The big snow.

Starting to get very cold and I'm hearing whisperings of a white winter. One old fella up the road went as far as to say that someone'll probably be kilt it'll be that bad.

Are you prepared for it ? Got the long Johns airing out ? Snow shoes (wellies) at the ready ? Moved your coal bunker into the bedrooms and the beds into the hotpress ?

If not I fear old man Marley up the road will be proven right yet again (he predicted the current Euro crisis - "Whats a fcukin Euro" he used to say and he was spot on) and someone will end up been kilt.

Not me though cos I'm no fool. I still have all my snow gear I bought for the snow that never came last year. ;)

You wouldn't want to be wearing a kilt in a blizzard.

These long range forecasts are a load of poxology if you ask me.

Where's MT Cranium when you need him?

No, but then I'm not in Ireland :D. I am mildly concerned about -20C tempetures, but fthen there's always the all-day sauna.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Every year there are tossers going around saying how there is going to be a big snow this year when in reality they don't know what the f*ck they're on about and it never happens and I'm sick of listening to it. Granted there was a fair bit of snow a few years ago and it f*cked up my skiing trip when Dublin airport got closed, but most of the time these people are wrong.

Long range forecasts are almost pure guesswork, there is no point paying heed to anything that predicts specifics more than 4 days in advance.

I hope it snows from December 24th to December 27th and then goes away. It'd be lovely on Christmas when I don't have to go anywhere but the novelty wears off pretty fast when you have yucky grown up things to do.

The supermarket is a 20 minute walk away when theres no snow, I have a 2 year old...pushing a buggy through snow is NO FUN!

    It would take hours!

Home cooked meals are a bonus though

Seriously though, stock up on a few bags of salt, chains for the wheels of the car, grub and plenty of firing. You'll be sorry when your stuck in your driveway wheels spinning, afraid to get out and walk for fear of falling while painfully starving and freezing in equal measure and slowly dying of sorrow from hearing your own pitiful fruitless pleas for help.

Leave the 2 yr old at your parents, you party till the snow goes away! :)
