So a pretty, young girl from Canada took her own life after suffering horrendous amounts off abuse. Basically she used her webcam with strangers online and flashed them her bewbs.. Some perv decided to a screen capture and try to blackmail her into doing a show for him.. She evidently refused and he sent the screen capture to all her family and friends etc.. This causes a huge ****storm and she gets ridiculed and loses friends etc and she tries to kill herself on more than one occasion.. Eventually she succeeds but not before crying for help on youtube..

I think there should be an awareness campaign for naive people that don't realise that if they flash anyone on a webcam it can be saved by whomever it is they are flashing.. This poor girl is gone but perhaps her actions can be used to help the future generations to know what they get themselves in for when they flash people online.

On another note it is sick that some scumbag ruined a childs life and eventually caused her to kill herself because he wanted his sick kicks.. And I hope they can trace the scumbag and arrest him on a minimum of manslughter and any other related charges..

    Anyway here is the links:

I really fear for young folk these days who live in a time where doing something daft can be captured easily by a recording device on a PC/phone.

I was a pretty stupid fucker when I was younger and I feel lucky that the stupid shit I done isn't recorded and made public so that it can follow me forever more.

It was much easier to leave stuff in the past not so long ago.

    Poor girl.

    RIP.

Tragic case that could have been and should have been prevented. The dangers of the internet really have to be taught to young people. Particularly in this age where the computer has become god and kids learn how to operate modern apparatus before they walk.

    totaly agreed OP.
she may have been camwhoring but he blackmailed and threatened a teen to the point she coudnt cope and developed severe mental illnesses and finaly sucesesfuly atempted suicide.
disgusting,he shoud be caught, jailed then never allowed near the internet again.

just read a comment on there which have often seen said about people who have killed themselves through bullying-
Ok, there's more to this story than simply that she was bullied and it caused her to kill herself.

She developed a host of other issues, per the report, that were more about her inability to cope with stigma, than for actually being harassed. There IS a point where it's no longer about the trigger event and the responsibility is with the person and their family.

Yes, bullying is real, it should be addressed. But it is not the catalyst for every teenager's clinical depression. Media is making it seem like this is some sort of new "uber mean" society....

Kids were flashing cameras back when I was in high school. People had reputations, compromising pictures circulated, people were talked about very ungraciously. But it didn't cause everyone to develop mental illness. This girl got away from her bullying situation, was surrounded with new people who cared about her and did their best to make her feel welcome - and she STILL had mental illness, caused harm to herself. It could have been ANY kind of embarassing situation that triggered it.
    ]
its very wrong that anyone can take responsibility and consequence away from the bully
just because we all have different tolerance levels to situations who is to say one persons tolerance is the standard and anyone whose tolerance to bullying is lower than that clearly
    are mentaly at fault.
sorry but that is BS, any bully who targets a person for long enough to trigger them into mental illness needs bringing to justice.

    Very,very sad.

Hope they can track down the scumbag who tried to blackmail the poor kid.

    R.I.P.

That video of her is , well the saddest video I have ever watched. The girl moved city to get away from the pricks and they still wouldn't let it be, now that beautiful girl is after killing herself.

Jesus, fuck me is all I can say.

I now honestly believe there is no hell or heaven, we are actually living in hell on this planet.

I would say the knowledge that members of her family and her friends having seen her in a compromised position would have had a detrimental effect on her mental state..

@ Scruffles copy pasta on the 'camwhoring' and would like to address it.
She developed a host of other issues, per the report, that were more about her inability to cope with stigma, than for actually being harassed. There IS a point where it's no longer about the trigger event and the responsibility is with the person and their family.

Obvious victim blaming is obvious. Her tormentor was deliberately making her life hell and not letting her move on. There is a difference between a trigger point and someone following you with a gun and shooting you in the back in spite of your attempts to escape.
Kids were flashing cameras back when I was in high school ... compromising pictures circulated

A kid's school of photography? Lies.
    People had reputations,

That they could deny or leave behind or get away from geographically by moving location. Not these days if indiscretions are recorded.
This girl got away from her bullying situation,

No she ****ing didn't - her tormentor made sure of it.
was surrounded with new people who cared about her and did their best tomake her feel welcome - and she STILL had mental illness, caused harm to herself . took advantage of her vulnerable situation when they discovered it and contributed to her trauma

    Victim blaming bullshit.

They can do him for child porn easy enough. Whatever about trying to prove the other stuff such as harassment, that should be cut and dried

Maybe I'm wrong but it's not only the bullies fault but I think their parents also have a responsibility for rearing ignorant, selfish, nasty little pricks.
I hate bullies with a passion & from what I have witnessed of most of them is that they didn't pick it up off the street. They either saw or heard things at home that made them that way or they just didn't get enough of an explanation on the rights & wrongs of life.
I'm not trying to deflect responsibility away from them or make excuses for what they did.

