The best option out there is brodit... Dedicated for car and phone. I suggest to check their website for details.

how did you get them to approve it early did you go In store or do it over the phone

I was in carphonewarehouse because they had stock, when they tried process it it wouldnt go through as it was still in contract, chap there rang up meteor and had them release me from the old contract. simple. theyd prob do it over phone if you rang meteor yourself and ordered it.

I have always used them but unfortunately the options for my car block displays and the lower console mount isn't going to work either for me - too far away as the interior is quite wide. Also wont work with the case I use.

Is this a massive leap between phones,I lost my last phone (htc onex) and now looking to get a new phone, from what I can see the note 1 is same if not better than the onex and im very tempted to purchase. The only feature that I would like is the multi app feature and paying an extra 250 is a bit steep I think.

Also since alot of people might have upgraded from the note and want to get rid I dont mind if ya pm me ,kill two birds with one stone

So how is everyone getting on with their new toy now?!

I have had mine just over a week and still can't put it down!

There were a few slight changes I made to make it feel like my own.

For example, I hated the stock browser and chrome was still a bit glitchy for me, so I rooted the phone, replaced the stock browser with the stock browser from the galaxy nexus and installed flash on it. Its perfect!

I wasn't keen on the Samsung default keyboard so Installed an ice cream sandwich keyboard on it and it works perfect.

So theres little things like that. I'm enjoying the battery life on it. Okay its not as great as some others being reported here but I'm a heavy user so the 15-20 hours I'm getting I am satisfied with it.

Media i am enjoying, the radio works a treat as does my music and its great to have the micro sd card slot to store it. Its a pity its not possible to access the music hub in ireland, i heard its a great app. Also the notification light is better than the one on the galaxy nexus, its just a pity blue is the only colour for calls, texts, emails etc!

Overall though i am happy though I would say its the best device I've had yet and have no intention on replacing it anytime soon!

You might need to start playing with it a bit more then. Cant remember what i did, but ive white for calls, green for texts(sms, whatsapp, gtalk), blue for emails. I know i changed them the day i got it and before i rooted and messed with things, so they must be in the stock settings somewhere.

Also, just google the google music apk abd install it, and use a vpn to register and youll have access to the play music.

Install this to change the colour of the LED. There is a paid version as well.

Why would it need to disable airview?

    Without a shadow of doubt!

This thing is a beast and a combi!

    1. Phone - all the basic phone and messaging I havent had a problem with either. Keyboard size is brilliant (although not using stock keyboard) and I havent had any problem with regards to holding it up to ear.

    2. Mp3 player - has a music player and uses the 7digital app to buy and download music ot also has a radio which you can record from. Video player is good as well as is YouTube which thanksto the software update you can watch while watching/using another app at the same time Something you cannot do with any other phone android or iphone or any other.

    3. Tablet - the size of the screen on this is amazing and having used this for just over a week id have problems getting used to it again! The extra screen size is great for emails web browsing and watching videos, the sort of things you would use on a tablet

    Just my thoughts!

It's a great bit of gear. I have been using it the last few days extensively and the results are pretty decent.

I also think it shows subaru spoilers beautifully;p

    A jaysus!! I can't run away from you!!!! :D

I sow note 1 in local O2 and it was very damn wide!!! It felt more like a plate, then a phone. I heard they made note 2 more narrow?
Now I want to find out one thing, does it suffer general slowing down? I got for misses some Sony android, which looks quite great spec wise and its screen makes my 3GS look like ****, but after a year of use damn thing just get very slow and constantly freezes and says that stuff stops responding. At one stage it completelely froze during the night and misses almost got late to work due to alarm not going off. She does not fiddle with that thing at all. Just makes pictures, chels Facebook, YouTube, minor browsing.
This thing really makes me not to want android :( ( I really damn wanted to switch to android ASAP when I got misses that Experia, but now I am getting second thoughts ). Do new androids got improvement over that? Someone told me that this "slowing down" is a pure android problem due to coding and the way it process.
100% I don't want an iPhone again as its fecking same phone with higher price tag. I am waiting for windows 8 phones reviews too. I still got android on the books. Whatever happens I am getting new phone before Xmas and I already putting awayomey for it, ( I won't be getting contract , I want to buy it )

Ashamed to say I have it 3 days and have barely played with it.
Don't have a case yet and am paranoid about scratching it.
What cases are people using ? Anyone recommend a neoprene sleeve or similar ?

I purchased off them. Quick delivery about 3 or 4 days. Never got caught by customs. They label the device as something of low value about $14.

As for bricks'n'mortar none in CPW or Meteor/eMobile Newbridge.

Might be worth trying with carphone warehouse. I had 2 months left of my contract but got the upgrade with them.

    Why did you change back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,309 ✭✭✭✭wotzgoingon

    Why did you change back?

I lost some functionality of the S-pen. I don't know was it me who lost it as when I was installing I said remove all bloatware.

Just want to pipe up and say that after reading this thread I went for the Note 2 over the S3.

Fantastic decision, the best phone I've ever used - by far. The Pen is a huge plus, find it really useful for work etc.

Thanks for all the info in this thread, big help.
