Homestores & More : Memory Foam Mattress €200 for King Size

I'd been on the lookout for a good memory foam mattress for a while.
Homestore & More had a good priced one today and it was seriously comfortable testing out the display model. (Fonthill Road)

    Single : €125
    Double : €175
    King : €200

    Shop Link

I've seen those useless 3" mattress toppers for nearly that price.

It comes vacuum packed in a box with built-in wheels so it can fit in the back seat of a car.

I know some people say that pure memory foam mattresses can be a little too warm in the summer, just in case that's a factor for anyone.

I bought one of these the last time they were 1/2 price and I fully recommend them. Great matresses - sleep like a log.

    nice deal op

(why does the cynical person inside me think there will be a recommendation for a certain business in longford within the next 48 hrs)

Why do you have to air it for 3 days??

Because it will reek when taken out of the pack for the first time

Yeah, as slave1 says, it has a very strong chemical smell. Sort of like how paint smells. Don't know if I can resist using it for three days though. Might just frebreeze the daylights out of it.

The king size has to be aired for 5 days.

It's also needed to let the crushed vacuum packed mattress expand out to full size/depth.

Sorry to be negative but I wouldn't pay 1 euro for one of these again. We got ours home and left it in the spare room for 6 days with the windows open for the majority of the time and STILL the smell was rotten. Slept on it for about 2 weeks and started to develop a rash on my arms and back (something to do with the chemicals used) and immediately stopped using it on the doctors advise. Within 5 days the rash was gone and the mattress was dumped. Google 'memory foam mattress reviews' to see many more stories like mine. Bought a Silent Night spring mattress on sale in Arnotts and it's a dream to sleep on.

Was that a homedics memory foam mattress?

Why did you dump it instead of returning it?

Picked one of these up earlier, it's in the spare room airing as we speak, looks good can't wait to try it out:cool:

Reason why I bought this Homemedics Double Mattress out in Airside,Swords was and is the fact that it was going up into an attic conversion with a small spiral/twisty staircase.

Being in a box and vacume packed made it so easy to get it into the attic conversion.

It was used last night to sleep on,and I have to say that the person in question absolutely loves the feel and comfort of it.Double mattress protecter also used over the memory foam matttress.

So 175 euro very well spent IMO.

Oh and 10 euro for the double mattress protector too.

    Thanks again to the OP.

Bought a double mattress myself from Homestores & More on the Belgard Road.

    Thanks OP.

Just wondering do they thicken out after leaving them out? Mine is relatively thin. Should I have bought a topper also?

I've left it in the hall as I've no spare bed to put it on to air out. The reek of it. Glad I'm not using it tonight.

You have to leave them out for a few days.
I was told 5 days for the king size.

Yep, they definitely thicken out, they should end up at 17cm deep according to the box.

I was able to leave mine standing on it's edge, so it fattened out in 2 days, but I'll leave it the full 5 days.

Was there last night to try the dual sprung mattress with memory foam topper (€450 I think)
They were sold out by 2 hrs

Tried the others, the pocket sprung one wasn't bad but the memory foam felt awful

A mattress prictectior is a lined and elasticated sheet that goes ontop of the mattress itself.

It prevents general dirt, sweat and any fluids or spills from getting into the mattress.

The mattress protectors can be had in single, double and kingsize for feck all euros in Homestore & More and also Penneys.:)

Picked one up too, thanks OP
I unzipped the cover that came with the mattress, took it off and gave it a wash, thought it would smell fresher and also aid the airing process...

Ok, not to be thick (and tks for the pic btw) and maybe this is not the place for it but can you have a mattress, then a mattress protector on top and still make use of fitted sheets? It seems like a awful lot of depth with one on top of the the other?
