A man was walking down a country road one day and saw a pig with a wooden leg running around in a front yard.

He couldn't believe his eyes....A PIG WITH A WOODEN LEG!

He just couldn't resist walking up to the farmhouse and asking the farmer about the pig.

"Why does your pig have a wooden leg?"

Well says the farmer...."One time, my house was on fire and my daughter was inside and couldn't get out, the pig went in and dragged her out."

"Did he lose a leg in the fire?" asked the man.

"No" said the farmer, "but another time my son was riding his new bicycle on the road and this truck was coming and was going to hit him but the pig ran out and pushed my son out of the way!"

"So, did he lose a leg in the accident?" asked the man.

    "No," said the farmer.

"Well, how did it happen then?" replied the man.

"Well", says the farmer, "would you eat a pig like that all at once?"

Completely irrelevant to the nature of this post but for the record, he's 5' 4" and he'll be around 5' 8" after it's done.

That sounds pretty unlikely. 4 inches of new bone is gonna grow?! How long does it take?

lulz... all that pain time and money to go from small to slightly less small. I imagine if he's that self concious about himself he'll never be able to wear shorts again because of the lovely scars he'll he left with.

But then, it's his time, pain and money I suppose.

According to teh internetz it takes approx 1 month to grow 1 inch... Eurgh... makes my stomach turn to think about twisting some screws to pull apart a broken bone everyday...

I've seen a programme where people who have dwarfism get this done. Its a huge decision to make. The people only gain a few inches of height and it take a very long time to recover from. I am o ly 5'1 so below average for a woman but could never imagine doing anything like this. If its for confidence reasons, you can shoes that have a false heel in them so it mskes you look taller without being obvious.

" break" or surgically saw in half ? It's an horrific concept & so many things can go so wrong. I can't believe anyone would do something thiis appalling to themselves. He could end up with one leg longer & one shorter, osteo-God-knowswhat, pain for life & arthritis in both legs for sure when he's older - if they dong have to be cut off CIA of infection/mRSA , bone marrow infections . I'm sick at thR thought of the stupidy of it. And will the ligaments/veins/arteries/muscle " just" stretch too. Vile. Get him to a therapist for self confidence quick - before he scars & ruins himself for life. Wheelchair sports anyone?

I don't think you mate has thought this out in an economic way.
Are benefits much greater than sacrifices in this case?

Whats he expecting the benefits of this to be? Are they worth painful surgery?

Is he doing this with the intention of getting some more shex or something. Thinking that all women automatically swoon at a guy when he hits 6 foot.
Or is it something else? Is it a daily problem for him to be his natural height?

We all have things we'd adjust if we could but that operation sounds like a big investment and a big risk....could find himself shorter if something goes wrong...or shorter plus confined to a chair.

(Although maybe if its a big issue (pls dont)in his life and takes up a lot of time it could be worth it)

(I myself have thought when it comes to something in my life that I would definitely 100% change it if there was an operation at expense up to 50% of my net worth...but I factored in the fact that it can really throw my work off and so economically it would make sense) (no not a penis op, no im not in porn)

I am reminded of descriptions of racking, one of the most painful and notorious forms of medieval torture. The recovery sounds awful too.

There are benefits to being taller such as being more attractive to women and getting paid more on average but I don't think it's worth the risks and pain.

It's got a much more gruelling recovery process, as near as I can tell, but is it actually more dangerous?

The biggest danger there is the bones not stiching back correctly. I went to school with a guy who had this done, he was 4'9 i think.
He had a problem where his left leg had healed ever so slightly off center and then had to be re sawed to remove excess bone fragments and then realigned to reset the leg bones. all in all it took him the bones of a year to get off crutches. i think he now stands a flush 5 foot. he also has scars which stop him wearing any shorts at all.

    Wow - just wow.

I doubt they will go for 4 inches of leg because the rest of his body will look ridiculously out of proportion if his legs are suddenly 4 inches longer than nature intended.

Imagine the joint problems down the line from putting yourself out of proportion like that - ouch!!!

Good for him, will probably instill more confidence and help give him a leg up in life

There's actually a gym in the U.K that has a workout that they say is guaranteed to make you taller...http://www.gymbox.com/The-Workout-Guaranteed-To-Make-You

They use one of those stretching racks in conjunction with the exercises.

    They call it agrowbics

Bananas to go through something like this electively (unless your height is causing you major psychological issues and even then I think it's a really bad idea). I would rather be short than have two f&cked legs.

The thing is, its likely going to affect how he walks and moves so there will still be a self confidence problem worrying if people notice him walking funny!

Cuban heels would have been a much easier solution.