If this was a 7th grader boy who was **** on camera for some girl, the media would paint a very different picture in a "sick pervert takes life" story. But hey, it's a girl creating child porn of herself so she must be a victim.

It was a girl flashing her boob, hardly hard core Ron Jeremy stuff.
I'm all for equality of sexes but comments like the one you made are just so, so stupid I don't even know where to begin.
Cop on to yourself & save that argument for another thread.

A child cannot consensually create porn of her/himself (such reprehensible terminology) by the very nature of being a child.

Do me a favour. Imagine this happened to your sister/niece/daughter..

    how does it feel now?

Shame on the guy who forwarded the pictures.
Shame on her for flashing and instantly putting him in possession of childporn.
Shame on anyone who says the guy deserves manslaughter.. I read it that he forwarded the pictures and it was everyone in her life that bullied her.
Shame on everyone in her life who thought a nudie pic was enough reason to bully someone.
Shame on the Huffington Post for posting about 20 pictures of her.
    Shame on me? No.

No, its not. Its a thread about an innocent 12 year old girl who was vunerable and taken advantage of by a predator and made a mistake, and the suffering she endured afterwards

Were you ever naive and made a silly mistake?

Edit: Not to mention, the girl had learning difficulties

Your comment is stupid because you portray what she did as child porn, it wasn't.
What has it got to do with anything whether the victim was male or female?
A teenager still killed themselves over online bullying, gender shouldn't be an issue. So save the male vs female debate for another thread.
And you didn't even discuss the consequences of getting naked online, you pointed out she was female & if it was a male victim then people would view it differently.

Hormone induced sexual experimenting is at most an innocent / naive mistake on the girls part. There is nothing inheritantly wrong with a 15 year old bearing herself to someone her own age in private.. But this naive little girl didn't realise her seconds of excitement could be recorded and used in the way it was.. Some lowlife tried to force her to give him his jollies and when he was refused purposely tried to cause her emotional turmoil.. Due to this she had to move town and was already making public the effect it was having on her.. And yet he continued his smear campaign which directly caused her to want to kill herself.. This is definitely worthy of a manslaughter charge in my eyes..

Fuck Manslaughter, I'd be looking for Murder & Pedophilia on this, and the bastards kids who were making fun of her as accessory to Murder.
This guy was calculating and researched. He knew exactly what he was doing, and in fact he went out of his way to track her down again and again and do his level best to make her live as miserable as possible cos he couldn't get enough of his jollies. Manslaughter would be too good for the scum.

I really really hope there's some serious action taken about this. Its happening far too many times these days.

How is my comment so so so stupid? This isn't a condolences thread. It's a thread about getting naked online and the consequences.

A kid flashed, maybe for a split second. She didn't know the perv was taping her. He then used it to try to blackmail her into performing more explicit stuff online. When she wouldn't, he forwarded it on to her family and friends.

I'm assuming the fella was a little bit older or at least more savvy than the girl. Why? Because he had a program running recording his webcam chats.

Put it into other analogous terms the you might relate to. a fella persuades a younger girl to come visit him in his house. While there, he kisses her on the couch. nothing more. but he's persistent. Eventually he manages to persuade her to lift her top up to show him her boobs. Then she leaves. Later on she find out the fella had a hidden camera and threatens to send pictures to her friends or family unless she lets him tape her doing more explicit stuff. She refuses and he sends out the pictures. Your attitude is that she is guilty of child porn and is to blame for some scumbag taping her.

Whatever about taping her, vindictively actually sending it to her family and friends with no purpose other than humiliate her is fucking sickening. She's only a kid.

Do you have any sisters? Would you be happy if one of their ex's sent some naked photos of her to your entire family? even though she may be an adult, I don't think it'd go down too well. Now imagine she's a young kid trying to go through that.

    Sad sad story.

On another point, its times like this that i realise how absolutely idiotic human beings can be when responding to something like this via the internet. The clown on the first page of this thread trying his best to either wind people up or to get a dose of thanks on his post to make himself feel like he is the **** is a good example. The comments on youtube however are even more extreme, if there is a c*nt inside you the internet will definitely help bring it out for everyone to see.

Manslaughter? If some sick pervert did this to my daughter I would pay someone to track his IP address then I would very take pleasure in slowly torturing him until he begs for his life. His plees would be in vain. I would call it murder pure and simple.

What a crock of sh!t. It's like saying that a drunk driver knocked someone down and they ended up in a coma. While in the coma they developed pnuemonia and died, therefore it's not the drunk driver's fault as the person could've developed pneumonia at any time

That person sounds like an arrogant gobsh!te who is too thick to understand that times are very different now than "back in his/her day".
