Two of us want membership, we live near finglas so there is the gym with the pool there and for 2 people it's 240 euro each for the year. Quite reasonable, now I haven't been there to see what it is like or anything, and I must check do they have a location in town.

Just would like your thoughts on what ones there are in town and how you rate them along with the cost? Pool is essential, thanks!

So I see that there is a council one in town, Markievicz gym. Is it ok? Anybody here a member?

The pool is quite good in the Markievicz - I've never actually used it though, only the gym. I've heard it can be quite busy in the mornings before 9ish, and it's been fairly jammed when I was in there on a Saturday afternoon. Gym is good, but the weights room is quite small/narrow, so if you want to go at the busy times you'll probably be waiting to use stuff.

You can pay as you go with it as well - so if you just want to check it out I think it's 8 quid or so for gym and pool access, and around the 6 quid mark for just pool or just gym.

Off the top of my head, Sportsco in Ringsend has a pool - nice big one too, lots and lots of cardio machines, and a smaller weights area. I used to be a member and never had to wait for a cardio machine, but there's only one power rack, and a smith machine, so you can be waiting on these.

I think Crunch fitness off Aston Quay has a pool too - although a mate of mine checked it out and thought it was a bit small.
