So how many discs do you reckon the 360 version will need?

La Noire was at one stage 6 but when they shortened the game down such as removing the burglary desk it became 3.

Apparently the game was squeezed onto a PS Blue-Ray disc with little room to spare.

Okay, I probably shouldn't have allowed the PMing like I have, so no more asking (not saying you can't PM someone who does have them, just saying to stop asking or hinting for them on the thread). Lads, just Google it. Honestly. They're all over the place at this stage.

I've been as lenient as I can.but from now on can we stick to just discussion.

Just in the door and after having a flick through the magazine.

Have to say, graphically it looks quite good, though I'll admit I'm not quite sold on the multiple protagonists thing. I think R* are taking the game a little bit too seriously. I don't think rollerblading, for example, in IV would've detracted from the Niko character.

Rockstar seem to be doing the multi protag thing so the extra minigames and such features can be more realistic for that character to perform. I think that's looking way too far into it. Side games and missions like that were just for fun. I know R* are heavily involved in the game and characters, but I think they're getting a bit silly by doing things like that.

Regardless, I'm sure they'll do a good job, they always have done so, but I'll be interested to see how they pull this off. It kinda looks like they're making changes for the sake of making changes at this stage (and while I agree that they should, to keep the series fresh, I also think that a winning formula (past GTA games) should be well protected).

Also, the claim of it being bigger than SA, IV an RDR probably isn't true, I wouldn't say. I'd say it's true more so on a technical level than a practical one (ie; the buildings are probably wider and taller, and when you flatten the world out, it spreads out further than the others. I doubt it's actually that wide).

It being only one city is an interesting change though.

They say its so that the player can always be involved in the action. Instead of having to be the getaway driver like you often where, you can choose to be the guy shooting out the back of the van.

The minigames dont seem to have been a determining factor. If anything, it sounds like the unique games were decided upon after the three characters were already done.

Inside and outside areas, rather than just land mass.

Here's an interesting one, there was a guy on GTA Forums who made a thread on March 25th. Claimed to be an ex R* employee and leaked the three lead character names.

Turns out, he was spot on!

    http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=504969&hl=

Turns out, also, that GTA V was originally set for a Summer 2010 release!

EDIT: Sorry, in that thread, he got one of the names wrong, but apparently somewhere along the way the consensus is that R* changed the character's forename name (he apparently got the surname right). This is all spread across different threads, and I'm not doing the looking/digging myself, but the GTAForums users are checking it out as they're now fascinated by it, and I'm just posting back what they found/find.

Haha I'd say Adrian is kicking himself now for not believing him. But then again, who would of ? Ah well, some things turn out true, some don't :P

He "guessed" Michael, Trevor and Albert, R* are giving us Michael, Trevor and Franklin.

Even if he was just guessing, that'd be incredible accuracy!

The three protags thing is very interesting and I like the idea of deciding what job I want to do in the mission. In terms of GTA, that is pretty groundbreaking and it adds a massive dynamic that I've thought about multiple times in the past when playing previous releases: "Aw why do I have to fly?!" etc.

But then when they mentioned the idea that they do their own thing when you're not playing as them gave me flashbacks to the nightmares of playing the sims 10 years ago and trying to get one sim to learn another artistic level while the retarded roomate is busy setting the house on fire. I hope none of that happens in this game...

Which character is which, can anyone tell me?

