-clarified-by-rockstar/
As with all our games trailers, it was made entirely from in-game footage and nothing was pre-recorded

    :)

No they didn't. in-game footage can be cutscenes, which are also rendered in real time.

    :)

One would assume that when Rockstar say "in game" that includes cut scene footage as well as gameplay footage.

The train crash and the car/boat chase are clearly cut scene footage and not actual gameplay.

How much different we're the cut scene graphics in GTA IV compared to actual gameplay ? Not very much. I doubt there'll be much difference with V aswell.

    See above.

Does anyone else keep mis-reading the thread title as "GTA V is OUT!"?

I just see the words in capitals first and my brain plays tricks on me. :(

Could be, Id say this game will definitely be out in late Q2 2013, Q2 being between 1st Jan - 31st March.

If I were to put money on it I would say it would be out on the 31st March or the 1st of April. That would maximise Rockstars profits for the upcoming quarter which is normal tactics from a business point of view.

Just my two cents, pure speculation. If Paddy Power were taking money, my money would be on 31/3/13 or 1/4/13.

EDIT: The 1st is a Monday, So im going to say the 1st of April or the 2nd.

    So Q1 2013 is Oct-Dec2012? How does that work?

Thats the way the fiscal year runs in the US because of the time their budget is released. If the budget came out on the 1st day of the year then Q1 would start then I suppose.

Did anyone else take notice of the huge arena in the background when the train is going past the bus?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,544 ✭✭✭Hogzy

There is a chance that Rockstar have their own fiscal year, alot of huge corporations do.

Aye, fairly sure it's the LA Memorial Coliseum.
