I just dont see why you drop Mert when he's playing so well unless he's injured.

Lot of poor performances today and those that weren't particularly bad were let down by the rest of the team. Cazorla needs to start shooting on sight inside the box instead of outside. Gervinho was so wasteful and I hoped he might be less so through the middle but it's not going like that.

Just a poor team performance today

Same old arsenal, once their favourites they bottle it,like Birmingham like every year we are in with a chance of the title in January.frustrating.

At this rate I don't see us being near the title hunt come January. We've two points less than from the 6 corresponding fixtures last season. Next match is against West Ham and if we can't beat them I'll be very worried, it would continue the pattern started against the two puke teams we played in the first two matches.

A bit OTT in your analysis my friend.I thought we were sloppy all over the pitch but its still early days. We still look alot more solid than last year but it show we still have lots of work to do with our defending of set pieces.2 bad goals today conceded

Hope the injury to Diaby doesn't keep him out for too long, he could be a very important player for us if he could only stay fit!

Not really,2 wins from 6 is mid table form, sur not good enough.

Aye, I'm hoping we'll clean up against the likes of West Ham though. Need to go on a run now after today.

I think the Gervinho as a striker experiment is officially a failure, don't want to see him through the centre again He'll pick up a few goals here and there but he's not a striker.

Would hope so but the only wins this season have been against poor teams who try to play. West Ham under The Big Sam are likely to set up for a 0-0 like Stoke and Sunderland successfully did.

As poor as I thought we were today
We were done by two sloppy set piece goals again
And missed a couple of easy chances
All in all were not far off

We cant be depending on him, he's not up to it by the looks of things. Midfield 3 of Jack, Cazorla and Arteta should be where we're looking going forward.

And Rosicky has to make the bench whenever fit, he's much more versatile. We completely lost our shape for a while after Diaby went off and never really got it back. Cazorla went missing for a while to the extent that I wondered if he'd swapped with Ramsey.

Anyone listening to graham sounness,he serious hates arsenal, saying we are same ap always, players are afraid, nothing about only conceding 2 goals up until today,he irritates the life out of my brain.

Really ? I still think there's lots to be optimistic about. Conceded 2 poor goals today it's true, but Mannone had very little to do. The options we have in midfield are great and i still think Giroud will come good. he did well when he came on today and was unlucky not to score.

Why is graham and co saying Chelsea were brilliant,I can't remember Mannone been tested?cech on the other hand.

    Can't stand Souness.
The Chelsea defence was very steady while ours looked shaky throughout.
They easily cancelled our midfield and Torres looked like his old self.

But giroud scores and its 2 all,and they show the other 2 great saves from cech, seriously they are wetting themselves over Chelsea,I thought they done nothing in attack, ridiculous.

I don't think we were really favourites today. Chelsea have gotten off to the best start in the league. Fairly even I would have thought prior to the match.

Well this thread at the starts suggests otherwise,I had to keep reminding people we were playing the league leaders.

Same ****, different season. I feel for him but it looks like he's just not cut out for the rigours of the game anymore.

Wenger summed it up, 3 shots on goal and 2 scored.
Chelsea hung on at times and if RVP was there, you would have probably won

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "I am deeply disappointed. We gave two cheap goals away, they had three shots on goal and scored two goals. It is unacceptable to give goals like that away in the big games.
"We lacked real authority and decisiveness at the back. We are a good side and that is what we have to take from the ganme. Certainly we can only blame ourselves for the goals.
"We were a bit nervous at the start I felt. We lost Abou Diaby early and that unbalanced us but we put a lot of effort in. In the second half it was all us until they scored on their first attack. Petr Cech kept them in the game and if we had scored the second goal we maybe get the third."

I thought Souness was spot on tbh. No one at the club willing to put their body on the line and fight tooth and nail for the ball when we dont have it. Few silly niggly little rash challenges today that gave Chelsea and dead ball specialist Juan Mata of all people perfect opportunities and per usual we were found badly wanting. Allowed too much time and space to Chelsea. The philosophy of the team has to change imo because quite frankly the defending today was nothing short of shambolic.

Barcelona have a philosophy where if they lose the ball they have to win it back within 6 seconds. If Arsenal are to be as good as them then they have to aspire to that just as they did vs Milan last year at the Emirates.

We can spend as much as Man City and Chelea on players but unless we are willing to change our attitude towards defending we are on a hiding to nothing. I thought we had turned a corner with Bould coaching us but it would seem its the same old story different day.

He is a luxury Arsenal can no longer afford though it probably wouldn't surprise me if he went on to another club and played 70 games a season for them.
