Is there any word on it getting online multiplayer? Tank!Tank!Tank!'s what I'm most looking forward to on the Wii-U.
Read my post above you. From what I've heard from the guys on NeoGAF, Tank! Tank! Tank! is local only.

Tank! Tank! Tank! is an arcade port on much lowlier hardware than the PS3 and 360 are so it's hardly one to judge the power of the WiiU on. I've heard the arcade game is an absolute blast in multiplayer.

It is. I've been known to hog the thing in Star Amusements.

I wouldn't really want online multiplayer on that game, would seem a much better fit for local.

I think the obvious question I'm going to ask is...why not both?

Pretty much. Online is pretty much the distant, slightly-dodgy cousin of local, but it's something that'd keep you playing the game, at least. I dunno how often I can wangle my nearest-and-dearest into sitting down to an extended session.

I have a few bob and there is nothing in the new releases on any format that I want.
And, if I bought something it'd just join the pile of bought somethings awaiting play.
Figure it might be better to spend on something retro, at least I'll never get bored as such, as it'll form part of the collection.
So, need to get into RAGE or something.
Don't want to phaff about online!

Just wait 'till next year. Then you won't be able to leave the house, again.

If they patched the exploits it'd be hard to disagree. But I'm just not a big fan of the Game Cube's controller. And that was before I ever laid eyes on this:

    221954.png

I'm sure its perfectly functional, but it looks like its got skateboard DNA in there.

    Compare that with:

Isn't the Gamecube controller widely regarded as one of, if not, the best of them?

I think it's the best console controller of them all but I remember some folks around here saying it was gash. They prob have claw hands or something.

Gamecube controller is the Boss Coffee of the controller world.

I always found it really nice to use, never tried a wavebird though are they meant to be as highly rated?

I had an adapter that let me plug in a PS/2 keyboard into the GameCube.

Best thing about PSO on the gamecube was the offline 4 player mode.

I really want to get my hands on a set of Wavebird controllers before they start going for silly money. I think they're supposed to be pretty damn nice to use.

I have a wavebird, and I think current controllers could learn a thing or two from its extremely healthy batter consumption. And also its weight - its glorious heft.

Gamecube controller, other than the confusing x and y buttons is one of the best ever made. A piece of ergonomically designed genius. If you don't like it it's because you have hands like Zoidberg.

Same, never tried the wavebird. So excluding that, the Cube controller has the best size, weight, button/stick placement and super long cables. Perfecto.

    Or, y'know, a physical disability.

Pay no heed to the foolish, great controllers like great people will always have their detractors.

I don't like the GC pad at all, big goofy green button, horrible shoulder buttons with that dull click sensation at the bottom, the terrible yellow thumb stick, no wonder so few games used it.
Sorry Retr0, the DC pad and 360 pad are better, for me and my Zoidberg hands at least!

Dreamcast pad? You sure about that, braah? Plastic analogue stick, cable that comes out the bottom and the odd shape kinda kills it for me. And as for the 360 controller, it's great, save for two exceptions...the d-pad and the bumpers. Not really good for Devil May Cry and MGS.

Neo Geo X Gold Handheld in Action

    Edit:
So I guess every game is going to be stretched to 16:9 then :(
Unless they're remastering every game, which I doubt.

I love the DC pad but not the 360, I dunno guess I'm not used to using it

I'm disappointed I didn't get to see him take it out of a box.

Someone has just unleashed Unboxing: The Video Game actually, although robbed the title from Tommy Wiseau's masterpiece. A little more elaborate than your usual unboxing video, but a celebration of opening boxes nonetheless.
