I love this version of arsenal so far

Haven't seen the highlights of the game yet and only heard the result after the game. Absolutely delighted though. A win away to West Ham, especially with Allardyce in charge is a fantastic result. Giroud scoring will hopefully give him plenty of confidence and I've always wanted Walcott to stay and Wenger's been more than fair with him, so I hope he signs soon!

We finished with 3 CB's yesterday
Do people think its something we could/should use from the start in some games

No, would leave us very bare elsewhere. I'd still like to see us play with a proper DM but it ain't gonna happen.

3 at the back using Santos and Jenkinson as wing backs wouldn't be a bad plan B actually. Arteta is probably disciplined enough to sit in front of the back 3 if we ever used that.

    Who do we leave out?

    Rambo/diaby I'd say

I see barca started a LB/LW in centre of defence instead of Song
Think that says it all about the trust they have in our dear old friend

That's a nice even spread of top goal scorers. Won't take long for Giroud and Santi to catch up either I reckon :)

How are we feeling about Walcott? Fair play to him imo, being a very good professional so far.

I would hate to see him go for free myself.

I agree he's a great complement to the squad and would be difficult to replace - need to keep hold of him. With Gervinho off with the ACN that becomes even more important.

Good attitude too - he surely hasn't had as much game time as he would like, but whenever he is on the pitch, he gives it everything.

Hope he stays but still don't think he is good enough through the middle
Hope he realises the way arsenal play he is allowed roam and end up in the middle and he plays in a front 3 not really a right winger

Think Walcott could be extremely good with Gervinho CF as they'd swap positions a lot. Don't think hes ready to start up top yet though, very very good option off the bench.

If he signs a new contract well then he can look to challenge for that RW spot.

Until he signs though he shouldn't start in anything but the League Cup imo, why bother giving him game time if he'll most likely be playing for a rival next year.

He may well sign, but even if he doesn't he should play if Wenger sees him as a good option. He's still an Arsenal player on 75k a week or whatever. We really can't afford to not pick players because they are in contract negotiations and may not re-sign.

If we're struck by injuries then yes play him.

But as long as Gervinho and Chamberlain are fit Walcott shouldn't be starting any games.

Problem is that then it's a bit of a chicken and egg situation. If he doesn't get to start games he's less likely to sign the contract.

Theo should look to the likes of Podolski for how he should be aiming to play from the flanks but still get goals.

I hope he signs, he's a frustrating player at times but his goals/assist record speaks for itself imo. I think he works much better as an impact sub though, great option to have off the bench when the opponents are getting tired.

I feel this way too. He doesn't quite get that it's a team game. Look at Man U and Ole Gunnar Solksjaer. He knew his value and played accordingly as a devestating impact sub.

Yeah, I was actually thinking of Solksjaer there, the trouble is I can't see Theo being happy in that role. He sees himself as Henry pretty much.

Jack and Sanga both playing tonight :)

I can't see Walcott starting if everyone is fit and your picking your best team but I do hope he stays

He should start ahead of Ox.

Ox i splaying badly. There's no point in rushing him.

If there was ever evidence of Walcott's real threat its from 1.50 on in the below video. If he can beat the last man he is almost a certainty to score. Granted he is slightly wide but if you can spray a good ball over in front of him he'll hammer any defender. Thats the one real strength he brings to AFC.

feel the same way - somewhat. He was disappointing against chelsea but apart from that he's going about his business well. Superb finish on Saturday.
At the same time I don't think he's a central striker and is best employed in his current role.

Eisfield and wilshere and frimpong in the same midfield tonight a look to the future maybe
    Looks tasty

You can understand where he's coming from in fairness, what 23 year old with the amount of hype like Walcott has on him would like to sit on the bench for 70 minutes of each match?

Think he should go. Never thought much of him anyway but under the right system he could flourish.
