I don't want Nintys vision of the future!
    I want...
    Flying time travelling DeLoreans.
    Automatically lacing up Nikes.
Some of those auto fit/dry clothes.
    Mr Fusion.
    Hydrators in every kitchen.
Doc Browns great 2015 dress sense.
    and
Hoverboards (this one in every important)!

That the next gen of consoles are getting region locks slapped on 'em is fine by me. Its like they're trying to make console modding and firmware hacking into a mainstream part of gaming.

And if they screw up badly enough it'll pay very nicely into the hands of consoles like Ouja, distribution channels like Steam & pay what you want bundles, and crowd funded gaming on Kickstarter, RocketHub etc.

Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft losing even a little market share sounds like a good thing to me. Between 'em they've given us
    • a handheld without a power cable, in our region only
    • one of the most incompetently managed responses to 77,000,000 people's personal information getting stolen imaginable
    • legal threats directed at the same guys whose Kinect hacks were the reason people stopped calling Kinect a dodgy EyeToy knockoff

@ Retr0 - do you use a stepdown with your NTSC Snes, or can they be powered by something common like an MD1 adapter etc?

    My imaginary one? :)

I use a stepdown for my Virtual Boy which has the same adapter, can't tell you what voltage it takes but pretty sure it takes the same as the PAL one just has a different connector. Doesn't MMMonkey have a mod for the SNES adapters?

The US NES is working off a PAL NES power supply, which is the same as the PAL SNES one. Works perfect.

Nigella Lawson is on BBC 2 tonight. I cannot imagine a sight more heavenly than Nigella cooking italian food.

Bought something on ebay there over two weeks ago. I was sent a tracking number on the 11th, & thirteen days later, the tracking into is still at "electronic shipping info received".

Surely by now there should have been a change in status. The seller maintains they contacted USPS & was informed it was a glitch & is under investigation by USPS. The number is invalid on anpost.ie still also.

It could well be genuinely lost/missing, or the seller could be looking to bide time as buyers have 30 days only to raise a dispute/claim.

    Hmm, what to do

Nothing beats home cooked real Italian food.
Mmmm, hungry now but it's French food for tonight.

If national cuisines were Top Trump cards, Japan would be the top most trump. Indeed most Asian countries are forces to be reckoned with. Italy would be pretty good, certainly able to fend off most competition from Europe and Americas (would put up a good fight with Mexico though). Irish food would be that dud card that doesn't beat anything, except maybe countries consistently ravaged by famine and food borne illnesses.

The phrase "mutton dressed as lamb" springs to mind.

Call my tastes simple, but there are days when you can't beat a hot bowl of Irish Stew or something with Irish bought potatoes :)

Irish food has one trump card in it's deck - A full Irish breakfast. The greatest meal known to man.

On the topic of food, saw this earlier and had to pop into the bathroom for a quick dry retch afterwards. A true culinary abomination. Reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons where Homer ate all those packets of cheese.

Any of you guys into Mexican? It's a tie between that and Italian with me.

I'd murder a Burrito right now.

There are few foods better than a burrito from Boojum in town. So ridiculously good.

I always see that place when I'm going into Cactus Jacks. Looks a bit hipstery to me to be honest!

I don't give two ****s how hipstery a place is when they do the best chicken fajitas, loaded with jalapenos and hot sauce, for just over a fiver :pac:

I think over the last fifteen years I've destroyed my tolerance to Mexican food...if I even look at it these days I get heart burn :o

    Recently For take out:
    Chinese Curry {Hong Kong Kitchen in Dundrum is biblicaly nice}
    Chipper {Macari's in Blackrock is equally biblical}

    Recently For eating in:
Jimmy Chungs isn't bad for an all you can eat slop fest
Princess Gardens in Lucan have the worlds nicest chicken balls

But all that image proves is that Boojum is mainstream, therefore no longer hip! Therefore we can all enjoy their delicious budget burritos with great enthusiasm.

I did the exact same thing with Chinese food that you did with Mexican - can't even look at the stuff anymore. When we were growing up in my house, it was the only take away food we ever really got. I've eaten enough chicken balls and beef in black bean sauce now to do me a lifetime.

Burrito's and Blues is one I'm starting to frequent a lot lately.

Oooh, another thing I love is Falafel. Iskanders on Dame Street can't be beat. Then for added obesity, walk down the road to Shakes and have an After Eight milkshake. :D

I must try it sometime, always looking for good restaurants around the north side, they're few and far between!

Only ones I go to on a regular basis are Cactus Jacks and Yamamori.

Have actually been looking for a good falafel place, had one away recently and have now got a hankering for more. Must check that Dame St. place out, as I was surprised to discover Zaytoon don't serve them.