No big voice actors this time round. :(
And apprently they're going for the whole Pachino/de Niro HEAT scene with bank robberies playing a big part of the game....kinda cool, Heat was awesome.
GTA 5 "evolves nearly every mechanic" found in previous games in the series.
Features the biggest open world in the series' history - GTA 5's world is bigger than the worlds of Red Dead Redemption, San Andreas and GTA IV combined.
Three playable characters who you can switch between "at nearly any time".
Each character has their own specific abilities and story arc, with all three stories intertwined.
Camera zooms out to a "Google Earth-style" perspective when switching characters.
Character 1 - Michael, an ex-bank robber in his early 40s who retired after making a deal with the FIB. He has two teenage children and hates his wife Amanda. He's also the narrator of the original GTA 5 trailer.
Character 2 - Trevor, a former war veteran and a "drugged out psychopath". An experienced pilot.
Character 3 - Franklin, a repo man in his mid 20s described as a "young and ambitious hustler".
Certain characters from GTA IV and Episodes From Liberty City will also make an appearance. Rockstar's Dan Houser says we'll never see characters from the PS2 era, though. "The five PS2 games are one universe, and this is the high definition universe, so they don't co-exist," he says.
No major actors cast as any of the main characters.
Focus on making more diverse missions.
Heists and bank robberies are a big theme to the game.
Characters will work together during missions, and you can switch between characters mid-mission to fulfill different roles. For example, during a chase sequence you can pilot the getaway helicopter as Trevor, snipe pursuing pilots as Franklin, or fire an assault rifle as Michael.
Missions will have a "very diiferent tone depending on who's on them, how many people are on them, and how much we're using switches", says Houser.
Even when you're not controlling them, each character will still go about their own business across Los Santos. "You may be surprised by the situations they find themselves in should you switch back to check up on them," says Game Informer.
Big advances to lighting and shader model. Greater draw distance.
Improved vehicle handling and physics - "The cars hold to the ground better... It feels more like a racing game," Houser says.
More vehicles than in any GTA to date, including BMXs, mountain bikes, road bikes, dirt bikes, cars, trucks, helicopters, planes, ATVs and Jet Skis, but vehicle manufacturers are still fictional.
Fighter jets appear to be in. One screenshot shows a fighter equipped with missiles, as a helicopter explodes in the background.
Improved shooting and melee combat. Melee combat "never going to be as big a deal as shooting," though, warns Houser.
Pedestrians are fully mo-capped and more interactive.
You can rappel down buildings, although it's not confirmed whether this is specific to certain missions.
Los Santos is described as a "huge and diverse city", combining the best of Red Dead Redemption's "large open expanses" with GTA IV's "densely packed urban environment".
Areas in the game world include beachfronts, mountains, the wilderness, a "Salton Sea" region, a military base and the suburbs.
GTA: San Andreas was about gang culture. GTA 5 is about capturing the "contemporary culture of LA".
There will be a "vibrant and fun" economy, but you won't be able to buy property.
A variety of different side missions and "more sophisticated" minigames, including yoga, triathlons, Jet Skiing, base-jumping, tennis and golf. There's a full golf course in the game. You can go scuba diving along the coastline of Los Santos, or go to the gym on the seafront.
Each character will have unique hobbies, including "one or two key minigame activities per character".
San Andreas' RPG-like player customization is still absent, but you can customize the clothing of each character.
GTA IV's romance feature has been removed.
Like in GTA IV, players can make friends and hang out with certain NPCs, including Michael's wife Amanda and son Jimmy, Franklin's "crazy friend" Lamar, and Trevor's mate Ron.
GTA IV's mobile phone returns, but a lot of its features have been altered. You can use it to access the internet.
Dynamic missions - hidden missions dotted around the game world. "Going off-road in the desert, you may come across two parked cars and a sea of dead bodies around them... Investigate if you want."

Well they said real estate is off the agenda from what i gathered, wouldn't mind seeing car dealerships with cars you don't see driving around the streets.

I'm also looking forward to the side quest type scenario they've introduced.Might be a good initiative for them to increase DLC down the road?

Which character is which, can anyone tell me?

Michael is the middle aged white guy in the trailer. Former bank robber now in witness protection with his wife, son and daughter.

Trevor is the white guy on the quad. He's white trailer trash and is nuts. He also a former military pilot.

Franklin is the black guy with the dog. He works for a repo company but has ambitions to be something bigger.

Franklin is the repo man with the dog in the art work.
