That could kick-start his Arsenal career.

With a bit of luck, Theo, Giroud and even  Chamakh got on the soresheet and all looked good in front of goal hopefully one of them can keep that form going we need someone to start leading the line and getting goals.

that game is giroud was brilliant, and as soon as tommy bulks up we have a serious player on our hands

    Fixed your post
Savage game for a Tuesday night even the Missus was clapping along telling me 'he's brilliant isn't he, is he your best player' about Walcott. I didn't have the energy to explain so I just nodded!

Yes they all played important parts BUT Giroud's presence changed the game. He is pure class and will be an Arsenal legend in my opinion. His cushioned header and positioning were brilliant. Brainy footballer.

I would hope so. Perhaps its a lack of confidence as Wenger practically dropped him when he was playing well back in 10/11. Arshavin really dictated that game in extra time. He tore Reading asunder.

Insane game. Absolutely incredible. Once again though lets not get too carried away. Our defence was septic as a unit. Too much ball watching and no marking. Luckily Readings was worse

Just before Readings equaliser they scuffed a chance at the back post where there was 2 free men. Their equaliser was awful altogether. 2 free men and all Arsenal men watching the ball. The full back at the right side didnt go pick up any of them either.

Walcott deserves a chance down the middle imo.

Great time for Giroud myself. Id hate to mark him. He could well cause all sorts of havoc at OT on Saturday. Id say..erm i dunno... 9-8 Arsenal :D

I think Eisfeld made a pretty could case for himself tonight. Chamakh & Arshavin also made a good case for more involvement, though Arshavin was still putting the head down and taking nothing shots at times when he should have passed on occasion.

Overall the defence was pretty pooh, but the fight and urgency the team showed after half time is something that has really been lacking from the last few league games. Hope the main starters in the first team will take note of this performance. I'm not expecting a big turn around in the league against united but I don't want to see the dull don't look like they're bothered Arsenal from the last few league games ever again.

In a high line when the right ball is played like Henry before him with blistering pace there is only going to be one winner. And his finishing tonight for the first goal was sublime

I think at this stage he should be offered a contract. He's having a decent season despite not getting that many chances, and the longer its going the more negotiations are swinging in his favour.

Dont see Giroud (or anyone who played tonight) starting against United unless we're desperate. Podolski, Gervinho and Ramsey(?) as the front three I reckon.

But bossed the midfield for the other 60

Crazy match. Hopefully this re-ignites our season now. Just repeating what others have said tonight, but I was really impressed with Giroud, Walcott, Eisfeld and even Arshavin who put in a decent shift.

Big game now on Saturday, we cant afford to lose of course but I really feel that we will need a win. At least we know Man Utd will come at us, so hopefully we can catch them on the break. Playing Giroud up top should cause them problems in the air and at set pieces, especially with no Vidic there.

I would hope they'll start Giroud & Walcott. Gervinho has been very poor lately.

He seems a good lad too. Really impressed with him this year. Alot of lads would sulk but he is working his arse off to prove himself. His pace is a huge asset and his finishing is coming on leaps and bounds. the 2006 world cup was too much too soon for him and set him back years imo. Here is this kid who was frowned upon at the time by seasoned pros who didnt agree with his selection. Gerrard admitted as much in his book

Never thought i would say this but come on Wenger give him a new deal and dont consign him to a part time actor on that soap opera 'Being Liverpool' on C5 :)

    So great finishing tonight.

Giroud scored with a smashing header

I will cry if we see that front three on Saturday. Podolski, Giroud and Walcott must start against Man Utd. Really dont want to see Ramsey being played out of position again.

Is it like the film Babe with Arshavin i wonder? Does Wenger have to say 'Baaa Ramm Ewwwee' to get him into action? :D

I'm thinking more along the lines of Walcott playing 120 minutes tonight. Forgot Giroud didnt start so it could be him up top with Podolski and Gervinho either side.

Intelligence-wise there is a chasm between Giroud and Gervinho but they are entirely different players with different uses.
I would play Giroud and Walcott as twin strikers against Utd. Double threat.
