Shocking stuff, McCoist simply has to go.

And I don't think Green will have any mercy, could very well be Ally's last game in charge (and one too many).

Stirling's manager isn't even present ffs, he's off getting married.

    At least you're still unbeaten

Erm, I don't know what world you live in but losing 1-0 isn't 'unbeaten' ;)

'Rangers' don't do walking away... or Stirling Albion away, or Peterhead away, or Annan Athletic away, or Berwick Rangers away.

The summer signings are really beginning to look ridiculous, it was never necessary for McCoist to sign players of far better quality than the opposition.

Many people said at the time that the sensible option was to sign a few of the better lower division players and bring along some of the youth players for an absolute tiny fraction of what he is currently spending on wages, he really didn't need to buy the title. He will probably still win it but one thing is for sure, when The Rangers do get to the SPL they could have had a few extra million in the bank if they had employed a sensible wage budget for the next few years.

Paul Hartley showed last season how easy it is to win the division comfortably, he started the summer break with 1 player, built it back up through sensible signings and loans, and had the title wrapped up weeks before the end of the season. You have to wonder if McCoist did any real homework on the opposition and standard of football before the season began...

To a certain extent I agree but you have to take into account 18 months we can't sign players

    I agree, to a point.

We need battlers in there - in games like today, attempting to pass our way around the opposition quite simply isn't going to work. We need a couple of battering rams - our "harder" players are getting some shocking treatment, they're not used to the level of brutality that they have recieved this season.
The assault on Alexander today, followed by a ridiculous tackle on Black are perfect examples of that.

I disagree however in the fact that both Green and McCoist have made it perfectly clear that they want a team that can get to the latter stages of the cup competitions, and our performance against Motherwell showed that we can do that.

The "Big" signings - Black & Shiels have performed well, Black especially. Templeton was brutalised in his second or third game, but was doing the job prior to injury.
Sandaza also has been unlucky with injury.

The only one i would say the jury is out on, performance wise, is Cribari.

We have, overall, a very young squad.
I still think we'll comfortably win the division.

I dont want to be the person who comes on here every time you lose but it seems like the heart isnt there when your playing away from home in the league and sally should be trying to eradicate the defeatist attitude if you are to progress through the tables as you are expected by the majority of people to. do.. to a degree Celtic started the season off with an indifferent attitude too but i think Neil Lennon has gotten the players out of that.

Disgusting, and apparently only worth a yellow card.

A bit light punishment but considering it is Black on the receiving end instead the normal giving end...

    What the Black one?
Doesn't a 50/50 need the ball to be in the vicinity of the player who's head you've just kicked!?

I don't expect any sympathy for Black, but the pic above is symptomatic of the treatment Rangers players are recieving down here.
As I said in an earlier post, we need to harden up because its more brutal than most people expected.

Out of interest are you saying teams are going in harder on Rangers than on other teams in the division or is it a case that poor quality players are making poor quality tackles as is it to be expected?

    A bit of both.
Obviously we expected it to be a lot harder in Division 3, that's the natural way of things. However i think the hype surrounding games when Rangers roll into town is having a massive effect on how players are playing against Rangers.

Unfortunately we don't get the detailed stats to back this up, but the foul count for Stirling in the first half alone this weekend must have been in the high 30's.

Charlie Boy is standing by Ally :D
CHARLES GREEN last night gave under-fire Rangers boss Ally McCoist his ‘100 per cent’ support.
Ibrox chief executive Green came out fighting for McCoist in the aftermath of Saturday’s shocking 1-0 defeat at Stirling Albion.
That saw furious fans begin to question legend McCoist’s managerial credentials after a tumultuous 18 months in charge, albeit through administration and liquidation.
Chief Green told SunSport the defeat was UNACCEPTABLE.
But he also emphatically refuted any suggestion that McCoist’s job was on the line, as rumours to the contrary spread like wildfire yesterday.
Green said: “There is NO chance of Ally being sacked. Yes, Saturday’s defeat was an embarrassment. But no one more than Ally knows what happened at Stirling was unacceptable.
“We’ve got to get a lot of things sorted at the club and we’ve never said it was going to be easy.
“We are certainly not going to solve anything by dismissing the manager.
“Remember, the manager wasn’t on the field on Saturday, was he?
“Ally will be the first to accept that he picked the team. That it is his responsibility.
“But no matter the players picked, Rangers should still be able to put out a team to beat ANYONE at this level.”
That wasn’t the case at Forthbank as Brian Allison became a Stirling hero with the only goal.
That left Rangers — who just last month had knocked the then SPL leaders Motherwell out of the League Cup — a miserable third in the Third Division table.
And that stat, coupled with the side’s failure to win an away league game all season, has left fans wondering if a change at the top is needed.
However, Green said: “Listen, all credit to Stirling, their players played fantastic. But everyone at Rangers is hurting at what happened.
“I find it incomprehensible that the same players can win so well against top of the SPL Motherwell and then play like we did at Stirling.
“We’re all frustrated, none more so than Ally — someone who knows exactly the privilege and pleasure it is to pull on a Rangers jersey and do it justice.
“Ally has absolutely my 100 per cent backing.
“I’m currently down south on business and I spoke to him after the game and we’ve arranged to meet in London on Thursday.
“We’ve got a fortnight now until our next game and that gives us all time to take stock, reflect and plan ahead.”
Green — who tomorrow will announce details of a fans share issue — added: “We’ve still got a few battles off the field.
“But no one should doubt our resolve.
“We need stability and unity — and that includes getting behind Ally.
“The fans have been amazing and they certainly didn’t deserve what happened at Stirling.”
