Great comeback tonight by the gooners and i think think walcott should be given a chance as a striker.Himself and Giroud linked up well tonight.Possible partnership?

Gervinho is supposedly 50/50 to play due to the ankle injury he picked up against QPR. In which case I'm hoping Giroud starts up front with Podolski and Ox out wide. Walcott definitely deserves 20 minutes against Man U, if it wasn't for the 120 mins he played tonight I'd love for him to start.

Front 6 of Wilshere, Arteta, Cazorla behind Walcott, Giroud and Podolski is how we should start on Sat. Having Santos at LB is giving me nightmares though, Valencia will have a field day against him. Is Gibbs close?

Lads gervinho is injured out for about a month

We will prob see podolski, giroud and Ramsey front three

I have a sneaky feeling he will go podolski up top though with giroud on the bench

Intelligence-wise there is a chasm between Giroud and Gervinho but they are entirely different players with different uses.
I would play Giroud and Walcott as twin strikers against Utd. Double threat.

I said earlier in the thread I think that could work too. Walcott playing off the big man could be great. Can't see Wenger going to 4-4-2 though, would probably play Walcott deeper.

Podolski will probably play left-side of midfield with instructions to get back and cover for Santos. Something he failed to do of late. Ramsey could find himself on the bench with Ox on the right and Giroud up front on his own. Arteta, Jack and Santi in the middle. Walcott will probably be on the bench.
I didn't know Gervinho was injured so I am changing my formation.

Ox is injured too, think he likes Ramsey right side to keep possession
I think Gibbs is fit for the weekend too

I'd go with giroud podolski Ramsey front three myself, plenty of options from the bench too lads who's confidence will be buzzing after tonight

I looked up livescore when i got back from my run and i nearly fell off the chair when i seen it was 5-4 and then to discover we were 4-0 down. And the drama wasnt over yet.

Absolutely insane game. Reading have been involved in a few over the years. They lost 7-4 v Pompey and 6-4 v Spurs the same season.

Of course we were involved with the 5-3 v Chelsea last year and the infamous 5-4 v Spurs in 04/05 along with the 4-4 in 07/08 season

Walcott deserves a chance down the middle imo.

Only works against poor teams. Tonight being a good example, Reading were 4-0 up and gave him half the pitch to run into.

I thought Arshavin was our best player today despite getting on the scoresheet. Miquel was the worst IMO.He looked very much out of his depth.

Miquel looked poorer than last season alright. Arshavin seemed to have a freer run at things than usual, was as woeful as the rest in the first half though.

How do think this guy feels (saw it on live text thread - score was 4-2 at the time)
"I'm an Arsenal fan who actually left before getting to the game," says Joe Chapman. "I was stuck on the M4 so long the game had begun by the time I reached Junction 11. Seeing the massive queue from there to the ground I decided to cut my losses - not much point spending £8 at the car park to go and see a half of a match that only cost £15 - so turned round and came home. Just got in to see the latest score."

It's six goals (two of which are league goals).

Koscielney was very poor in the first half but Djourou was muck for it all.

In a situation like what we had today you need the most experienced guy to take things by the scruff of the neck and lead by example. I can be extremely critical of Arshavin, but I think he really put in a super shift and was instrumental for the comeback.
Speaking of players I usually have no time for, two lovely goals for Chamakh! Perhaps he will once again become a legitimate option for us?

honestly, his goal notwithstanding, I thought Kos was very poor overall. Even in the 2nd half he gave away far too many free kicks. He's been quite poor all season really. I'm not sure what's gone wrong as he was our best defender last season.

It's a strange one. The season before last he was poor enough too, back then Djourou looked like a player sure.

Also, did my eyes deceive me or was Djourou captain tonight?

    Pretty sure Kos was captain.

And have we finally found the solution to our poor record from corners ?

Djourou lead the team out and wore the armband I'm almost certain

    Play Reading every week? :pac:
Seriously though, Giroud's header was fantastic, just a pity he couldn't have saved it for Saturday. :pac:

I did come pretty close to putting that in brackets :D Seriously though, Walcott deserves a chance at being our regular corner taker after tonight.
