    An 071 went light engine SB through Goolds Cross this morning and possibly the same one NB about 2 hours later with ballast wagons. Wan't in a position to get number but certainly sounded good!

    086 and 072 are side by side in Ballina yard this weekend. 083 is in Claremorris with a ballast train. 088-Waterford yard.

    078 in ballina on a liner may 2010 she was a great loco and not long after that it got very ill and was taken out of service for a major overhaul hope she will return some day ,

    Today 082 belted through Killester at 14:30 with the tara empties. What a noise it made. 083 was outside Connolly shed at 14:40 along with 230 and 209 was around back on the turntable siding. Rare to see 3 locos at once in Connolly these days.

    well im in the wrong section my apologies in advance but here is a pic of 146 in feb 2010 on the ballast stabled in a winter postcard setting :Dit was so cold using my phone that day :) here it goes anyway...think it was 1 of the last workings she done on irish rail great to see that she is still in perfect working order in downpatrick,

    Lovely pic. They were a brilliant loco they gave some service. I regularly go on YouTube just to hear that fantastic emd sound.

    And 3 years later 087 is one of four 071s still wearing IE orange. She'll get out of Inchicore some day after her rust treatment is complete.

    083 was coupled to 1 timber wagon in Westport at 1230 today. the bogies on the wagon were been worked on.

    082 worked the N-Wall - Ballina IWT while 226 worked the Ballina-N-Wall IWT
    Also noted going through Portharlington this morning was 073 on a Limerick - Inchicore Wagon transfer.

    Hi Jamie. 088 worked the empty timber into Westport. 073 worked todays laden Ballina-Waterford timber which passed through Manulla Junction at 1650.

    082 and 083 joined together at Inchicore. One had failed in Ballina and was taken to Heuston for repairs.
