When Green bought the club, the plan was to do an IPO 3 years down the line. Now, he's trying to do it 4 months down the line! Its clear that people with good business acumen arent flocking as expected and those that have invested are tapped out. Charles Green is doing this IPO because he's smart enough to see that ye are heading straight for an iceberg called "cashflow crisis" and he's hoping that fans are blinded by their love for his bought assets.

Erm no, he pretty quickly made it clear that the IPO would be started up by the end of the year.

What's all this talk of Craig Whyte being back in town?

Gave an interview to BBC, full details will be up on the website later on and will be on Reporting Scotland tonight http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-19976991

The process of an IPO is still being done years ahead of schedule, why are you splitting hairs over the start of the process and when the offer is scheduled to be made as its irrelevant to the point

If you have a cashflow problem during year 2, then that could have a huge impact on your division hopping schedule. Clearly the initial plan was to get to Division 1 then have the IPO done and dusted for the transistion into the SPL.

Now Green has said that ye arent going to play in the SPL and he's putting the wheels in motion for the IPO as we speak. BTW, Craig Whyte still has the floating charge over Murray Park, I wonder if all this has something to do with that because it would be a bad business practice to do an IPO for the purpose of paying transfer fees and wages.

I'm not splitting hairs, you're the one claiming it should take years before an IPO is being formed and concluded, and that it's weird that Green is doing this now, insinuating it has to do with cashflow issues.

Green said straight away that a share system would be set up ASAP.

The IPO was started before Green mentioned not playing in the SPL though, I don't think it has anything to do with rushing a schedule.

As it is the schedule is simple: Win division after division, keeping the numbers of fans up (or growing) and ensure the financial future of the club is secure in the share issue.

By the way, we got a gift from Forres :D

I didnt say the bolded, try reading my posts properly and understand what I'm saying before jumping into defensive mode for the sake of it.

Joint administrator Paul Clark said: "Creditors have today given their approval for the Administrators to bring the administration process to an end and to place the company into liquidation. As a result, we as administrators have instructed our legal team to prepare the necessary application for lodging in the Court of Session as a matter of urgency.

"Should the application be approved, then Malcolm Cohen and James Bernard Stephen of BDO will be appointed liquidators of RFC 2012 plc, and will undertake the process of liquidation of the 'oldco' company and the continued recovery of funds for creditors. This will not affect the current operations of The Rangers Football Club in any way as it is a completely separate entity

just watched the craig whyte interview, despite him constantly arguing the semantics of not lying, not being misleading and just not being more open etc. Fairly easy to see when he was telling bare faced lies!

he confirmed what i long suspected of duff and phelps, the willingness of former board members to stick their heads in the sand!

the spl/sfa havent even written him an official letter yet? i suppose its not worth wasting a stamp on him but it still should have been done in writing. the cheek of him to laugh off his ban when he let his ego decide that not paying tax was a better plan than putting the club into administration after exiting european competitions!

part of me still thinks he's purposely taken the pr hit for someone else to smell like roses but the plan backfired when hmrc deferred the announcement in october. him not willing to discuss what hes gotten out means he still has a card to play i.e. floating charge on murray park.

The original Glasgow derby is back tomorrow when Rangers take on Queens Park. This is a very important game for Rangers and the players owe the fans and themselves a big performance. The Rangers players also need to toughen up a bit and stop being bullied which they have been to certain extent.

I think the starting 11 will be pretty close to this plus Little should be on the bench and will hopefully get a run out at some point

    Alexander
    Argyriou Perry Cribari Wallace
    Black Macleod
    McKay Shiels Aird
    Jig

As it should be, glasgow's two oldest clubs facing off for the first time in a long long time.
I'm sure the usual suspects will be along with their cynicism and snipes, but its a historical occasion.

I'd love to be at the game tomorrow.

I wonder how many Spiders fans will be there? Perhaps a thousand for their big day.

It's amazing to think Queens Park could have been one of football's major clubs if they hadn't been so hell-bent on retaining amateur status.

Glasgow's original derby deserves a good programme it seems:

Word on the street is the big tax case appeal has been lost.

You doubt the rangerstaxcase Twitter? I said earlier in the week that Craig Whyte was back in town and you laughed it off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,623 ✭✭✭lubo_moravcik

    Oh yeah, ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,895 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

Erm, Rangers message boards were saying the same thing about Whyte ;)
I didn't laugh anything off when you said Whyte would be back in town.

And yeah, I doubt the RTC's impartiality, I will refer to it as a Celtic-minded website ;)

Either way, winning or losing that case is of no consequence to us anymore.

I'm not doubting it though, there's a reason Whyte all of a sudden showed up now.
Same reason probably why Whyte apparently has correspondence between him and D&P, about the Ticketus deal. It would show that D&P were fully aware.

