That tackle on Black was absolutely horrendous. How the hell was that not a red card? As clear a red card as you'll ever see.

I think it's called an "honest mistake".

Looks like two clear cut red cards to me.

The tackle on Black couldn't be a clearer red card, the "tackle" on the keeper isn't as clear cut but still a red. The attacking player could be deemed to be going for the ball and then slips and slides into keeper... but if that happened its still a red for dangerous play.

Come on Bears, roll up roll up and get your new shiny shares

RANGERS, the Scottish football club, today announces its intention to seek Admission to the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.

Rangers intends to raise up to £20million through an institutional investor placing and limited public offering. The funds raised will be used for strengthening the player squad, improving and developing the Club’s properties and facilities, as well as providing additional working capital. It is anticipated that Admission will become effective before the end of the year.

Since its formation in 1872, The Rangers Football Club has become one of the world’s most successful clubs, having won 54 League titles, 33 Scottish Cups, 27 League Cups and the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1972. The Club’s loyal and sizeable supporter base, both in Scotland and around the world, enables the Club to boast one of the highest percentages of season ticket holders in the UK, with over 36,000 having been sold for the current season.

Playing at the 51,000 seater Ibrox Stadium, which is Scotland’s only UEFA elite club stadium, and benefitting from the world class 38 acre Murray Park training facility, the Club has been a major force in Scottish football for decades.

Fans and others interested in investing in the Club should register with Capita Registrars only. Details below.

Commenting on the announcement Charles Green, Chief Executive of Rangers, said: “From the time we acquired the business and assets of Rangers FC, we indicated our intention to list the Company and provide our fans with the opportunity to invest in their Club. I am delighted that our plans are coming to fruition.

“Rangers is debt-free and a huge club with enormous support and a 140 year track record of success on the domestic and international arenas. Our aim is to return the Club to its glory days whilst ensuring it is run efficiently and profitably.”

Malcolm Murray, Chairman, added: “Charles has done a great job to bring the Club back from the brink of extinction. We now move on to the next stage which is full recovery and growth. The fans loyalty has been instrumental in getting the Club on its feet and the IPO gives them the chance to have a say on club matters.”

Fans and others interested in investing in the Club......
we indicated our intention to list the Company
I thought it was the same club run by a new company:confused:
So, if you invest ,do you own a portion of a football club or a portion of Green's company which now runs the club.

Not sure if it's confusion or deliberate muddying.

Hampden is indeed on that list - but technically it's not a "Club Stadium". ;)

Queens Park play there, i.e. the team on top of Division 3. :p

The 'elite' stadium ranking system was defunct in 2006. There critiria and ranking system for stadiums has changed significantly.

Isnt the "Elite Stadium" the current rankings, which replaced the 4/5 Star rankings a few years ago?

And yeah, Queens Park play there - but it is the national Stadium, owned by the National FA -it's a technicality indeed, but it's not a club stadium. :p

    Info on???? Price?

various things I want to know where the money will be going price is of course important but I like many bears though coming round to Green feel there is still a way to go before my trust is given freely so to speak. And I think that is widely known after Murray and Whyte it is no surprise

The price is know for the IPO but it also depends what happens when it comes to fruition shares rise and fall as you know so it may be worthwaiting and seeing what happens then go through my broker

At 500 quid, not much hope of me getting in at the ground floor.
    I don't have a "broker"!

You could all buy them for eachother as Christmas presents :P
Naw really, he's looking to raise £20 million, if this share issue doesn't take off and he doesn't get that money in, what do you see happening then?

anyway, on a lighter note then
What's this I hear about today being Liquidation Day, something to do with BDO???
Will this guy be leading the Union Bears?

Seeing past the joking an all, do you think there's any truth in this re ticketus and whyte et al?

Seems Charles Green is already biting the hand that fed him

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19924802

He's talking up Rangers chances of being plucked out of the lower tiers of Scottish Football for a European League for the sake of making the share issue seem more attractive to investors. I'm sure the SFL are delighted with his attitude.

If you would have read the article you would have noticed that he is talking about a period of within 10 years, not right now.

In that time frame Rangers will most likely be back in the top flight and playing in Europe on a regular basis.

The standout part of the article for me was him calling Aston Villa "completely useless". So Mr Green, how did your team that you want in a European league do last weekend against mighty Stirling Albion?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

No clue why he's calling out Villa, but truth be told: They are pretty useless :pac:

He said that if Arsenal play the likes of Swansea for the next ten years, it will become stale. He actually didnt mention any time frame for the implementation of a European League. If it takes 3 years for UEFA to change the yellow card rule, god knows how long it will take to agree on any radical format change!

I though Charles Green promised that Rangers will never play in the SPL again? He'll hardly keep that promise. The SFL getting control of the SPL is wishful thinking tbh, there will be a stalemate over voting rights. The clubs are already beginning to dig their trenches for it.

I dunno, if sterling albion (who?) keep up their momentum this might not be so farfetched

What's all this talk of Craig Whyte being back in town?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

Only heard it from one source, and that's hardly the most unbiased one.

Are you sure that wasn't just a Celtic fan giving his Craig Whyte Halloween costume a trial run around town? It would be sure to send the shivers down an awful lot of people anyway :D

Suppose we'll just have to wait and see. If no one else is gonna buy shares (BBE being the exceptionin here) then maybe its best if Mr Whyte buys them and saves the club or company or wherever the money is going.
