Don't worry about that, I'm a drummer but I don't really have perfect fingers for playing guitar, but does anyone really? I remember seeing one of the really tall guys from The Eagles in a magazine and he seemed to have insanely long bony fingers and I was kinda jealous :pac:

Everyone has different hands, don't let it discourage you. Piano is a much kinder instrument on the fingers anyway.

Piano is grand for all hand shapes :P I have really long and bony fingers and its grand for me, most piano players ive seen have short and chubby fingers :pac:

Na i have long fingers on my left but see i only have 3 fingers on my right and i cant move them as freely . so basically i can only use one finger to play with my right hand :(

I'm a bit lost here, so are you physically missing a limb on your right hand then (1 thumb, 3 fingers) ?

yep you got it but there bent and i cant move them. So i can only use one finger at a time per say when pressing keys. (from what ive always been told is that i didnt have a thumb but they did something and gave me one)

Part of my arggh just realising now i regret not caring for myself. comes back to haunt me now. Moral of the story. always fight your way in life and push yourself if your in an accident to try and recover. Saying that it will never affect you in life, eh ya it comes back to bite. :(

One of my favourite guitarists only had the use of 2 fingers and his thumb. Where there's a will, and all that jazz :)

I'm listening to Death Cab For Cutie, I listened to them constantly during the LC exams while I studied so every time I listen to them I feel like I'm sitting them again. It's that weird, stressful feeling but it's only vestigial so it's almost weirder. I can't tell if it's nice because I'm NOT actually doing them, or bad because I can't listen to songs I like without reliving such an awful week.

Happens everytime I hear Westlife songs, particularly Swear It All Over Again. I thought it would be funny if I could get the song stuck in someone's head right before an exam.

I'm about to cry. Up at half ****ing six so I could get a train back to Galway because of the all ireland. Arrive in my door at twelve, absolutely exhausted. My flatmates left ALL THE ****ING WASHING UP from Friday for me to do. There's even a bloody note! I'm exhausted, I'm emotional over Doctor Who and I am in no mood to clean up.

And now Galway has lost so I've no excuse to go out tonight and get blotto. ARGH

You should put all of her dishes in her bedroom and leave a note saying 'I'm exhausted, I'm emotional and I'm in no mood to look at this'

"why bother developing feelings for someone when you can just walk out in traffic and achieve the same result" a ha ha ha its funny and true :pac: :(

I never ever like anyone, I hate when it happens, uuuuggggghhh it takes over your entire life I didn't ask for this why can't I go back to my usual vegetative state of seeing the entire planet in a purely platonic way.

Okay I've made far too many posts in this thread over the last few days. I'll go try be more positive from now on.

As much as I have an irrational dislike of debating, I decided I should probably be a good law student and sign up for Maidens on the promise that there'd be this whole workshop thingy beforehand. Now it turns out my round is an hour before the workshop begins so I now have a day to write a debate, which I have never done in my life ever, on the most boring fcuking proposition imaginable. This will be a flop.

At least you have the day to write it :) Last year I signed up for the maidens mace with the l&h . I hadn't done any proper debating before so I was pretty shocked when I found out we had only a few mins to prepare a 5 minute speech on a random subject !

What is the proposition btw ?

If you're still in a quandary moments before the debate just follow Jez's advice.
Jez: Maybe you should run away.

    Mark: Right, thanks Jez.

Jez: Well, I mean, people say it like it's a bad thing, you know, running away from your problems. But if your problems never catch up with you, what's the hitch?

Mark: Right, well, in this case there would be repercussions.

Jez: What do you care? You'd be in the woods, playing the ukulele with the rabbits and the squirrels!

Mark: I suppose I could... run away.

Jez: Do it man!! (I think that was good advice... I mean, I didn't actually expect him to do it... Maybe I wouldn't have said it if I thought there was any chance of him actually doing it... But... yep, there he goes.)

Mark: (God, I'm running away! This is brilliant! Maybe I'll go to KFC and have a whole bargain bucket! Or join Al Qaeda!

What model is it, and what are you getting when you plug it into your computer?

wait what? external hard drives don't work with a specific OS, and they don't just sporadically lose data. Did you rub a strong magnet or drop it?

It's an Iomega ScreenPlay HD 500GB.

When I plug it into the laptop, nothing happens.

When I plug it into the TV via HDMI, it works, but there're no files.

When I tried using the installation CD to install drivers on my laptop for it, I got a message saying "This software is not compatible with this OS."

Definitely not magnetised, and don't think I've ever dropped it. Can't remember the last time I've used it though (could be >2 years).

Does it appear in Diskpart? If you could open up Command Prompt as admin, then type in 'diskpart' and press enter. When you get the 'DISKPART>' prompt, enter in 'list disk'. See if you can make out your external hard drive. If you're not sure put up a screen shot.

6 of the top 10 stories in my fb newsfeed is that "facebook is now a publicly traded entity..." crap

You accepted the Facebook T&C's when you joined. You submitted content to the website. Posting a flimsy message quoting some irrelevant American Commercial law which will ultimately become buried miles down your timeline is retarded and will achieve nothing. Even if the "United States Federal Government" did have access to your photos/status legally, you are still meaningless to them unless you use facebook to plan terrorist attacks. Try use a few brain cells every now and then, and think before you spread this crap/fill up my timeline.

    /rant off