So even though Rangers websites were saying it you still laughed it off due to the source. Questioning RTC impartiality is fair enough and I don't blame you, but if you can see past that for a moment do you doubt his knowledge in these matters? Laugh that off all day long, I'd tend to have faith in what he says ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,895 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

I never laughed it off ffs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,623 ✭✭✭lubo_moravcik

I suppose as it's of no consequence to you anymore it's all ok, no need to talk about it now. Enjoy your Glasgow derby tomorrow, that's way more important

Rangers Tax-Case @rangerstaxcase @Ciaran_O What will it mean? 5 SPL titles, 4 Scottish Cups- and a renewed demand for the SFL to withdraw 6 league cups. ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,895 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

And you wonder why we think it's a Celtic-minded website.

The SFA have already said they will not pursue stripping of any Scottish Cup.
Same goes for the SFL and our League Cup wins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,623 ✭✭✭lubo_moravcik

Well it's of absolutely no consequence to you now, so we'll just draw a line under it and forget it ever happened eh. Am just wondering why bother with the appeal if it matters not a jot.

1-0 Jig doubt he will score an easier goal though the build up was well worked

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,895 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

But once again absolutely dire football.

Even now QP are ripping the defence a new one at times.

Agreed to many players in the first half seemed to be playing in no mans land a bit better since we went 4-4-2. Have to say I know jig scored but he really offers very little to the team

BBC Scotland has uncovered new evidence showing Rangers administrators Duff and Phelps knew Craig Whyte had sold season tickets to buy the club.

It indicates they were intent on denying it because they thought they could get away with it.

In May, the BBC suggested Duff and Phelps partner, David Grier, may have known about the £25m Ticketus deal last April, before Mr Whyte's takeover.

Mr Grier denied any knowledge of the deal until August 2011.

The BBC has obtained a recording of a meeting between Mr Whyte and Mr Grier, which show Duff and Phelps did know.

Mr Whyte bought Rangers from Sir David Murray for £1 and paid an £18m debt to Lloyds Bank by selling three years of season tickets to finance firm Ticketus for £25m.

As well as being involved in Mr Whyte's takeover, Duff and Phelps were appointed as Rangers' administrators after the club plunged into insolvency in February 2012.

In May, a BBC Scotland investigation suggested that Mr Grier may have known that about the controversial Ticketus deal before the Whyte takeover was complete.

Mr Grier, and Duff and Phelps, denied the claims and said he was unaware of this particular Ticketus deal until August 2011.

Last week, in a BBC interview, Mr Whyte said that "everybody who was involved in the deal team at the time knew about" the Ticketus deal.

He added: "They (Duff and Phelps) knew everything, they attended meetings, they were copied into all the emails, they were there on the day of completion. They knew from the start."

That claim prompted Rangers' joint administrator Paul Clark, of Duff and Phelps, to respond: "The allegations against the administrators, who are officers of the court, are false, malicious and without foundation.

"In addition, as administrators, we instigated legal proceedings against Mr Whyte's solicitors (Collyer Bristow) in the High Court in London and those proceedings are centred round the very serious allegation that Mr Whyte was involved in a conspiracy which deprived Rangers of many millions of pounds.

"Our conduct of the Rangers administration has been the subject of intense public scrutiny and we are wholly satisfied it was carried out to the highest professional standards."

BBC Scotland has now received a secret recording that Mr Whyte says he made at a meeting between him and Mr Grier in a private members' club in London on 31 May, after its investigation was broadcast.

Craig Whyte met David Grier at a private members club in London

The recording, which is to be used in a forthcoming court case involving Duff and Phelps and Mr Whyte's former lawyers Collyer Bristow, has been obtained legitimately by BBC Scotland.

During the exchange, Mr Grier said: "I'll tell you what we're doing with that just so you…

    Mr Whyte: "Yeah.

Mr Grier: "We, we went to see counsel yesterday and had a full sort of debrief of all the email correspondence.

    Mr Whyte: "Yep.

Mr Grier: "Now, the fact is that we probably did know what was going on with Ticketus. There's no email traffic whatsoever.

Mr Whyte: "That says that you did?"

Mr Grier: "That says that we did.

Mr White: "But we all know that you did and f****** hell.

Mr Grier: "Yeah, yeah. There's no…we were not involved in dealing with Ticketus directly.

Mr Whyte: "Yeah. So you knew the structures of the deal. You were dealing with Lloyds.

    Mr Grier: "Absolutely.

Mr Whyte: "And the Ticketus part was Saffreys.

Mr Grier "Yeah. So we've maintained that line quite rigorously."

BBC Scotland has been able to confirm with a voice recognition expert that the recording is of Mr Grier.

Duff and Phelps have yet to respond to the publication of the 31 May conversation.
